  1. CUSTOMER BEWARE

We hired Mr. Coopers moving service on April 16, 2021. We made arrangements to have 4 of his guys help load the UHaul trucks. One of his employees Taylor had his wife (old Lady) come to help out. The truth was Carol (the old lady) cased our place and stole valuable items from us. When calling Mr. Cooper he advised us that he was not responsible and he doesn't have insurance. I contacted the police but not much can be done. NEVER NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! oh and let me mention they did NOT fill the truck up and left tons of stuff all over the place. Lazy, worthless people and company.

  2. Never Hire this Company!!

Scheduled with this company several weeks before a move. The morning of the move I contacted the company because they were late and was told they would check and let me know..after 30 minutes, I called again was told they would be there in 10 minutes but THEY NEVER SHOWED UP!! Then they stopped answering my calls..as I waited in the August heat. By the time I found new movers, 4 hours later, it cost me almost double and I had to pay for an extra day for the truck rental. DO NOT ever use this company.

  3. Worse move in 40 years.

When Gary wasn’t there personally, workers threw my furniture into the U-Box, didn’t wrap furniture as promised. Writing bench came off in 8 pieces, many antique furniture pieces had moisture damage to their finish, one table missing an entire leg. Now they won’t respond with their insurance information. AWFUL experience.

  4. Superior service.

We used Carter to unload our UBoxes, as recommended by UHaul. Gary could not have been more helpful, and his crew was exceptional. They added us to an already busy holiday schedule as a favor. They were here on time, each member of the crew was courteous and worked hard (tattoos or not). They were done unloading 4 boxes in our two story home in two and a half hours, and everything was placed right where we wanted it. I cannot say enough about our positive experience with this unloading and with Gary and their crew.

  5. Damaged multiple items, loaded improperly.

This was our second time using Carter Moving. The first time, we used them to unload when we moved to Texas in Sept 2014. The crew was fast and fabulous, taking great care of our items. We used Carter this time in February 2018 to load our truck for our move from TX to FL. First, the crew arrived and immediately started to complain about the 2 hours they had to drive to get to us. They did this the ENTIRE time. Second, we had all boxes staged out of the way so that heavy furniture could be loaded first and boxes used to fill in gaps. They ignored me MULTIPLE times and took out all the boxes first. They did not load the truck properly, causing the load to not only be imbalanced, but they also did not load to the top of the truck. They loaded the truck so poorly we had to spend an additional FIVE hours unloading the truck and RELOADING it. As we unloaded, we found they took my antique dresser and threw it on top of my chest freezer, severely damaging both. We had extra moving blankets they didn't bother to use at all, they wrapped up the antique dresser ONLY in plastic wrap. But, they sure were worried about making sure that the MDF Walmart cube that was $15 had not one but TWO moving blankets to protect it. They told us the truck was full (which was because of their ineptitude and intentionally loading it to look full) and when I stood on top of the aforementioned MDF cube system, I could see that they had loaded with giant gaps and tried to hide it behind our mattress. We were able to reload the back half of the 26' truck and gained over 5 full feet of room front to back by repacking it the proper way. We still had to rent an additional trailer to move the heavy furniture they didn't bother with as directed to multiple times, but hey, they were tired from their 2 hour commute. The lost time from reloading the truck, the lost money from renting the trailer, the lost sleep before a 15 hour drive, the lost sleep that caused us to have to unexpectedly rent two hotel rooms were not even the worst things..
The worst is that we filed a complaint with moving help and Gary was super responsive to us, admitting fault and agreeing to refund us if only we could close the case with moving help because it hurts him :(. Well, a month later Gary stopped replying to us and no refund has been received. I am now going to have to file a court case and a case with my credit card to get this refunded since Gary doesn't want to keep his word. Shadiness at it's finest here. We used Carter Moving a second time based on the great job they did on unload but Gary and his crew really showed their true colors when they 'loaded' our truck for our move.

  6. Carter Moving.

I wish I had read the reviews for this company before I hired them for my move. They were recommended by Uhaul so I assumed they would be professional and reliable. Unfortunately I had the same experience as the other reviewers. I was overcharged and most of my furniture was damaged during loading. I contacted Gary and he said he would send me a refund check a month ago. I've contacted him several times and apparently he has no intention of keeping his word as he won't return calls or text messages.

  7. Buyer Beware.

BUYER BEWARE!! This company destroyed several items of our furniture and refused to deal with the problem when we tried to resolve it. Now we will be letting the courts decide. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! Gary Carter should not be in business and if you have been wronged by this company please report to the authorities.

  8. Horrible Company.

Recently moved from Texas to Missouri. Both my daughter and I are ADA. Gary Carter, owner, told me he was sending the "best team". When they showed up, they were covered with jail house tattoos. They had no supplies. I had to make 4 trips to the local U Haul store for supplies (which they were not going to use). They kept the clock running which cost me an extra $200 (while they smoked and drank in their car). When I arrived in Missouri, several antique, family and other items were broken, crushed and damaged. The owner will not return my call. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

  9. Damages.

I normally don't write reviews beyond a few words. Usually, I just click the rate button and avoid adding any text.

When setting up the appointment, I had requested that Gary have all furniture wrapped. I supplied 48 Uhaul blankets. Within 10 minutes of the start of loading, an employee who Gary stated was leading the project proceeded to lay a piece of expensive furniture on its side onto a furniture mover without initially wrapping the piece. While pushing that same piece up a ramp, one of the doors opened and broke. I had to demand that all furniture was to be wrapped prior to moving it.
About 20 minutes later, I watched the same employee shove a very heavy piece of furniture about a foot across our original hardwood floors before I stopped him. The owner Gary witnessed the incident and jokingly stated to his employee that he was fired. Gary then proceeded to wipe water onto one of the new scratches and assured me that the scratches would go away. I had to tell him that one should never put water on hardwood. After that, Gary disappeared to his vehicle, and he sat in his car for the remainder of the project which was about an hour.

I hired 4 workers for 2 hours. They moved 1 queen bed, 2 armoirs, 1 sideboard, 1 large dresser, 1 small dresser, 4 end tables, 1 small entertainment console, 1 small dining table, 6 chairs, 1 TV, some boxes and odds and ends small stuff, gym equipment, and some plants. It took them 2 hours and 20 minutes. Prior to leaving, the same employee who made extensive damages asked for the billing code. He told me that normally I would pay for a full 3rd hour, but it would be dropped due to the damages. Immediately afterwards, he asked me rate them highly right then so that they could get more work. Later that day, I found many other new scratches on the floor. I emailed Gary about the scratches. His response was that my floor already had scratches on it and that the scratches would be fine.

While unloading the truck, we found a broken TV. It had been placed directly on the bed of a 26' Uhaul truck which can bounce extensively while driving. During the load, I stated that I planned on moving the TV myself, but I was assured by one of Gary's employees that he would load my TV in a manner that would keep it safe. When I emailed Gary about this, his response is that they recommend moving all TVs in boxes which actually contradicts his employee's recommendation and actions.

In the end, the move was costly. I have had 4 other moving companies over the past 3 years with even lower ratings, and all of them caused much less in damages.
