These guys were the first movers I've used that actually turned up early. Also, they just put there heads down and got on with it. None of the usual complaining. Plus on top of all that, they were one of the cheaper quotes I got through.
48 Stars a Moving Nightmare.
48 Stars has caused me an incredibly amount of headache and stress in what is already a stressful event- a cross-country move. At pick up, their hired out workers for the day were yelling and cussing at each other in my front yard, arguing over how to load my items. They didn't bring any tools, though they promised to take apart large furniture- so went to a neighbor's house on Saturday morning to ask to borrow theirs. When they finally gave me a delivery time they only gave me a 2 hour window, in which I could not be at home. It was a Sunday morning, and I'm a pastor, so literally no way around that. They were not even willing to try to understand and Varditt literally yelled at me on the phone!
On delivery, the drivers tried to drop off 5-6 boxes that weren't even mine. They asked if I wanted to keep them anyway because they were just going to Goodwill or a dumpster. I was shocked! I refused to take someone else's stuff, and soon realized many of my things were missing too. On top of that, all of my nice furniture was badly damaged in all of their moving and removing it carelessly.
In trying to file a claim, Koby keeps saying none of my items are missing, and I wrapped my own furniture. He is flat out lying and knows it. I don't even know how either of those things are disputable. He saw on delivery that a coffee table and grill were not there, and said to just file the claim in 90 days. It turns out he was just pushing me off, with every intention of ignoring, excusing, and stalling.
I have over $1,000 of lost and damaged goods and they are saying they don't have any part in any of it. And I know I'm not the only one, as they tried to get me to take someone else's things. This is literally the worst company I have ever worked with for anything. Rude. Unprofessional. Unethical. Terrible in every way. Don't use them and don't use National Moving Group who brokers out to them. You won't save a dime, and you'll be out things they've stolen and lost.
Items Still Not Delivered - Two Months Later.
Do not use this company. If you are hiring a mover and they sub contract the work, make sure that they don't use this company. They are very difficult to get a hold of via phone. I finally got someone who will respond via email but I am pretty sure that they only handle the scheduling of the deliveries. My shipment is over 2 months delayed and they are still expecting me to pay the contracted amount. After I pay this company, they want me to contact their arbrutation person to get my money back. That doesn't sound like a guarantee. They also updated the estimate to a price that was over 50% of what I was originally quoted. Yes, I did have additional weight but it wasn't 50% more. When they arrived, there were only two guys and they were looking for guys on the street to help with the move. I am paying for a professional service! That is not professional. When they were packing my things, they didn't have ANY packing material. They had to use my clothes and towels to pack my valuables. I am sure that there are multiple things broke and clothes ruined. They had boxes and shrink wrap. That doesn't prevent my valuables from breaking. If you are looking to have your things arrive in a timely fashion, I would advise not using this company. I am still waiting for my things. .
