1. Best Moving Company in DFW.

   I have used Around the Block Moving twice now, and they continue to impress me. This time around, my husband and I are remodeling several rooms in our home, and wanted to move most of our furniture into storage while it's being done. Around the Block has experienced, professional movers. They are prompt, honest, helpful, and well-managed. There are no hidden fees, and the quote I was given over the phone was spot on! The movers arrived on time, which was a big deal for me, because I'm usually on a very tight schedule. They went above and beyond, asking if I needed additional help with anything. I would DEFINITELY recommend this moving company to anyone, and have several times. If you are looking for professional movers, you need to call Around the Block!

2. Complaint against Around the Block Moving, Inc. Dallas, Tx.

   On Saturday 10/28/17 Around the Block Moving, Inc arrived at the address 3110 Thomas ave, Dallas, Tx 75214 to move our daughter to her new address at 5602 worth dallas, Tx 75214. We had a phone quote of 2/3 hours to move the contents of the one bedroom, 900 sq ft apt. We had used this company in 2013 to move the same furniture into the same apt and this quote was in line with our previous experience. They took 7 hours to load the furniture and damaged 2 pieces of furniture. Upon arrival at the destination address, the movers refused to unload the truck until my daughter paid $1000. They informed her, if she did not pay, they would leave with her furniture loaded in the truck. As I was paying for the move, she called me and I called the owner. He did not feel the 7 hours was excessive, even though it had been quoted for 3 hours and stated "each move is different." He also threatened to have my daughter arrested for nonpayment and threatened legal action against me. My daughter was alone with these two movers and felt very threatened and uncomfortable. Also, prior to the move, the office said payment could be cash or credit. When the movers arrived, they requested cash. I did not allow my daughter to pay in cash and we were forced to pay the $1000 which I had her put on her credit card. I also had her call for a friend to come to be with her as she was very uncomfortable with these movers. They charged her another $125 dollars for the 1 hour it took them to unload and set up her furniture. They kept asking her if there was anything else and just stayed. She knew they were wanting to get a tip and finally paid $100 as a tip so they would leave. Total cost for this move was $1225. This is an extremely excessive amount of time and money to move a 900 sq ft apt contents a short distance. I feel that this moving company took advantage of a young female and know that this is not only unethical business behavior, but should also be considered illegal. I do not expect to have a move for free and am not asking for a full refund, but I am asking that we only pay for 4 hours @$125/hr (the quote was for 2/3 hours). Also, the movers told my daughter on arrival it would take them about 2 hours to load the furniture because of where they had to park but would only take them an hour to unload. There is absolutely no reason this should have taken 7 hours to load furniture and only one to unload and assemble. I believe this is how they steal people's money by refusing to unload the belongings until payment is received. I have NEVER paid a moving company prior to their finishing the job.
