  1. Affordable Family Movers of Florida

    DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. Made my reservation a month out. I Made contact the day before my move to confirm. Bobby the owner said they would be there by noon the following day. Well, the day of the move we waited... and waited... and waited. They never showed up. We texted and tried to call multiple times and the phone went straight to voicemail and the mailbox was full! No response to multiple text messages!!! I had taken the day off from work for the move so I also lost money. Thank goodness we found good movers to come the next day. We have never heard a word from Bobby, who was so very accommodating when we booked. What a joke this company is. Reported also to BBB. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of Affordable Family Movers of Florida!!!!

  2. Genuine hard working guys.

    Julius was great! Never seen someone move as fast as him and still be careful. I ended up going over the 4 hrs booked but it was because I had more than I realized.

    How about we just post the complaint I filed with BBB and attorney general so you can see the whole story.

    Desk panels during recent move were not delivered. Business not taking responsibility to replace desk among other issues.
    I had a 3 person move scheduled on September 22 starting between 9-10am. I contacted the company at 9:26am to ask for an ETA and was advised they would be late with an ETA of 10:30-11am. I called back at 11:25am as no one had arrived and was told they would now arrive at approximately 12-12:30pm and there were only TWO movers, not the 3 I reserved. AND that in exchange for delay I would be charged for 2 movers, and they would still try to find a third. To be clear they arrived with 2 movers (and the girlfriend who was made clear to me at that time was NOT part of the scheduled crew but was only helping out as she was with her boyfriend); however again I note that I scheduled for 3 movers. After the truck was loaded we went to my storage unit, and after that was loaded to my new apartment. A picture frame was broken at the storage unit and I let them know it was of no concern. When arriving at my apartment the associates now had a third mover show up; more than halfway through the move. In addition they smelled like weed at this point.
    At the end of the unloading process I was told they could not generate a invoice or let me pay online, they claimed the "system was down" and urged me to pay in cash. They went so far as to state they would go with me to an ATM machine. I emphatically refused. They stated we "have to work something out" and I advised they can take a check, or bill me. Otherwise the only option is to pay a proper invoice with a credit card. They stated their boss wouldn't like that and we need to "work it out" or they would call the police for me not paying.
    At this point it was 520pm, I spoke with their boss, I believe his name was Robert at 813-562-0023. He generated an invoice for $551.25, the price for THREE movers, even though that morning he PROMISED me for them being 3 hours late, he would find a third person and only charge me the two person rate. I pushed back and said I would not pay the $551.25 because that was for 3 movers and for more than half the move I only had two. Eventually he adjusted the invoice to $472.50 and I agreed to pay on the understanding he was charging me for 2 movers half the time and 3 movers the other half.
    After a day or so of unpacking I discovered 5 glass panels that put my entire desk together we not delivered. I checked multiple times and checked the prior residence as well. I personally watched them loaded from my old location to the truck. I contacted them to ask about the glass panels on 9/24 @ 703pm. Was told they would call me back. I called again 9/26 @ 623pm and was told they would call back again. I texted also 9/26 with no response. Finally I emailed them on 9/27 and advised the value of the desk which is $232.99 and that I would provide until 10/1 for them to find the panels, or start the process to reimburse me so that I can replace my desk. They responded via email on 9/27 and stated "No sir it is not on truck". I followed up and asked how to get a refund for my desk and they never responded. I made multiple calls, sent a text, sent an email with a reasonable deadline and am getting no where.

    They were entirely unprofessional, 3 hours late, smelled like weed, broke some of my things, didn't deliver my desk panels, tied to strong arm me into paying cash like a drug deal, charged me the wrong amount and attempted to refuse to fix it. And now they owe me $232.99 for a desk.

    As for the previous review regarding Ms. April, previous Review, April was issued a FULL REFUND a, And all Employees that preformed that move, has Since Been Terminated. Sorry for any Inconvenience that May have caused.

  5. Affordable Family Movers of Florida - Bad service.

    I am writing this review for the Affordable Family Movers of Florida. I paid $183.75 to have 2 beds moved ( a queen bed and a bundbed) only 1 bed was actually moved as the mover advised they didn't have the proper tools to break down the bunkbed. The movers also had to stop for gas in the middle of the move.As the finished moving the one bed into the home the mover advised he had to take me off the clock as the time limit was up ( I was never advised of a 2 hour time limit). He said he would call the owner so he could come back once they finished their last job to move my bunkbed. When that never happened I immediately called the moving company to advise of the situation the owner advised he had to terminate the movers and he would get his new movers to come out. I agreed. That hasn't happened to date after many failed promises to have the movers come and move what I paid to have moved. I have now waited seven days since the original move date and still nothing has been done to fix the situation.
