  1. Did not provide services promised.

Affordable Moving Systems, LLC. 701 Jessie St. San Fernando, CA. I scheduled a move from Austin, TX to Kansas City, MO for a Monday with a Tuesday morning being the latest time for pick up. I explained to Victoria Jones, I had to be out of our apartment by noon on that Tuesday and she reassured me they would be able to pick up our items on Monday and use Tuesday only if some unforeseen catastrophic event occurred. Victoria Jones stated they would call me the Friday before the move to schedule the time for the pick up. I never received a call and I finally had to call them on Sunday to find out what time to expect them and the lady said no drivers are available, we will call you back.. A Nathan called me at 6 p.m. on that Monday and I explained to him we had to rent a truck in fear we had been scammed and no one has called to schedule our pick up. I asked Nathan for a refund and he told me to email him the issue and lack of communication with the company. I did and to this day he has not responded to me and even avoids me. I did not receive a call until Tuesday at 5 p.m.by the driver to schedule a time to pick up our belongings even though the company assured me a pick up by Tuesday at noon at the latest. The driver said that the company way overbooked him and this was the earliest he was able to make it and they never told him that it had to be picked up by noon. The company charged me $180 deposit, lied to us about the pick up time to get our business, would not communicate with us regarding the pickup time, and the stated services were not provided. I have sent emails and called several times requesting to speak with a manager for a refund and they will not respond to me and have even intentionally avoided me like hanging up on me. I finally reached a customer service rep named Joy and she told me that my file states no refund will be given. They received $180 deposit to take the reservation but not keep it because they overbook and figure people will just get frustrated and give up after trying to get a refund. This company is a scam and they do not provide the services promised and they even knowingly lie to get business and avoid any disputes by no communication. This company would rather have bad reviews then refund $180. A reputable company would not hesitate to submit a refund knowing they did not provide any service to the customer. A reputable company works hard to receive positive reviews.

  2. Long haul move.

Do not use this company they were 5 days late on delivery without notice we had no furniture to live in our new house.we had to stay in A hotel.when it arrived we had to put it in storage.the mover's put it in and by the time they were done it'was dark and we could not inspect it.the movers said they could not wait they had to go to another state.we inspected our goods the next day and found a lot of damaged items.we filled A claim and they never returned my call.they refused to pay for the damiged items saying it was not there fault And not even apologizing for the 5 day's late.once again do not use this company.

  3. Poor Service And no Response to Email Complaint.

Move day 5/20/16: 4 movers, large truck. After several hours of loading as we were cleaning out the garage, they closed up the truck and demanded payment either by cash or credit card or we would not get our belongings back. Was never told this would happen by estimator. Was taken back, but paid with credit card on the spot. They drove away and we quickly closed up the house and garage and drove to new house(4-5 miles away) to let them in and supervise where things were put. Near the end of unloading they brought out a 3 piece entertainment center that was in our old house family room and was designated to go upstairs in the new house. Without even attempting to move it up they bluntly refused to move it to where we wanted it. The estimator saw all of the furniture prior to the move and never told us that anything could not be moved to a place in our new home.

At that point the moving guys mentioned about buying it for around 20 cents on the dollar since it was now unloaded in our garage. I refused! Felt I was being hustled. Called the office and the moving manager said he stood behind his movers and if they did not want to move it upstairs, it was not going to be moved.

Subsequently, we found another company that would only take cash($200.00) and two guys moved the furniture upstairs where we wanted it.

Next, after returning to the old house the next day we found boxes in the master bedroom that had been packed for moving(we paid for them to pack) and had been left by them and not moved as contracted. The short of it they left enough stuff that it took 3 trips in my Ford Flex, fully filled, to move all of that to the new house. I had written to them twice on their website with no response or no phone call back from management.

At this point I would like to be compensated for the cost of moving the furniture upstairs and 3 loads of moving I had to do after the fact.
