  1. Disgraceful

7/27/2021 we sign a contract with Colonial Van Lines, who brokered our move to BIG DREAM MOVERS HOUSTON, TX, to move our belongings from Washington to Tennessee. We were told that the packers would show up on 8/15 at 8:00am, no show. Called coordinator, were told they would be there on 8/16 at 8:00am, no show. On 8/17 they arrived at 10:00am. Everything had to be out of the house by 8/18 and that the home would belong to new owners on 8/19. Well, you guessed it, on 8/18 at 11:00am the driver shows up with a Budget Rental truck. The loaders can only stand around, driver now has to label each and every item to be put on the truck. This takes 2 hours. At 5:00pm the driver and loaders leave for the day and there is still furniture in the house. Come morning 8/19, and legally the new owners own our belongings and the second Rental truck. The second truck was only ½ to ¾ full when the loading was done, doors are closed, and they leave. Little did we know that these two trucks went straight to a storage facility in the area and our belongings were unloaded. As far as we know that is where they are today. Contract says our est. del. date would be between 9/3 and 9/5. On 8/20 we get a call from Big Dream Movers, this is our first knowledge that they have been brokered by Colonial to move our belongings. They are requesting an addt'l $8,000 even though contract says after initial dep. given on 7/27 remainder was to be paid at delivery. Giving CC information and authorizing $8,000 to a company we had never heard of was against our comfort level but we obliged and were told that they would be delivering our belongings on 8/30 between 8 and 10am. When asked for a receipt for the $8,000 I was ignored until threatened to have credit card company pull the monies back. Well, 8/30 came and went no delivery, no word. I called Colonial and they did not know anything about it. After some back and forth they say that the delivery would now be 9/3. You guessed it, 9/3 came and went, no delivery. I called Colonial again and again some back and forth, delivery will be on 9/5. Yep, 9/5 comes no delivery, no call. We want to know where our belongings are. No one seems to know or just won’t tell us. We keep requesting this information and no matter who we speak with comeback is “we will look into it and call you back.” No return calls. Finally we receive an email from Colonial letting us know that our “new” delivery date is 9/12. Need I go on? We near that date, I get a call, del. is now 9/30, and our belongings are in storage in Washington. This is the first we hear of this .We then get an offer of $50/day compensation for not delivering our belongings from 9/3 to 9/30. The $50/day doesn't even cover 3 meals a day for 2, even at McDonald’s. Where do they think we are sleeping at night, in a tent? In fact, we are sleeping in the home that we purchased but with no furniture, kitchenware, towels, TV, chairs, table, etc. We have borrowed two “blow-up” mattresses, purchased towels from Goodwill, paper plates, plastic utensils and borrowed 2 chairs. All because Colonial brokered a company that has the worst reviews we have ever seen. Of course we did not know at the time of signing that they would be brokering Big Dream Movers out of Houston. All along we have been lied to. We wanted to know where the storage place was so that we could hire someone in Washington to go there, load our belongings and bring them to us. Nope can’t do that. They have a contract with Big Dream Movers and they could be sued. Yep, you could be sued but not by Big Dream Movers. Now they offer us a measly $50/day. This is no longer an inconvenience it is abuse of the customer who has put their trust in Colonial to pick up their belongings and deliver them in a timely manner. At that point they left us no alternative but to hire a lawyer. She has written two letters to Colonial and Big Dream Movers and no response. She called them and we have called them both leaving messages for a call back. None are received. Also we will request the return of the $8,000. Not sure whose dream they are referring to but definitely not ours. On 9/16.2021 we receive an email they will be bringing our belongings to us in two separate loads on separate days, the first load to be on 9/20-9/21. On 9/20-9/21 both days have come and gone and no belongings. What a surprise! However on 9/20 we do get a call from Colonial saying they have a new contract. The new contract says we owe an additional $11,258.29 and must pay over $13,000 to get our belongings because the weight has gone from 16,628 lbs to 24,640 lbs. even though that is 8,000lbs more than the payload of the two rental trucks combined. It is now 9/23/2021. We are in limbo even with the hiring of an attorney who cannot get the information on where our belongings are. We have also asked for the weigh tickets, no response. Stay Tuned!

  2. Never work with this company

Moving from TX to CA and it is a horrible experience every step of the way. We have not received our stuff yet and they will never answer your calls/text and not sure when we will receive them. Very unprofessional people to work with.

  3. Worst company ever

We moved from Oregon to Florida using Colonial Van Lines, they sub contracted it to Big Dream Movers from Houston Texas, right from the beginning it was a disaster, took over 2 months to get our household goods, when we did things there where wet boxes decomposing and furniture either destroyed or damaged, we where charged double the estimate, they wanted to settle for $350.00 for thousands of dollars in damages, this is defiantly the worst company we have ever dealt with and we have moved many times including a international move, beware of these 2 companies you will be scammed, they come off as reputable company and some how have good reviews, but if you search more you will find that this is the norm for these companies, it is some kind of game for them and they are good at it
