Wonderful customer service.
We had a great experience with Big Man Movers. The staff was polite and on time. They packed us up-moved us-unpacked us in a matter of 3 days. They wrapped all of our furniture to avoid damage and had NO breakage. They made our transition into our new home seam-less. Thanks Guys!! .
Chaotic, does not stand behind promises.
We had several issues with this mover. Despite having had two walkthroughs of the houses to be moved, the day before the scheduled move he said he needed to up the price by over 30% due to the amount to be moved. As this was the day before we had scheduled to move, and arranged for a medical transport service to move my terminally ill mother, we felt we had no other choice. Even with this, the trucks he sent were too small and we had to leave behind/abandon a number of furniture items and tools as we were up against a hard deadline. He only assigned two people to do most of the loading and all of the unloading resulting in a load time of over 12 hours and an unload time of over 10 hours. At the destination, despite assurances that his service included disassembly and reassembly of furniture and appliances, things were left unassembled, and in the wrong rooms, many heavy things downstairs that should have been upstairs. The owner drove up to collect the remaining money and move things, with limited success. During the move three pieces of furniture were damaged, one solid teak coffee table was deeply gouged, a teak bookcase was destroyed, and the trim on a teak cabinet was damaged/pulled loose. He has refused to start an insurance claim to pay for these damages. When we paid him the final bill, we had the agreement that we would not pay $250 of it, and any damages over that amount would be submitted to his insurance for coverage. At this point I am in the process of filing a lawsuit to recover damages. Avoid at all costs.
