  1. Horrible Moving Experience - Not Recommended

Terrible experience, terrible customer service and lazy/unmotivated workers. Buyer beware - read the reviews and check with the BBB. I can't endorse this company or their support staff at all. Here is my experience -

We had Dave Deckman of Atlanta Peach Movers come in person and give us an estimate for our belongings of a 4 bed/2400 sq ft home. Dave quoted about 10K lbs of movables/ $360 hr / 8.5 hours / 2 box trucks / 6 movers.

    Issues:

    1. Dave told us that the company can move potted plants - no where in the paperwork are potted plants mentioned. ON MOVE DAY, the movers informed us that because plants can die in the back of the van, they could not be taken. I have to hire additional movers to move my potted plants. Emailed Dave, Dave said the policy changed on 9/1, but this was untrue - this has been a standing policy with the company for some time. Dave never responded to my email to make things right.

    2. We moved ALL of our boxes from the old house to the new house (clothes, kitchenware, office stuff, kid toys, etc.). This should have been included in Dave's quote. We did this to lighten the load and the burden on move day (and hopefully reduce our cost since it was high). The team came in right at time/budget. So either the quote was incorrect (re: Dave Deckman) or the workers slowed down to the process to maximize the paid time during the move.

    3. Mover laziness was real. I'm not a stickler for taking a break - I get it, but dancing in the street in front of my house, sitting down for extended periods of time, and talking hand-on-ear with a cell phone isn't ok in front of the client. I not only observed this on my own, but had three neighbors (one at my former residence and two at my new residence) commented on the level of lazy shown by the team during working hours.

    4. I diligently labeled all furniture with color-coded labels and matching tags in each room so that the team would know where to place things. My daughters outdoor picnic table (outdoor basement level) ended up in her bedroom (upstairs) and had to be brought back to the basement. My peloton is in the correct room, but on the opposite wall of where it belongs. They carried our smoker (BGE) over loose stones instead of wheeling it through the house (we would have approved this) which caused a HUGE delay. Other furniture ended up in wrong places - my tags were not followed which would have saved time and expense. The movers did tour the house and the tagging system was explained, so why there was confusion here, I'm unsure.

    5. My working desk and bookcase are not put together as promised by team/Dave Deckman. When calling Samira Jalaly, Customer Service Director at Atlanta Peach, she did ask if I wanted them put back together. I do not want these people in my house ever again. Additionally, there is a part missing from my outdoor patio set that was lost in the move. It's a small part, but still showcases the care demonstrated by the company.

    6. We have a bedframe that is not being used at the moment, so we didn't need it put together. Instead of placing it neatly under its tag, the pieces were strewn over the wood floors of the guest bedroom - I had to walk on top of them to get to my desk. These are large boards that I had to pickup and move on my own when they could have just been neatly stacked against the wall. I also witnessed one of the boards being dropped RIGHT in front of me in the driveway without an apology.

    7. One of the movers needed to use the restroom (totally fine), but clogged the toilet. He did ask for a plunger (which I had to go out and purchase quickly), but he never cleared the clog. The entire main level of the home smelled for the latter half of the move. We did have a sewer issue at the house, so we're very lucky that this did not cause further home damage (very lucky when the plumber came out to resolve the issue as he said this could have triggered a huge problem).

I did speak with Samira Jalaly, Customer Service Director, and unfortunately, she was unable to make things right for me at all - in fact, she didn't even try. She said that the only complaint that she saw was the misinformation of the potted plants and which she'd let Dave Deckman know the policy for the future. Since the quote matched closely with Dave's initial estimate, there was nothing she was willing to do (and mind you - we moved A LOT prior to initiating their services). What I witnessed was the level of lazy with sales, customer support and with the moving team itself permeates throughout the company.

Bottom line - whatever quote you're given, the workers are going to extend their level of effort to match the quote plus some if able.

Hoping this review helps you make an informed choice about your move.

  2. Interstate move from Georgia to Florida

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!! I have thousands of dollars of damaged furniture and missing property. I have been trying to get a claim processed for over 4 months since they confirmed receipt of all claims forms pictures and receipts. Insurance company confirmed they have not received the information from Atlanta Peach Movers and they have had it in their possession for over 4 months. Their claim form reads "By law, a claim must be dispositioned within 90 days of its receipt". It has been 126 days today. They do not respond regarding this claim. This damage is due to negligence. I was promised a VIP crew , I got a grandma, her daughter and a teenage son and 3 others all with attitude . One of the four trucks that was sent to load did not have a ramp or a lift and my furniture was not blanket wrapped as promised and this was not a VIP professional crew as I was promised. It was a family and friends. This truck without a lift or ramp had my largest ,heaviest, most expensive pieces of furniture and most is broken or damaged. They tried to charge me for 4 trucks at delivery and only brought 2 . I refused to pay for 4 trucks, but I did offer to pay for the 2 that arrived and the owner, who got on the phone with me , Orlando Lynch refused. He said I would have to pay in full or he would send my trucks back to Atlanta. They also presented paperwork to be signed showing I had complete delivery even though the owner Orlando did not know where my 2 trucks were. He tried to bully me into signing and paying for a complete delivery while only bringing 2 of my 4 trucks. I was also being charged by weight and distance due to it being an interstate move, but they never provided me with the weight tickets. They were actually going by the estimate rather than producing weight tickets to show the actual weight. They unloaded my trucks into storage units and did not deliver since I would not pay for a partial delivery and I finally got delivery due to a complaint I filed with The Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration and an investigation led to my belongings being delivered and Orlando was made aware that he left himself liable for 'Full Value Protection" due to all violations for this move. I paid this company $16,160.00, $2400.00 of that was to pack fragile collectible items, most of which arrived broken. The operations manager Tim Huff was present at the unload when it finally happened and was made aware of damages and has his own pictures of damaged items , but again it has been more than 4 months since they show receipt of my claim ,I was getting the runaround, now I am just being ignored. You are better off renting trucks and picking up helpers . This company is a complete scam. They do not deliver what they promise. This move was a fiasco.. Very unprofessional, not all what they advertise to be. I have followed their own instructions for a claim and they do not respond. The most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. DO NOT USE ATLANTA PEACH MOVERS.....Please spread the word with family and friends, No one should have this experience. Now they have another scam in the works with my damage claim and sending in fraudulent documents to insurance trying to reduce my "Full Value Replacement " claim to a "Released Value Claim " at .60 per pound. DO NOT HIRE ATLANTA PEACH MOVERS.....This company is a total scam. DO NOT TRUST THE BBB rating.. READ CUSTOMER REVIEWS INSTEAD .... RENT A TRUCK AND PICK UP HELP. THAT IS WHAT THEY DO....

  3. Movers did not show up.

I would not recommend hiring Atlanta Peach Movers for your move. I do not usually spend any time writing negative reviews, but since moving and relocating can be one of the most stressful experiences of your life, I want to share my experience in hopes it will spare someone the pain of dealing with this company. Our move is still not done, but so far there have been major mistakes in the following areas: Logistics, Communication, and customer service and accountability. 1.       Logistics: Items did not fit in one truck and we still do not know when the second round of items will be delivered 4 days after they picked them up: We are moving from Atlanta to the East coast. On Saturday, The movers showed up (late) with a truck that looked too small to hold our items. My husband advised them that they would not be able to fit everything in that truck and the supervisor ignored his advice. I couple of hours into the move, even the inventory person said that it would not fit and the supervisor continued loading into the small truck. An hour later a larger truck showed up to bring pads for the movers. At that point my husband advised the supervisor to switch to the larger truck and they ignored his advice again.  8 hours later, after trying to make everything fit without success, they decided that they had to leave a bunch of our things behind and have someone pick them up the next day. They showed up (late again) the following day, picked up the items and said their logistics person (Tim) would call my husband to let him know when the second shipment will be delivered. We were not told when the second half of our things would be delivered and the movers were a NO SHOW today to deliver the first truck. The sales person said they could make the delivery today at 9am. He also said (we have it in writing) that the driver would confirm if that delivery would work when they picked up the items. The driver confirmed twice that they would deliver today at 9am. He also said the logistics person (tim) would give my husband a final confirmation of delivery and he never called. I had to take a day of work and spent $$ and hours of my time getting parking permits for my city so the moving truck could deliver today. 2.       Communication: We do not know who is responsible for making the decisions and providing communication regarding our move. The sales person said a delivery today at 9 was possible but that the driver/crew supervisor could confirm the days they picked up the items. The pick-up crew supervisor confirmed delivery for today at 9 twice (once on Saturday and another time on Sunday). When my husband inquired about the second delivery because the first was supposedly set to deliver today, we was told that the logistics person would call him. He never heard from him.   3.       Customer Service:  They said they would deliver at 9am today and would call 30min earlier to give us a heads up. I called at 9:30 after I had not heard from anyone. I was put on hold for a long time and was told to wait until 10 since they are usually an hour late.  I insisted that they communicate with the driver to confirm they were on their way. After being put on hold for at least another 20min they informed me that I had misunderstood things and that they were schedule to deliver on Saturday. I asked to speak with an executive at their company since I am getting the wrong communication from everyone and they said all of their executives are in a meeting. It has been 4 hours and no one from the management team has called yet. 4.       Accountability: In addition to the faulty logistics, no show delivery and bad communication, no one is taking accountability. The sales guy blames it on logistics; the logistics guy says that the pick-up crew supervisor shouldn’t have given us that delivery time and that those only come from him. In conclusion, our biggest mistake was hiring this company.  I will have to take more days without pay from my job and will have to get a hotel for my family because they did not delivered my furniture as I was told and there is still no clarity on why this would happen. I will also have to pay again and spend hours going to the local police station to pick up the street permits for the movers to come on Saturday. This has been the WORST experience we have ever had with a company. Please stay away.      .
