Avoid if you want to move without a headache!

We made a big move from Atlanta, GA to Santa Clara, CA. We made the big mistake of choosing Economy to deliver our things. First issue is that we completed the online application and received a quote that was way under the actual price. Upon arrival of the movers our quote went up from $3200 to $4300. Which left us in a bind to decide whether to pay the massive increase or to quickly choose which things to leave behind.

We were without our furniture for over a month before ever getting any firm details on the delivery of our things. The worst part for us was the fact that we went a month with out certain necessities for our 4 month old child. Economy had very little sympathy and concern about that and simply calculated a miniscule $225 refund off of a $4300 bill. Although the delay was painful, it would have been more bearable had the lines of communication remained open. On two occasions, I called to check the status of our delivery. Both times, I was told that they would return my call in 30 minutes once information was gained. The first time, I waited an entire day before calling back to be told it should be shipping that weekend. This was a lie and so I had to call back again a week later only to get the same result of waiting on a return call 2 hours after they said I should hear back in 30 minutes. As if moving across country wasn't stressful enough, we've been hit with this bombshell of subpar, unprofessional service.

Although the workers were friendly, this company is well below professional. I would highly recommend anyone planning to make a move, long or short, avoid Economy Van Lines at all costs!
