  1. Worst moving company ever!

Worst moving company ever!! Do not let them rip you off! They showed up in a Uhaul truck to move my 3 bedroom house and charged me for two hours in advance. The driver showed up without a driver's license, so I had to drive the truck onto the military base.I was told that my house could be moved in 2 hours but it could take up to 4 hours at the most. 8 hours later I owed them $400+ and only half of my house was moved to the new house. I spoke with the owner, he did not care or offer to take money off, offer to move the rest of my house at a discount rate or free of charge. He could not even admit or apologize for sending too small of a truck because he forgot that I had a 3 bedroom and told the movers that I had a 2 bedroom. His reply was "it's the customer's decision to accept the services when the trucks shows up for the job", knowing that he would never give a 100% refund if the services were turned down. The movers did not work diligently at all. One of the movers was new so the other guy had to stop what he was doing to show the new guy how to properly cushion glass table tops and loading techniques. If this guys is still learning, there should have been a third mover. The customer ends up paying more money because the new guy doesn't really know what he is doing, that is not fair to him or the customer. The owner micromanages and called every 45 min to talk for 10-15min at a time, so no work getting done during that time. It was a nightmare!! Do not call them whatever you do!

  2. Very unprofessional and dishonest.

I called Florida State Moving to move two vending machines. They quoted me 3 hours for the move with two men. I explained to them that the vending machines were loaded and extremely heavy; approximately 1000lbs a piece. I told them that I can unload the machines over the weekend which would lighten it up by 200-300 lbs if they think it was too heavy. They said that it wasn't a problem and can do it the next day. The movers called me around 3pm the next day to let me know that they were about to leave to pick up the items from my business where I was not currently present. At 5PM, I called trying to get an update and they called back saying that they were able to get one machine on the truck but having a challenge getting the other. I was 20-30 minutes away but offered to drive there to unload the machines to lighten up the load. They said it was okay and they will try to work around it. They would call me if they have any problems. I waited again and did not hear anything so I called back at 6:20pm to get a status update and they said they finally got the other machine on and was on their way to my house which was only 25-30 minutes away. The truck did not arrive until 7:25PM which was a U-Haul Truck! The driver tried 4-5 times to backup the truck into my drive way, which he damaged the front neighbor's lawn by driving all over it. It was just poor driving as I live on a large street. Upon backing up, he had me to sign the pickup slip which was $40 more than what was quoted over the phone. I went ahead and signed it since I just wanted the items offloaded. The driver then came back a few minutes later with another form which had Roovet International Van Line on top of the slip with an additional charge of $365.65 because they spent more than the quoted 3 hours. The driver then pressured me to sign the waiver of full replacement. When I read over the agreement, I would only get $0.60 per pound if my product is completely damaged. That means my $5000 machine would be worth $600 a piece. I refused to sign until I saw the condition of my items but they refused saying that they will not take it off the truck until I sign the contract with the additional fees and waiver or I can pay for the insurance. I asked what would be the price for the insurance, but he could not give me an answer. He said $250 one minute or $500. This is for insurance to cover my items that they moved! I refused to sign either and after a while, they finally just offloaded my items. Upon inspection, my items were dented, had broken parts and missing screws. They had used a regular hand dolly and a U-Haul truck to move equipment that weighted 1000lbs each. I've called twice trying to get a rep on the line to file a claim but no one answers the phone. I have even left a voice mail on their message system and have yet to receive a return call. This is a very unprofessional company and I will not be using them again.

  3. Horrible experience!

Absolutely the WORST company I have ever used.  It started out that I was quoted a price by the corporate office in Jax, then when I talked to their local office in Pompano, they say the quote is incorrect and charged me for an extra man for 4 hours.  Fine.  So they draw up my final quote and I agreed to it and had to prepay the total amount with my credit card.  In summary, my quote was as follows: The movers would arrive between 8-9 am to start the wrapping of furniture, then start utilizing the reserved elevators at 9 ( high rise building elevators need to be reserved which they were also aware of).  We booked 3 men for 4 hours in a 26 foot truck.  Come moving day..8, 9, 10 o'clock come and go.  We had called them at 9 and was told they had to "gps" the guys.  They finally arrive after 10;30, and bringing the first load down the elevators at 11 am.  MIND YOU, YOU CAN ONLY RESERVE THE ELEVATORS FROM 9-12.  Not only did they show up late, there were only 2 men and the truck they came in was only 17 feet!!  (Oh, not only did we move FROM a high rise, we were moving TO another high rise about 15 mins away, so we had also reserved those elevators from 9-12!!)  Since we were way behind schedule, my boyfriend automatically became the THIRD MOVER.  So, to sum up our fabulous experience highlighting the incompetency of this company, I talked to the corporate office in Jax regarding the lack of manpower, the extreme delay in time, the 17' truck instead of the 26' truck (which by the way, barely even fit a one bedroom apt) and their solution?!  THEY WANT TO CHARGE US FOR THE EXTRA TIME IT WILL TAKE TO FINISH MOVING!!.  HELLOOOO??  First off, we should have been credited for the one man that we had booked and paid for but never showed up, and if anyone had any common sense, 2 hours LATE, plus 1 man MISSING equals extra time over!!  Since they had the credit card on file, they automatically charged it by the time the movers drove off at the end of the day.  They also claim that it was a long walk from the elevators to the moving truck to load and that is why they charged us extra.  Any person with common sense would say,,,hmmmm..wait a minute.., if THEY would have arrived on time with the 3 men as promised, (my bf would have been the 4th guy)  and we had all worked together, I would have had no problem paying that overage.  BUT they were already talking about charging the overage only 3 hours into the move!!   The icing on the cake??  I have chips and mars on my wood furniture, bed dresser etc.  from them not using a cloth as a buffer when loading/unloading it onto the dolly.  They broke things in boxes that were clearly marked "FRAGILE".  Totally, totally, uncaring and incompetent..from the corporate office to the local office and to the movers.  People ask me if I know any good movers.  My response?  "No, but I definitely know who NOT to ever use!!"  Do not use Florida State Moving and Storage people!  Save yourself the MONEY, headache, stress, and frustration!!  -a million thumbs down, and yes, that is my final answer.
