  1. Bad Business Practices.

Move was uneventful. I was well prepared and not demanding. Upon unpacking, a lamp shade was missing. I made multiple contacts with the office with no acknowledgement. Finally got in touch with Customer Service and was instructed to start a claim by submitting pictures of the missing items. They are missing..I can't take pictures of them. Took a picture of the lamp with no shade and a matching lamp shade as it was part of a set. Was told they would pay a claim based on the weight of the shade. What? I'm sure that's the contract I agreed to. For a professional (I'm using the term loosely) moving company to fall back on a technicality and not make it right for a customer, I'm appalled. AVOID THIS BUSINESS!

  2. Cannot be trusted! Bait & switch tactics!

In October, 2019, I was given a quote of $549 for 2 MEN & 1 TRUCK, for an estimated need of 3 hours, to move my daughter’s belongings ((which I described to sales rep in detail) from a small 1 bedroom apartment in Crystal to a storage facility about 1 mile away.

After being told they would arrive between 2 & 3 p.m. on Oct 30. Finally at 5:30, 3 men and 1 truck showed up. Shortly, because they were so late, they suggested bringing another truck & 2 more men to make it go faster without explaining clearly how much more they would charge before she signed the paper work. They also told my daughter she’d need to get an additional storage unit (which was unnecessary as the original was never filled) which took even more time.

In the end THEY CHARGED $1374.49 FOR 5 MEN TAKING 4 HOURS which is ridiculous. I objected to the “trainer” on the phone, and was told they would give me a 10% discount for being so late and that someone would call me the next day to discuss my complaint and the charge. Neither happened. I called the sales rep that gave me the original estimate quote & left 2 messages. 2 days later he left a message for me saying he could not imagine how that could have happened, but he had no authority to do anything. He said he forwarded my complaints to the “customer service rep” who would take care of me. To this day, they don’t answer their phones and have never returned a call to me after I have left countless messages over the last 2 and 1/2 months. Once, Mariah, the so-called customer service rep, answered the phone and supposedly took down all my information and said she’d look into it. To this day, she has not communicated with me in any way. I disputed the charges on my credit card, but AAA MOVERS sent them moving documents that had innacurate and false information written by one of the movers on it. They also sent a list of packing services and materials they claim they provided, which, in fact, they did not.

I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but beware of this company! On their website they claim they “strive to earn satisfaction” “making sure it is done right” and with a”team there to assist with any issue before, during, and after the move”. Obviously, from our experience, they do not live up to their claims. It seems just the opposite: after they got my credit card number (and hastily charged me almost 3 times the amount estimated),while refusing to even have the decency to talk with me about it, they couldn’t care less. This experience and disrespectful treatment has caused me extreme anxiety, emotional, physical, and financial stress over the last 2+ months. Being an honest, trustworthy person who tries to look for the best in people, I am sorely disheartened and disappointed that a company such as AAA movers can get away with such dishonest practices!

  3. AAA Moving Experience.

My move cost twice as much as my original estimate.

I called to talk to customer service, they said someone would call me back to discuss, no one did and they just charged my card anyway even though I never signed for the charge. Mariah was supposed to call me back twice now. Really terrible management and no customer service.

EDIT: Now I'm missing items on top of all this!

EDIT 1.16.20 I found my missing items in the hallway of my old apartment. Plants and my office chair. You also charged my card without my consent. You didn't even ask for a payment method and I told dispatch I wanted to talk to customer service before I was changed.

  4. Recent move.

We just moved 120 plus miles from the cities. AAA Movers were great throughout the entire process. We took advantage of their "de-clutter" option and it worked out great. The only hiccup was when they loaded the upper part of a China cabinet one of the guys accidentally pit his knee through one of the side glass panels (which they took care of after the completion of the move), nobody's fault just an accident..
We were quoted one truck and three guys, the day of the move they showed up with two trucks and four guys but stayed true to their quote even with the addition of the one truck and person..

All in all a very good and professional experience, even with the one hiccup. I would use AAA again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!!
    Thank you..

  5. Office move.

I was pleasantly pleased with the smooth process it took to initiate and complete this move of my business from Bloomington to downtown Minneapolis. Three of the best showed up, Matthew, Nate and Isaac were on time, courteous and fun spirited. They were always concerned about our needs and wants.

    I highly recommend this company.

  6. Moving services.

Movers worked hard all day with out even taking a break, I will use again in few months when I move into my new house.

  7. Poor Work Ethic.

We moved with AAA 18 months ago and it was amazing. We had three movers and one truck and they were fast an efficient and came in under the estimate. We just moved today with 6 movers and 2 trucks and the same household and it took longer! I was quoted the same amount as my move 18 months ago, but the cost ended up being double. Their “boss” had a terrible work ethic and when I asked him to get everyone moving a little faster (after we were already 3 hours after the job should have been done), he gave me a huge attitude and then refused to talk to me for the rest of the move. I called and talked to a part owner and he said that I had to pay the full price and then we would try to work out a resolution. Based on other reviews I had read, I knew that I wasn’t going to get any money back in any timely fashion.

They also had other movers that would take very small loads and then would disappear for 5-10 minutes before taking another load. I wouldn’t use them again unless I knew the crew that was going to work with me.

  8. My discrepancy in my charges.

So no one referred me to aaa mover I found them in the phonebook. That's how long I have done business with the company. I use the 3 times referred them many times. The last time I use them I was quoted one estimate and ending up paying $300 more. Went to pickup my free boxes didn't find out until I got there that there was a deposit to get the boxes. They first 2 times I used this company my moves where stress free.

  9. Very BAD Move & Experience.

We have moved many times and AAA Movers is by far the WORST moving company we have ever used.
Under quoted and attempted to overcharge prior to delivery. We had to fight to have them honor their contract with their threat of refusing to unload. They attempted to overcharge by nearly $4k.
Understaffed for packing and loading causing an 8 hour delay from the promised departure time.
Understaffed for unloading and it took over 12 hours to unload.
Broke 3 items, one being a family heirloom, and we are still fighting to get reimbursed.
    STAY AWAY!!

  10. Great Service.

I used AAA Movers to help move my family from Eden Prairie to Lakeville in March 2017. I can't tell you how pleased I was with their services.
On time, professional, and overall the estimate I was provided was within $100. I was very pleased considering that they packed and moved all my belongings. Quoted $2,890 and the actual was $2,978
    I would highly recommend.

  11. Our movers.

We had the best movers. Terry, Isaac, and Kevin. They were awesome came up and introduced themselves and shook our hands. They were class acts. They did an awesome job, very professional. I highly recommend AAA Movers!!

  12. A horrible made experience made worse by post move management.

My girlfriend and I had AAA movers move her last Summer. The cost was over $3,000 including an insurance move contract. The movers were initially good but due to equipment malfunctions the foreman lost his cool and began yelling at the movers and actually rammed the loading ramp into her belongings in the semi. At the end a $4,000 table was ruined along with a $400 desk. After more than 6 months AAA said they were sorry the move went so bad and agreed to pay for the $400 desk and the overcharge, but the $4,000 table, well that wasn't going to be covered as they felt it was pre-existing damage. The table has a broken leg how would the movers been able to wrap it up in that state and why does the insurance inventory have the table marked as good/perfect condition.
Everyone can have a bad day, it's how you deal with your mistakes that says everything and no one should have to fight to have a company stand by their very clear contractual obligations.

  13. Stay Far Away From These Guys!!

Where to even begin. Well, like many others we heard about these guys on KFAN and they sounded like a good moving company. We moved back in 2014 and had all our items stored in 8-9 vaults for around 18 months in their warehouse as our family moved out of the country. Contrary to what they state, our items were not inventoried when we moved so we had to email them after the fact to have this done. We wanted to be able to get items from our vaults periodically when we were back in the country and it's nearly impossible to find items if you don't know which vault they are in. First off, they charge $60/hour minimum to take your vaults down for you to look inside. Because they did not inventory our items at the time of the move, they had to take all our vaults down, empty them, and inventory. So when the time came to have our items returned to us, surprise items were missing! In fact, over $10,000 worth of items were missing.

When we contacted AAA about this, at the very beginning they were responsive and seemed willing to help. That lasted for about 2 weeks, after that it was almost impossible to get them to respond (see other reviews who had similar customer service issues). I was finally fed up so I showed up on site, and was told to come back in a few days and the warehouse manager would help. When I came back, all the vaults we used previously had been lowered. This was all for window dressing, because the warehouse manager told me that there was no point in looking at the other vaults after I had looked through one and our items were not in there. This wasn't surprising, by this point these vaults had been re-used. It was obvious that our items were likely lost at the time they were emptied to be inventoried.

After dealing with this mess for over 4 months and receiving almost no responses to our weekly inquiries, I finally received a call from "Brent" who assured me he would handle the issue like all the others before him had stated. I had several conversations with him, and he told me that if nothing else, AAA had "insurance" that paid out 60 cents on the dollar. Like almost everything we were told by AAA, this was inaccurate. We come to find out they pay 60 cents based on the weight of the items, so they generously offered to pay us $600 on our items valued at $10,000. The owner emailed us back and pointed out that we had signed the disclaimer pointing out this fact, which we no doubt did. However, we were told to "sign here, sign here, sign here" at the time of the move which we did. We were not verbally told what would happen if they lost or damaged our items, which they routinely do based off of customers reviews.

These people are total scammers, they hide behind boilerplate language after they lose or damage your items. The owner, "John", emailed his resolution and in the course of these email exchanges stated numerous things that were factually inaccurate, which we can prove by our own correspondence. Now we have to go through small claims court and/or the BBB just to try and get a reasonable resolution.

I would NEVER use this company again, they employ unethical business practices and know that if they lose and/or damage your items, there is minimal cost on their end. Consider yourself warned.

  14. AAA Movers are horrible.

Do not use AAA Movers! They are horrible. This is the worst moving experience we've every had and we've moved a lot. They will make many promises but won't deliver. Their packing schedule was horrible and understaffed, their loaders were supposed to show up between 8-10am and they showed up at 4pm, we weren't out of the house until early the next morning to close on the sale of it. We were supposed to accept delivery of our goods no later than June 27th and they just told us it will be some time after the 4th of July. What about the contract that says good will be delivered between 21 and 27 July? The goods have been packed up for a week but they haven't budged..they are literally sitting in a truck somewhere. The company is unresponsive when you call to speak to somebody or get information. The move is a complete disaster..and we haven't even received our goods yet!

  15. Miscommunication and acism.

On 5/4 I contracted AAAmovers to move my household from MN to GA. The salesperson was Chris Kurr and we discussed how the move will be. Chris was not thorough and mainly presented marketing materials about AAA and Arpin.I shared with Chris the simple fact that we are selling our house and moving into an apartment. Chris did NOT respond to my comment regarding the apartment and never mention to me either verbally or in writing about possible extra charges.According to the contract,AAA were supposed to arrive to my home in MN on 5/27, load the truck and start driving to GA. I was given a window for the truck to arrive to GA between 6/1-9.AAA came as agreed to load my household but movers gave the impression that it was a summer job for them and therefore didn’t pay too much attention to loading furniture (we have some missing items and broken furniture). The movers did not present us with the “statement of accessorial services performed” at the time of pick up.I asked Chris to receive status updates regarding the move, his response was that they will let me know 48 hours before delivery.Since I have not heard from Chris for a few days I contacted him on 6/1 and requested status update.Chris responded on 6/2 with the following:“we have some issues with the truck going to GA,unfortunately it looks like it may be there 6/10 or 11 for delivery”. When investigating more that day about this issue Chris told me that “your items are still in MN” and “you will be receiving $125 per day the shipment is late”.Little did I know, it is by Federal law to compensate $125 per day the shipment is late and Chris made it sound like AAA are doing me a favor.Chris told me on 6/2 that they will be getting my things on different truck. This was a complete lie since in his previous communication he had mentioned that they are shooting for the truck to leave on 6/6/15. This is a 4 days difference! On 6/5, I asked Chris what type of truck for delivery will it be since we are living in an apartment building. His response was “53ft semi”. There was NO mention about any incurring additional charges. Chris deliberately IGNORED my comment which was NOT the first time since I told Chris on several occasions verbally that we are moving to an apartment building. On 6/6, I asked Chris for a status update. He replied on 6/8 that “the truck has left and will be there on Wednesday”.Once again, nothing about apartment building and access to it. On 6/10, the truck arrived to GA to my apartment.delivery time window was 8-10am. However, truck arrived at 11am which is one hour late. A local team of Arpin movers were waiting to unload the truck. They were NOT informed by Chris and AAA that we live in an apartment. The truck driver was also not informed it was an apartment and according to him, he should have been informed before leaving MN in order to make the necessary arrangements and because of the circumstances he looked angry, unpleasant, and bitter. The team and truck driver took out their frustration on my wife in a very ugly way and hate look. The solution for unloading my household in the apartment was to unload it to a smaller truck and then deliver it to my apartment.Again we were never informed of that possibility. Bridgett from AAA called my wife to inform her that we have to pay additional $838.80 for the shuttle service and demanded pay right away. My wife was puzzled and asked for an explanation since this was never discussed with us when we received the estimate. She was very short and rude with her, and said that if we wont pay they WILL NOT deliver our household and will charge us $250/day additionally for storage.Once again I felt that I am held a hostage. It took the team 4 hrs to return.Interstate move is very stressful and Chris Kurr and Bridgett from AAA were NOT professional, added to the stress level, lied to us,were rude, threaten to use our household as hostage, the driver was upset, unpleasant, rude, and I felt racism since we are not white and from MN.
