  1. Local move

If I could give negative stars, I would. This company is a joke. We were quoted 3 movers, they showed up with 4, & charged us for the extra man, stating "it will balance out because the move will go quicker." Too bad they spent a lot of time standing around. They moved everything to storage & reassured us we didn't need to go to the storage facility because they would handle it all. If we would've known "handling it" meant breaking furniture & shredding boxes, we would have gone to supervise. When we had our furniture delivered we found several pieces broken & literally had foot prints on them, who was standing on my bookcase?! We were also missing a box & 6 chairs, which they kindly delivered THREE weeks later. We filed a claim for all the damages & had to follow up for more than 2 months. Once we finally received the check it was a measly amount, stating we should have gotten the extra insurance. I didn't realize we needed extra insurance for them to handle our stuff with care.

  2. First class moving and storage, Raleigh, NC (US DOT:1819020).

I hired this company (US DOT:1819020 & MC:660285) for my moving needs from CT to AR. I cannot express in words how terrible, bad and stressful this move was. Here are some of the reasons-
1.I paid for full packing service(included packing, unpacking, disassembly/assembly of furniture) but on the day of your move, I realized the guys who come to do the job has NO CLUE how to do their job.
2.The agent who makes you sign the contract DOES NOT EVER come in to picture again once contract is signed.
3.Initial estimate price from what I signed in the initial contract gets DOUBLED up by the time they pick up and deliver your goods.
4.Both days of moving (pickup and deliver days) were extremely stressful because workers were very rude, demands more money just to do their already paid job, if not they threaten you that they will not unload your goods.
5.Customer care representatives through out the move were completely unreliable, gives you false information, demand complete upfront payment irrespective of what was agreed upon at the time of signing the contract.
6.It took almost a MONTH to deliver when I was told that "average" delivery time would be in a week.My pregnant wife suffered greatly with so much delay in delivering our goods. It took toll both physically and mentally on both of us.
7.PLEASE PLEASE read the contract thoroughly, unfortunately I took their words and did not read the "small print" in the contract and realized later that words from the company agents and the contract are completely different!
8.Some of the furniture was damaged and some of the goods got lost. Unfortunately I did not take additional insurance based on my great experience with other moving companies in my past. With the basic coverage they provide, I did not even bother to file claim as the reimbursement will be in no where close to the cost of damaged/lost goods.
9.They charged additional hundred of dollars claiming that they have bring a small truck to pick up and additional hundreds for stairs at delivery place (despite providing the info to the agent prior to pick up)
    10. Bottom line, based on my extremely stressful experience with this company, I would never ever recommend this company to my family or friends.

  3. First Class Moving and Storage TERRIBLE.

This company had an address based in Atlanta Ga. They did not do in house estimates and the cost given by a subsidiary company Cross Country moving of $6793 ended up costing us >$22000 and a lot of damaged goods and missing items. They brought a truck that was too small for the job, ended up using 3 26 ft. trucks, then took them to a warehouse in NJ and transferring everything into a 53 ft. truck about 3 weeks later when they delivered it. We saw damages to at least 3 large pieces of furniture when it was first unloaded and were told to file a claim, nothing was written down. A leg on an expensive dining room table was split in two. There was a large floor lamp and a wrought iron plant stand that could not possibly have been forgotten to be loaded at the warehouse but they were not able to find them! Probably 30% of the boxes that were unloaded at the delivery site were wet and coming apart. We were told that it was raining when they transferred the goods from the 26 ft. trucks to the 53 ft. truck and they did not have enough help. LIKE THAT WAS A REASON for the damage and missing items?? One of the 26 ft. trucks apparently hit a street light that was on the origin property at the cost of $3400 in damages and they never addressed the attempted contacts to answer the charges. We have filed a complaint with the Dept. of Transportation (yes, there is a place to do that) and will file with the attorney general in the company's home state. We had never done an interstate move with a moving company and hope we never have to again. It sure was an expensive lesson and I hope we can recoup some of the money.

  4. Misleading Quote, increased charges.

I’m only giving this company one star because no stars is not an option. I got an estimate, added on 200 cubic feet for possible overages, and when they came to pick up my items they charged me over double. I even left behind several of the larger items and they still charged thousands more than the estimate. None of my furniture is oversized. When I spoke with “customer service” they were rude and refused to adjust the amount. I was told that they had their own trucks, but they showed up in a rental enterprise truck. They said that I would have the opportunity to see for myself that my items took the amount of space they claimed, but I did not. The final contract that I signed, under duress, was for $350 less total than they later invoiced me. They now say that I am responsible for their mathematical error. This entire move has been an expensive nightmare.
