  1. These people will lose your stuff - other reviews are correct.

My stuff made it in two weeks and timing was great, but they lost one of our boxes, now everybody is washing their hands and I haven't heard any responses from the dispatch that was supposed to contact me. I called the driver and He is not picking up the phone. Come on, we paid for insurance, and now I need to go through a claim department that doesn’t even know what’s going on since the warehouse supposedly couldn't find the box there. We lost expensive kitchen stuff, plus all of our family memories are now gone. All of our boxes had my name all over, and now nobody knows where it is, they can't even try following up with the driver and see if he can call the customers he provided a service to find out if they got a box by mistake. How a box with names all over will get lost so quickly that it's very shady. Now, who will give us back all of our family memories (pictures, etc..)? It is not ok, and you guys have this issue with more customers, is time to step up and be better tracking stuff. I feel a lack of care after they did the work, and it wasn't cheap. Thanks, Bekins.

  2. Great Movers Until They Left, With Our Belongings.

We moved from CA to WI. We had no problem with our Bekins crew after they loaded in CA, or while unloading in Milwaukee. We had arrived at our new home a couple of days before the movers arrived with our belongings, so we had some items in the home already. Only after they left did we realize a MacBook Air laptop and a $500 Fossil watch were missing. I had just used the computer and worn the watch the night before the movers arrived. Unbelievably, the movers were so personable, and did such a good job we tipped them and provided soft drinks. Upon reporting the missing items to our Bekins reps we were more or less told, they couldn't do anything and to file a police report. So..those movers are still out there, probably taking more belongings from unsuspecting customers.

  3. Not good!

On the day of the move, the driver's were 2 hours late with no notification. I was told that the reason they were late was because of scheduling and that they were thrown on the job last minute. I was also told that they would be done in time for my dentist appointment (which I NEEDED to make because of my relocation) yet they were not and I had to reschedule.

I was not told that there would be a different driver picking up than dropping off until half way through the move when I was asking questions that they could not answer due to the person being so new. He told me to contact my rep.

I had to call multiple times for an update on the move. I was told that I would get a call 2 days prior to the arrival. I had to call 2 days prior and was told that the driver was on his way and would contact me after loading the truck. He did not call me until late the next day.

When the driver arrived he was frustrated with me because his truck was too big to make it through the complex, as if it was my fault. Had the same truck that was loaded when items were picked up was used, there would not have been an issue.

The people that helped the driver were very helpful and quick. The driver was a bit slow. He even told me he was "doing me a favor" by putting my bed frame together for me since he was not the driver upon pick up. The 2 guys ended up putting everything together for me, which is what I was told would happen.

I contacted Austin as soon as I realized that there were missing items. He told me that someone from the trace would contact me right away. Days later I had to call him because no one had contacted me. I had not heard from him so I emailed him and he called me right away saying that he did not get my email. He said that he would find out what happen and contact me back. Many days later I still had not heard from him so I called and emailed him again. Days after no response I called the general number and was told that she (missed her name) would look into it and reach back out to me. A few days later I finally received an email from Austin with a claim form. He said that he was having email issue, which still does not explain him not getting my voicemails. He also stated someone from corporate would be reaching out. That was the 7th of May and I have not heard from ANYONE.

I used this company because my aunt and uncle had a great move. They had people come box up what they had not and the same driver who picked up the items, dropped them off. He even arrived earlier than expected and was informed of the move the entire time.

  4. Horrible experience. Incompetent and uncaring office staff.

I put my stuff in storage with Bekins in CA. After getting a house in Spokane, WA, I notified them of the date by which I could move in. They confirmed the date. Then, then before I even had possession of the house and without any notification at all, they had my stuff loaded on a truck and moved to Spokane. When I finally reached them to say it could NOT be delivered, they completely ignored my repeated requests to tell me where they had put my stuff or if they were going to deliver it on the promised date. After I finally got my stuff, they put not only the $2300 fee I owed on my credit card, but charged an additional $8300 on my card! Can you imagine? There were also various small nicks and wheels knocked off a rolling table, etc. Moving stuff into and out of storage an additional time didn't help.

  5. Horrible service and follow through.

I had a terrible experience with this company and strongly do not recommend them; I was billed for hours where no work whatsoever was being performed. They also damaged and lost many of my items I have over $6000 in losses from this company. They have stalled any resolution process for over a year and a half. I would strongly recommend not to use this company.. Extremely poor service and follow up. Seriously damage furniture and many items missing still.

  6. Highly Recommend AMS Bekins!

We highly commend the Burlingame Bekins affiliate for their comprehensive consultation prior to our move.  We found the estimates to be amazingly accurate.  We also found the packers to be very efficient and hard working.  The moving staff were equally efficient, knowledgeable and personable.  Our interstate move occurred without a hitch.  The movers/packers arrived on time and treated our treasured possessions with respect and care both on the loading and unloading ends.  We couldn't have been happier with our decision to go with Bekins/Wheaton Moving and Storage.  We highly recommend them for all your moving needs!!

  7. Driver, Jimmy Johnson.

When a driver for the company, hires a person to work for them. They are responsible for the tip the customer has handed out. Well apparently, Jimmy Johnson of Bekins out of Chicago likes to take advantage of his friends and help by keeping the tip. For his drugs and women he has on the truck. Really sad. Bekins needs to be aware who they have working for them.
