  1. Do not ever use this moving company.

They way over-charged from their estimate for us, we were given a estimate of 1800.00 to move a three bedroom house less than a tenth of a mile to our new location, they never told us that we would have to pay in cash until they had the truck loaded and then told us it wouldn't be unloaded until they were paid. They spent more time talking then they did working. Several items were scratched and box after box were mislabeled as to what was in them. We ended up paying 4200.00 for the move because they held our furniture hostage until they were paid. Again, don't ever use this company.

  2. Fast and on time.

I had called to schedule a move for my rental. My renters had moved out on me and I needed a mover to pick up the furniture that was left . Last minute call with a explanation and capital city understood. Showed as expected and even picked up some of the other garbage that the renters left. Great. I would have give them 5 stars however, one of them was a little grumpy. Hey so be it for the price and expedience I would use them again . And so should you.

  3. Heavy Heavy Heavy.

Second time around moving and using CAPITOL CITY MOVERS and it doesn't get any better. Was I wrong! At the new house we had a 8 seat sectional couch with the recliners and pull out bed built within. HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY! Do to new construction the front door would not be a option for this particular piece of furniture. (Not enough porch built yet) without hesitation these movers carried by hand my 350 pound sectional off the walkway through tall grass around the front, side and all the way to the back side in through the patio door then house door back to the front family room that had 4 steps down into. Without a single rest, without a rub, scratch or tear. As if that was not bad enough my wife later decided to move that same couch into a adjacent room. No complaints from the movers, no extra charges. Just great service. The move lasted a little longer than expected, However between the heat index, new construction and my wife it was to be expected. Great job guys and well done, thanks. If you are moving these are the movers that you need that you want.

  4. Your Best Moving Choice A+.

The movers arrived on time and relocated our third floor apartment furnishings in under five hours saving us money and time.. The movers where very nice and polite to work around our not so packed apartment. No damages and couldn't complain if I tried. Well done capitol city movers.

  5. Wonderful movers.

Larry and tony were a hoot. They made sure blankets was on everything so that there was not any damages. Price was a little more than I thought but in the end it was worth every penny. Thanks guys for moving our two story home with out damage.

  6. Met expectations.

The time that we scheduled with this company all seemed to go well. the company was on time and the movers were very fast and courteous.Took a little less time than my wife and I thought. Which ended up being great. We originally thought this would take two days since the time went by so fast we went ahead and moved the storage too. We are very happy with the way this move took place and would recommend them to any one that needs a dependable moving company.

  7. Move.

Two story 4 bedroom home the movers all in all did very well. In the beginning there was a little out of sync so we thought until we finished early I wish they told me about payment options in the beging other than that great cheap and professional job.

  8. Awesome job again.

Second half equally as good as the first. because the movers had done such a perfect move for our family, then comes our 90 year old fathers house that has been occupied since my childhood.(Meaning furniture on top of furniture) Tony,John and Larry showed up as agreed took one look and acted as though it would be nothing..Right.. 12 hours later they had moved a three bedroom home all the appliances and a six-foot 2800lb gun safe. I don't understand how there backs still work. Thanks guys for the spectacular move and most off all your due diligence in the matter. Without a hitch and received a repeat customer discount. awesome.

  9. Nice job.

I wanted to write this to credit the four movers that came out to our home. All of our stuff was wrapped and delivered as nice as possible . They were very polite and took the time to wrap and place all of our high end electronics, disconnected our ice maker as well as all of our appliances. The baby grand piano that has been in our family for two generations was disassembled and shipped without any damage even though they had to move it up two flights of stairs. The total cost for the move impressed me compared to previous moves. They deserve all the prompts for a move well done.

  10. Overcharged!!

Larry quoted me a minimum of 3 hours @ $85 to move belongings of a 1 bedroom apartment into a cargo van and move a king size bed and 5 drawer dresser to a local address in Pikeville. If these items required greater than the minimum 3 hours the recipient of the bed/dresser would pay the additional charge. The other furniture being moved would be free as we were donating it and he had a program for donations. The movers arrived 3.5 hours late in a white box truck with no markings of being Capital City Movers. When an hour late, I called Larry and he was not aware they were not at our place. They disappeared during the job for prolonged periods. The belongings were moved out of the apartment to the parking lot. They assisted loading one item in the cargo van the rest of the items had to be loaded by us. Everything was moved out of the apartment in 2.5 hours including the time they disappeared and the time the senior mover spent training the new hire mover.. I was prepared to pay the 3 hour minimum and I was then told there is an hour minimum travel time to cover cost of truck and gas. My move did not involve any travel time and I was not informed of this when I set up the move. The senior mover made me feel very uncomfortable and I had no choice but to pay him in cash. He would not accept a check or credit card which is another thing I was not told when I scheduled the move. They left with the other recipients belongings at 6:45pm and did not show up to deliver until after 8 pm. The place was at most 10 minutes away. It took 15 minutes to deliver the bed and dresser and they charged that person for 2 hours at $85.00. The 2 movers did not work 6 hours and therefore the move should not have been a 6 hour charge at $85 an hour. I emailed Larry explaining all of the above and requesting a refund of the $85 travel charge and reconsideration of the $170 charge paid by the other person and he responded immediately that he would look into the move and billing. A week later having not heard back from Larry led me to write this review so others are aware of the overcharging.

  11. Best move ever!

Sincerely I have moved many times over the years and have used a hand full of companies. I have never had such consistently great service with any other company as I did with Capitol city movers. I have used this company several times and from the moment I scheduled the job to the end they have always amazed me with there
willingness to do everything as should be. All the assembly of furniture and carefulness that it took to move my antiques was flawless. The service they provided in my opinion was well worth the time it takes to say thanks and great job. I would recommend them to anyone who expects professional, Polite and reasonably priced movers.

  12. Great Company.

Capitol City Movers took on a job for me that was a bit unusual to say the least. In the process of closing on a new home (60 days) and relocating for work to a new city, capitol city movers were there to save the day or should I say days when it came to my family's moving needs. They have already performed one move from Pikeville to Richmond and are scheduled to move me again from storage in Richmond to our new home in Berea. I can't thank these guys enough. Larry is a great captain of the ship and Robert is the jack of all trades when it comes to moving, packing, and driving (the dude could back a huge truck in between buildings that a truck should never go).

  13. Service and price.

Inspite of my own apprehension  which come to find out was exactly mine. With out Capitol City Movers I would have been lost. Every thing but the actual move was delayed or rescheduled. The movers arrived as scheduled and even called ahead of time to let us know who was coming out. They took apart our beds unhooked appliances and even offered a coupon that I did not have. since my last move I have referred them to my sister which loved them. Every thing that was estimated over the phone weeks earlier was the same at the end of the move. Actually they saved me a few dollars with the coupon. No damages and nice. Great job guys and we will use you all again if we ever move. .
