  1. Grossly Overcharged, Untrained Movers, Careless Handling.

    BR Movers provided me an estimate of $887 to move from my townhome to a two bedroom apartment and to take my other items to Cube Storage on Ft. Meade Road in Laurel, MD. I moved in the same development with the storage 10 minutes away. The movers broke imported china and crystal, art pieces, damaged my entertainment center, china cabinet and my wooden Secretary. They also left heavy pieces of glass table tops in my house and my apartment which meant, I had to pay two men to take those items to the storage. They also overcharged me, $2,900; 3 times the estimate I received. Mind you, I moved in the same development. I requested that they pay me $1,000 which was an underestimate because my laptop was stolen as well. I have not received a responsible response from them yet, my move was in December. In addition my custom made fabric sofa with rolled arms is upside down in the storage with a rolled arm on the bear floor when I provided them with furniture covers. They are completely ignoring my complaint and request. I have gotten feedback from other movers who refer to BR Movers as mafia behavior. I agree wholeheartedly after looking at the numerous complaints they have online. I sent them a full description of damages with pictures over 30 days ago and never received an apology or a responsible response. I would not recommend them for anything. They need to be more business-like and responsible and stop grossly overcharging people. Geri.

    We did a last minute move and had trouble finding a qualified mover for an office.
    I called with only a few days before we needed to be in the new space. BR-Movers excepted the job in short period of time, they arrive at our office and carefully wrapped and packed and moved all the office items.
    The pricing was reasonable.
    I have no complaints and will recommend.

  3. BR Movers steal customer Items.

    This company should not be in business. They are essentially predators who prey on people at a vulnerable moment. They don't serve the customers properly. The truck driver is not in a situation to identify what all the items to be delivered at the destination. He places some else's items at the destination and says that our job is completed. My situation is completely different. They have packed all my belongings from the origination. They have made all the inventory. At the destination, as I am out of state I have asked one of my friend to accept my delivery on my behalf. When driver has arrived, my friend was asked to pay the amount even before they started unloading. They claimed that they will unload only when they receive the amount. Having no option my friend has paid total amount. After that they started placing all the items inside which are not mine. And when I have called my friend, I am able to find out that they were delivering someone else's stuff to me. Not at all one of my item is kept inside. When my friend has told them this information, then they checked the inventory and started to unload my items. During this interchange of items they did not deliver 3 of items. Among them one of the item is very valuable and personal to me. I am so sentimental to the items inside them. And my friend has clearly seen that particular item but as he is not aware of my stuff properly he did not ask the truck driver about my item. I forgot to mention that they have delivered someone else's item at my place. That is a Commode Plumbing stick, which I have kept aside. When have claimed about my lost items, they are saying that the truck is empty when it has gone back. And neither of the other customers have received my item. So they say that I am lying to them as I have not mentioned about the others stuff on the first day which I have ignored due to two reasons. 1. I am in great tension of my valuable items. 2. As it is commode plumbing stick, I have completely ignored the item. Now they are not even picking up my calls. They are also saying that I am wasting their time just for the sake of fake claims. They are not understanding the value of my items. I cannot afford to loose such valuable items. Also I cannot afford to get them back.

    I sincerely advice not to use these movers in future at all. They don't understand our concern and they don't even listen to us.

    This is the first time I have hired movers for a move (short move from Washington to Alexandria) and from that start this company was great!
    They got back to me with a quote immediately, and compared to another 5-star company in the area, their prices and process were better which made it an easy choice.
    Not only do you get a huge truck, but also THREE movers.
    From scheduling about a month in advance, the follow up from Ron was awesome and he would always respond right away with any questions I would have.
    On the day of the move, the crew was running a little late and called me to let me know, with plenty of time in advance. As soon as they did get to my old apartment though, they wasted no time and got started on packing the truck right away. As soon as we got to my new apartment (we all arrived at the same time, even taking different routes), they again started working immediately.
    Even with some issues (our couch would not fit down the stairs), they worked at it relentlessly, but also knew when to give up as to not waste any time. They didn't even mind when my roommate, our families, and I went to grab lunch next door - they kept at it. Overall, the entire move took 5 hours (the estimate was 5-7), and I can honestly say they were so efficient, wasted absolutely no time, all of our furniture arrived in one piece (no scratches and anything they took apart they put back together), and really made what could have been a stressful day extremely easy. They even arranged our rooms for us with what made the most sense so we wouldn't have to do it later!

  5. Worst Company Ever!!

    So, I hired BR-Movers to move my family from a townhouse to condo that was 2 streets over. They came early, which was fine. They MADE me sign the paperwork saying that the house was empty when they left and the truck was empty when they were done BEFORE they even began work. When I asked why I was signing it early, he got aggravated and said it was the policies. I asked if I could sign it as they did the work, he said no! They then had difficulty getting my chaise lounge chair out of my bedroom, and the let out love seat out of the 3rd bedroom. They scuffed up the walls and doors, badly (scratches in the wood and walls). They wound up having to remove the doors to both rooms. When I showed him where a few of the wall marks and door marks, he ask to used MY paper towels and cleaning agent - which was packed. So he used a paper towel I did still have out. They were closing up the truck when I noticed that they still hadn't loaded a few lightstands, heaters, nor had they fixed the scratches on the walls. We get to the new place and as they come in with boxes, I try to tell them where they go (even though they were marked with which room they belonged to), but was advised that they decided it would be easier to bring all boxes to living room, then sort them out. Well, the problem was that when my 4 hours was up, they still hadn't moved all the boxes to their destination. Now, in all fairness, there were about 4 boxes that were not labeled, but all the rest were. I went through them all. They also said they could not get the sofa on the elevator to the 4th floor and it was going to cost me an extra $150 to bring it up the stairs. Not happy, but fine, I paid that. At the end of the 4 hours I asked if they were still going to move the boxes, he said it was going to cost more for the additional time (rates are per hour). He was still trying to leave when I advised him that the living room tv stand hadn't been put together. He was very agitated and the option for them to stay longer was not available. He was on his cell phone (I interrupted his call to tell him about the tv stand because he was literally walking out the front door), so he put his phone down - not disconnected the call, and put his bag down, and begrudgingly unboxed the heavy glass and put the stand back together. He had me go out to the truck to ensure there were no boxes left and used only his cell phone tiny light to peer in to the truck. I couldn't see in there - at all. It was pitch-black, so I trusted them AND gave a generous tip not knowing about the still existing scuffs back at the old house nor the boxes still left in the living room that belong elsewhere. Also of note, not all of the furniture was wrapped in blankets, only one side and they used tape to hold it together. I hadn't seen that until they got to the new place. To make matters worse, I called this morning to complain and spoke to Jennifer who, instead of transferring me to someone in management, transferred me to the man that was at my house yesterday! Then we began speaking, he starts arguing. I advised that I no longer wanted to speak to him and asked for Jennifer again. They said she was on the phone and wanted me to leave a message, when I said no, they put me on hold and then finally transferred me to the owner. Turns out while I'm speaking, the mover was in the background yelling to the owner, and then the owner calling me a liar. He asked if I signed the paperwork, and as I tried to explain that they made me sign it BEFORE they did any work, he then asked if I went through the old house to ensure all items were out. No, I'm paying them and had to come up with a moving list, so I would think they collect everything on the list. Then I'm trying to explain about the boxes and I can hear the mover still in the background yelling to the owner, who's still yelling at me. When he tried to say that it was MY idea to bring the boxes to the living room instead of where they belong - I just lost it. That's a ridiculous idea I never would have said, and really who moves like that. You would essentially be moving the boxes twice now. I tried to have them move to the right rooms the firs time was TOLD no. By this time my family had arrived and did hear this entire conversation. I asked the owner (Prosper) what he was going to do about it and he said he could send me a claim form because he was trying to help me, but that he knows his guys and knows how they operate and the mover is telling him that I'm lying - about everything - and that it must be MY fault that I didn't check the old house before we all left AND it was my fault that the boxes didn't get to where they should have gone. He got very belligerent and nasty, so I advised that I was going to file a BBB complaint and hung up.

    These guys showed-up early to begin taking boxes and small stuff. They were careful with all fragile items and even took extra care to pack all artwork. I booked these movers on a recommendation of a friend and after reading the reviews on a few sites. I was completely satisfied! The move went very smoothly and the job was finished just under the estimate. We would definitely recommend.

    I'm very pleased with the service from Br Movers, These guys walked me through the whole process answered all questions I had. They told me all the charges up front how long it would take. Basically took good care of me. The move was completely stress free! It was also awesome that I was able to book them kind of last minute (about 2 days before I was going to move). THANK YOU!!

    They were there on time and finished 20 minutes early. They're totally worth it! Call them!! they worked straight through a long day with only ten minutes break for couple of times. All their employees took the move very personally. The good thing was that my budget for the moving was enough for the price I was charged with. They indeed have affordable deals. I recommend them.

  10. Worst Moving Experience Ever.

    I am sorry to say that this was the worst moving experience I have ever had, and I have moved overseas before.  1.  The final price was three times what they had originally quoted me. 2.  While packing stuff up, extra charges kept piling up on top of their original quote. 2.  They didn't show up to deliver the items during the time they were scheduled for and had to rescheule for WEEKS after. 3.  Over 50% of the boxes were wet, dirty, completely smashed, and had to be retaped throughout the moving process. 4. My furniture was not broken, however everything was scratched up and chipped that I could no longer bear to use it. 5.  They were not very responsive throughout the process and very hard to get in contact with. I will never go with movers ever again because of this experience.  I will always move myself from now on.  Do not be fooled by the original great priced quote they have for you. .

The movers packed my items very well - I wasn't as prepared as I would have liked to be so thank goodness they brought materials. I received the items after 8 days (1 day after my new lease began). Everything was very well handled. Professional and efficient.
