Cali van lines DONT DO IT.
They did not follow instructions so the items I didn’t need where packed first forcing me to pay three times as much as the estimate. several boxes and a exercise machine did not make it to my new home. Deliver Driver threatened to put my things in storage because he wanted to charge me more. forced me to pay cash, damaged my items disassembled things out of my presence and lost my belongings! they will only pay .60 a pound so u lose they win. This has been a nightmare!! DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS U WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF!
Terrible experience/Unprofessional, Pls save yourself the heartache!
This has been a terrible experience! I travel a lot for the military and when Gary Curtis (California Vanlines) originally wanted to deliver I was already out of town (no prior notice, he called as the truck was already in rt). Nevertheless he still wanted to deliver, in spite of me not being there and when I asked him for another delivery date he began to raise his voice and try to force me to take the delivery date(very unprofessional). Once he calmed down we agreed on a delivery date. Once the truck arrived(Aug2016), come to find out it was a partial delivery. We were not told this was a partial, I had to call him and ask about the rest of my items and then he admitted that it was a partial delivery and the rest would be delivered the following month! I was very displaced by this deceitfulness. There were items in our delivery that didn't even belong to us(I know someone is missing a headboard), this is just sad! Here it is 9 mos. later and we still have not received the rest of our things. I have items in there that belonged to my daughter, who is now in Heaven (So I don't want a settlement, I really want my items, the items that rightfully belong to me)! This has been an extremely dishearten experience and still is until I get all my belongings!
Great move! Scary at first.
We hired California Van-Lines to do our move from San Diego, California to Chicago, IL. We got a lot of calls and spoke to various movers but they all seemed like they would talk bad about each other, some would even ask me about prices I got from other moving companies. Some would talk bad about brokers and shipping companies. I was overwhelmed with the horrific way of getting a quote. I was lucky to get a call from Marcelo with California Van-Lines. When I got to speak with Marcelo, I was able to realize so much information was hidden like fees. Other companies were talking about being robbed and prices doubling when their prices were much lower. I got a lot of information, plus my quote was $4275 and it stayed that way. The price didn't change and it stayed the same. All of my furniture was packed, loaded carefully in the truck. The guys do it by cubic feet, so they utilized all space possible, no gaps in between. They packed both my TV s for free and gave me free mattress covers plus packed my huge mirror that I love and my picture frame. All for free. Marcus and Jose were great, the guys did a great job. This was all done last minute, my husband and I received a better offer to run a business in Chicago. We took it! This company did everything perfect, we did have a few extra boxes, but we got rid of a few items before the move so that helped keep the price the same. We did have a few items with broken dishes but it was really our fault, we didn't pack it well. We wanted to save money and minimize the amount of boxes but it ended costing our dishes. Atleast those are replaceable but for other future customers, make sure to add more boxes to your quote, and list all of your furniture pieces that way you know what to pack. The worst compnay ever.
I just moved from Illinois To Ohio , I had only 1 sofa a bed and few boxes to move .Cindy gave me a minimum rate of $1050.00 but when the driver showed up I discovered they are a broker and the price went up to $2860.00. there was no one in the office to talk to because it was the weekend and when they finally answered all you can hear is bunch of people yelling .
do not use this broker company. I'm stuck with almost $3000.00 bill or they wont release my furniture . ID Number.
