  1. A great disappointment.

The first time I moved with this company, it was a great move.
So I called them again--much to my regret now. Both were local moves with a packing day, a moving day, and an unpacking day.
The first time, the same crew came all three days. The second time, only the driver and one other crew member were the same throughout. The first driver was mature, the second one had a superiority complex. I requested that my antique coffee table not be taken apart. About a week after move-in I had company. I was angered to find that the top wobbles, whereas it did not before the move. Then there is my roll-top desk. I saw the driver start removing the pull-out desk top and asked him not to do it. I said that it had never been removed for moving. He said it rattled. So what? It's in the desk, and the desk will be wrapped in a pad. He complained to the owner of the company that I was being difficult. The owner called me to request that I "let the driver do his work." Now the top doesn't fit in securely.

We also can't find items that the packers packed but the unpackers failed to unpack. These include a medium-sized desk clock, a pair of horseshoes, some office supplies. Our walk-in closet has heavy boxes on top of light, but we are senior citizens and can't move them around ourselves.

I wrote the owner an email expressing my dissatisfaction and annoyance over this move. He answered immediately with an "I'm sorry and want to make it better, let me know when is a good time to come out." I answered with several dates, to which he answered that he would have to let me know, since this is his busy time. I have not heard from him since--a period of about two weeks.

I cannot stress enough the old adage caveat emptor, let the buyer beware. One lucky good move does not a reputation make. Now I have to hire someone, at my expense, to help me with these issues. I would not hire this company again.
