1. Authority Moving Group

   If I could give them a minus rating, I would. I booked a move with them, than needed to back out because our sale fell thru. They had required a 25% deposit which amounted to over $3500. The deposit was not refundable after 30 days. My 1st mistake was agreeing to their terms. When I realized that I had no idea when I would be moving, I pleaded my case, and they agreed that if I signed a document about the refund, they they would send me $1000 refund. I signed the paperwork, and thanked them for their understanding and cooperation. Then they mailed me a check that I deposited and 5 days later it was returned, NSF. We finally sold our house, and we used United Van lines, who required no deposit, and gave us as good a deal as Authority initially offered. Authority movers are not honest, their scam artists, and I would not used them if they were the last moving company on earth! Read the other reviews. They have left many people high & dry!! DO NOT USE AUTHORITY MOVERS!! YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!

2. Authority moving

   I was told they would bring a 26 ft truck for $7,500 I tried for 2 weeks to call them to ask them how to pack things no one ever returned my call I got my bank involved which informed me if I canceled it that I would lose $2,700 so finally they called me because the bank was involved. They were supposed to call me the day before September 23rd for a head count of my items which they did not do. The guys driving the truck called me and said they would be here on the 24th I told them they were supposed to be here on the 23rd when they finally showed up they told me it wasn't going to be $7,500 it was going to be $17,000 so I have a choice to either cancel and lose my deposit or pay $17,000 so I told him to stick it up their butt and I took the loss of $2,700 this company is a scam

3. AUTHORITY MOVING GROUP IS A SCAM

   This company is great until they have your money. Booked a move with them, paid a $1400 deposit and no movers showed up. Been trying to get refund back and you cannot talk with anyone but customer service. I tried for eight weeks, calling and emailing everyday, and never got one call or response. Total SCAM. Be careful. This is an awful company who steals your money. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

4. Avoid at all costs

   These people are the worst - their customer service is horrible and even after cancelling I didn't get my money back. They're a total scam, don't fall into their trap over the phone.

5. Phone estimates are Deceiving

   I spend more than an hour in the phone giving them all the details of things that needed to be moved, they gave me an estimate and then the day of the move, the movers come and asked for $1500 extra or they wouldn’t do the move! what can you do at that point? Cancel your moving?
   
   No, if you do it they will keep half of the total cost that you already pay!
   
   The estimates are totally deceiving!

6. They are liars and thieves!

   HUGE RED FLAG that you cannot get ahold of ANYONE at this company by phone or email. All they have is a generic answering service with two women who say they will "take a message". But it literally goes nowhere.. You cannot get ahold of anyone and they do not answer your emails back. It's been over two months and the refund they promised me has never been received. I doubt at this point I will get it from them, so that means not only will I not receive any services, but they pocketed my $872 that I paid for my deposit. I followed the directions per their cancellation procedures and I received confirmation that I would receive a refund in the mail. That was the last time I heard from them, which was back in July 16th. NO response or follow-up after to my multiple requests, calls and emails. ZERO. It's crazy because all I wanted was confirmation that my refund was even sent?? Or if they sent it to the correct address. Nothing. I have heard NOTHING back from them. So my only conclusion is they are liars and thieves. Do not use this company!!! They are super sketch. James Perkins my rep is a wolf in sheep clothing. He will desert you the second he gets your money and will not call, email, or follow up after. Pathetic excuse for a company and horrible way to treat customers. DO NOT USE THEM!

7. Company -Scam and thieves

   They are frauds and thieves! they stole my file cabinet(all my important papers. Try to contact no answer. charged me extra cost and wouldn't deliver until pay them, said they would leave and wouldn't let me check. I have to file charges against them in the state my storage came from Las Vegas, not in RI. I was left with missing and damaged items. I paid over $5,000. 2bedroom apartment

8. Worst Company- SCAM

   This company is HORRIBLE. Worst group of people gathered in one business. They gave me a bogus quote, then hired 2 guys from Craigs List and then will not return my customer service calls. Ive left at least 15 messages. I out down a deposit of $1000, did not do the move with them and then when real movers showed up, I realized they underbid my move by 3000 Cubic feet, RUN Don't WALK. They also told me I could only pay by ACH check. Also major scam, when you pay that way, you can not dispute with your bank. THEY ARE SCANDELOUS LIARS

9. READ! SORT REVIEWS FROM LOWEST RATINGS! NEVER AMG

   Never use this company. Make sure you go to Google Review, and sort the reviews by "LOWEST RATING" before you make a decision. I hope you decide AGAINST this company. Make sure you tell others NOT to use this company as well.
   
   Here is my case:
   
   I had a call with James Perkins. He was very kind and helped me throughout the process. Because of him, I proceeded and made the deposit. I paid $700+ deposit using ACH. Later, I read Google Reviews sorting from the lowest rating -- oh my god, people tell tragic moving stories using this company! Within 70 hrs, I followed the company's cancellation policy and canceled my service reservation. I called James Perkins to inform him. Within minutes of the call, I received a call from Steven Ross from the company. He wrote me an email promising a full refund on Jul 7. Later, I battled with the customer service and the billing department. They do not use direct deposit and insisted of mailing me a check. They use a team of messengers to talk between you and the billing department. They take your messages and will call you back. They never call me back. They said they were going to mail me a check. The rest of the story, it has been more than 1 month, and I still have not received my $700+ refund and have not received a call back.

   

10. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! ITS A SCAM!!

    If there was a way to leave negative stars I would. This company is terrible and they falsely advertise their services. AMG is NOT a moving company despite the photo on their page of a man wearing AMG branded clothes. They are broker, but they won’t tell you that. Once they collect the initial payment, they shop your job around to movers who will do the job for very cheap rates. Theses other companies are not required to abide by any of the details in the contract you sign with them. Additionally, they do not stick with you through the move. Once you pay, they disappear and all your calls are routed to an answering service. And they never call you back. only time I got response back from them was AFTER I contacted the Better Business Bureau. At which point they responded one time and then disappeared again.
    
    Not only is the customer service practically non-existent, but the amount they quote you will be at least $1,000 off. When the third party company comes to move your things onto the truck, they will get all on the truck AND THEN they’ll tell you that you AT LEAST $1,000 more and half of it needs to paid right then. And there’s nothing you can do. Then the third party company that picks up your stuff will shop the cross country move to yet another third party company, and they will also tell you that you more than what you agreed to pay with the first third party company. You can pay it or they won’t deliver your things. And keep in mind, the company you originally booked with, Authority Moving Group, they will not help you.
    
    THIS IS A SCAM!!! TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! THEY ARE LIARS!!! Please do not book with them. I’ve had a terrible experience. And it’s happened to so many other people! The reviews on their page are lies! If you google “Authority Moving Group Reviews” you’ll see the truth. Take your money to a reputable company. It may cost you more, but it’s worth your sanity and the safety of your things.

11. Movers left without my stuff because I wouldn't give them more money!!

    This company is terrible. On my moving day, I spent 3 hours going back and forth with the customer service rep (had to keep leaving messages because there was only one person) because my movers kept telling me that they needed more money for the move upfront. They then wanted me to write the money order in their name when I was told to write it to the companies name. Speaking of that...the company I was given wasn't known by the movers. I tried to contact the actual moving company, but had to leave a message again. I eventually got a hold of them and they said they had never heard of me and told me that I might be getting scammed! Not something you want to hear. I finally demanded to speak with the movers boss who informed me that he works for 2 different moving companies and the other company the movers knew was the other company. I told that I called the contact number I was given and was told that I might be getting scammed, and the guy tells me that there are 2 moving companies with the same name...therefore AUTHORITY MOVING GROUP gave me the WRONG information!!!!! I called the customer service rep no less than 6 times in 3 hours, because every time I thought things were resolved, something else came up. At one point the "foreman" (if you can all him that) told me to hang up with them because they didn't know what they were talking about. Finally after 3 hours, I thought that we had things settled and the "foreman" asked for extra money again!! When I told him no, he left and told me that someone else would have to come!! After calling the customer service rep AGAIN...she put me on hold...after 45 minutes a truck pulls up and it's the same guys who left in the first place...at this point I definitely no longer trust these men and called her back. I told her that they broke the contract when they left and I was told by them that different people were coming, so that is what I expected. They of course couldn't get me anyone and I told her that I wanted my deposit back because they didn't hold up their end of the bargain. She told me that the manager and/or the assistant manager would be calling me. I'm glad I didn't hold my breath because it's been 4 weeks and haven't heard a word. Do yourself a favor and rent a POD and hire local people to load and unload for you...much cheaper, less hassle, and they care about their customers because they take responsibility if something goes wrong!

12. Do not hire this company!

    They say we’re here for you all the way but they are not! The first call they do everything to get your money but after that , forget it. No return phone calls. They told me a 5 star company was going to take care of me. That was Atlantis Van Lines and after 5 weeks I still don’t have my belongings! This company is a broker to find you a mover. After that they disappear. NO ONE WILL RETURN MY PHONE CALL. They told me it would cost about $6,000 for the move. Atlantis is charging me $10,600 then you don’t know what’s going on. Atlantis sent me an email on June 19 that a truck was enroute. Never showed up. Then they told me it will be here July 7, it never showed up. They make a great sales pitch but don’t fall for it. Take my advice and do it yourself. This is BS!!

13. Mive from Pittsburg pa to Florida

    Horrible. Absolute nightmare!!! Biggest mistake ever!! Quoted one price when movers arrived wanted to charge 3 times the quoted price. Had to rent a uhaul for the balance of my move!!! Not enough room on the truck even if we were to pay the additional fee. Horrible customer service will not return phone calls, text messages or emails. Just terrible!

14. Don't ever book with them big time cheaters

    These guys are big time scammer until you pay the money they are sweet and after that they show their colors. It's stressful and worst nightmare dealing with them and their quality center.

15. Prices changed significantly & we had lots of lost and damaged items.

    I would never use this company. They are so bad I'm committed to making sure others don't have the experience we had. These clowns moved us from Michigan to Florida in late 2019. They are not a mover. They get around being held accountable by just facilitating your move. They pick the cheapest company to move you and then wash their hands of you on the day of your move. We had significant amounts of damage. Things that can't be replaced. They also lost several items including parts of our bedroom outfit including the footboard to our bed.
    
    They never did anything to rectify this and never compensated us. These are the last people you should use
