  1. Fly Movers damage to belongings and missing items

I wrote a review about a week ago. My experience up to that point was such that I gave Fly Movers a rating of 1 only because 0 was not option. Workers damaged much of my furniture and most of my jewelry is missing.

As if deceptive business practices/strong arm tactics and arriving to pack and load a day and a half late, holding my furniture hostage until I paid them twice what they quoted, arriving to unload 4 hours later than originally promised (after 6 pm instead of 2pm), unloading in the dark until 11:00 pm, asking to come back early next morning to finish and not showing up then till almost 10:00am, dragging my furniture across an asphalt driveway, gouging the walls of my new home, scratching the new floors, breaking tables, lamps, collectables are all not enough - I now discover (after finally being able to unpack everything (boxes were mislabeled so it took twice as long) that most of my jewelry is missing and so are my most prized family photos and wedding photo album along with assorted other household items.

Ivan Page the owner offerred me $500.00 credit and refuses to provide me with weight ticket (which was supposedly basis for double charging me and I have requested 3 times. Twice has refused to answer my question as to whether his workers undergo a background and credit check before he hires them and is threatening to " do everything to protect the company" when I told him that I was going to go to the media and the police. Make sure to check out lowest rating from other customers on Google reviews before you are tempted to sign with this company because you are given a low moving estimate up front (which they will increase when they actually have your furniture captive on their trucks). You will see that there are numerous reviews that all show a pattern of blatant disregard for the customer. They say that they only use "experienced" movers who do this every day. One of my movers did not even know what a leaf for a dining room table was. I have already contacted the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration to complain. I would suggest that anyone who has had a similar experience with this company to do the same. Also read the Better Business Bureau reviews for Fly Movers. Even though they say on their truck (I have photos) that they are members, they are not. I wish that I had checked there, too. I might have saved myself from a week(and counting)of major stress, frustration and aggravation. BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE!

  2. Don't trust them!

TLDR: Bad experience; do not use them.

My family had a bad experience with Fly Movers, and we do not recommend anyone use them for moving or storage needs.

We moved from NC to NY in the summer of 2021. We needed our things stored for a month while we waited to close on our new home. I also have triplet toddlers (they were 18 months old at the time), and I knew I needed a full service move. I provided a full inventory list and got the quote, and I compared it with 2 other companies. Fly Movers was the most affordable for the services that were included, so we signed the contract and put $1500 down on the move.

On moving day, the movers did not bring any tools to disassemble the furniture, and they had to use my husband’s drill. They showed up in a Penske moving truck - not the trailer I was expecting. They were unable to fit all of our stuff in the truck, even though we did not have the 3 cribs, a dresser or a couch as initially stated in my inventory.

Our earliest delivery date was 6/30, and I knew that our stuff would likely not make it to NY by then. I got a call on 6/28 that our things were being loaded up on 6/30, and Molly would call me back when they were done loading. I called her back on 7/1 to find out an update, and she told me that she didn’t have any updates from dispatch and she’d call back. When she did respond, it was that they could not fit our stuff into the load they had and it wasn’t packed up. She told me she would call back with an update. I didn’t hear back from her. I called twice on 7/2 and left messages both times with no response. My husband’s aunt called on Monday (7/5) and spoke with Molly, who told her that there were no updates and she’d let us know. She kept saying that they guarantee it will be delivered within 14 business days from the date of delivery, but contractually they had 21 business days. Who deals in 14 and 21 business days unless you are trying to deceive your customers? She called back the same day and said that they were going to pack up our stuff that week. We didn’t hear back from them the rest of that week.

In that time frame, my husband had to go back to NC and I was alone in NY with 3 toddlers and none of our things. The folks at Fly Movers knew this, and had complete disregard for it.

My husband went to their office on Monday 7/12, and spoke to Molly in person. On Wednesday, 7/14, I finally got a call back from Molly - our stuff was being loaded that day, and delivery would be Friday or Saturday.

The movers showed up Friday morning (7/16) in a U-Haul. They complained about having to bring heavy items into the basement (they refused to move several filing cabinets down as well as boxes of office equipment), and asked for help from my brothers with unloading a lot of the heavier items. As broken items appeared, the movers blamed the folks who packed it up for not wrapping it right, and told me to file a claim. I have a broken lamp, a shattered large mirror, a large broken picture, tears in my couch cushions and seatbacks, holes punched in cabinets, etc.

At that point we found out that the packers stripped most of the screws to three of our tables rendering them useless, so the movers could not reassemble the tables. The packers lost the screws to my daughters bed, the feet and power cord to the base of my bed, and the feet to 2 of my chairs, so the movers could not reassemble the beds or chairs. This was SPECIFICALLY what we hired their company for! It’s been a week and I still have no idea where the screws for my daughter’s bed would be - I found the feet to the base of my bed in a box that was in my daughter’s room, and had to get more help putting all of these things together.

We paid almost $8,000 to Fly Movers, and they couldn’t do half of the work we paid them for. We reached out to Molly, who said she would file the claim for the damages for us. She came back with an offer of $250 and we had to take down any negative reviews. I responded that it was inadequate and hoped we could reach an agreement, but I have not heard back.

If you really look at the “reviews” for Fly-Movers, most of the reviews are either 1 or 5 stars. Most if not all of the “five star” reviews are less than four sentences and generic. The only detailed reviews are the one star reviews. I believe that the five star reviews are fake and made up by the people that work at Fly Movers to bury the true one star reviews. I wish I would have noticed this before we chose them but hindsight is 20/20.

  3. NEVER USE FLY MOVERS!

Fly Movers has dramatically overcharged me for services that were not rendered. Here are several of my issues with the company.

I was almost exact on my inventory list, as you'll see on my estimate and final inventory. Although the pick up mover assured me that I was very thoughtful and exact with my inventory, once they took my stuff they told me my initial estimate of $3,217 would no longer be honored and instead I would be required to pay $5,108.

When I asked about the price difference, fly movers sent me the weight tickets and the tractor number is different, so I believe that they are doing a bait and switch to get me to pay more. They told me they would reweigh the tractor prior to delivery and failed to do so.

My initial contract stated pick up would be the 28th or 29th of June. Fly movers instead told me they would come on the 30th and I spent hours on the phone to get it moved to the 29th, so I could be out of my building on time as planned.

Fly movers sent 1 mover to pick up and he was scheduled to arrive between 10-12. Instead he arrived at 3pm, resulting in the need to change travel plans at the last minute, as the pick up process took over 4 hours.

Although it was a full service move and I should not have had to help at all, my mother and I carried 90% of the items from my apartment to the van to help out as they only sent 1 mover.

At drop off, again fly movers were late. I took a vacation day off work to be there when they arrived, however, they did not show up until 6:30pm.

The pick up movers tried to drop off a considerable amount of items that were not mine (couch, 2 dressers, several boxes, dog food dish, cleaning supplies, an umbrella, etc.)

The pick up movers got into a verbal altercation with my neighbors and condo staff which is incredibly unprofessional and has resulted in repercussions for me in the building since.

I selected fly movers as they promised they were not a broker and it is clear they lied about it - I was asked to venmo a different moving company at drop off (Confidant Movers LLC).

Upon delivery, there were also several damaged items (I am filing in the form), many of which were custom made and priceless in nature.

As I brought up these concerns with fly movers, they offered me $500 to be silent and not post negative reviews and/ or file for damage claims which is wildly unethical for a company to ask of their clients (I obviously didn't sign).

Overall Fly Movers has been unresponsive, unprofessional, and has lied about their services. Please save yourself the hassle and avoid using them at all costs!

  4. Good Job!!

Amazing movers. They were frighteningly fast and efficient in getting all our furniture and boxes padded, wrapped and out the door, and happy to move anything we asked them to with no complaints whatsoever. Book these guys for your next move, it's worth it!

  5. Impressed!

We had an awesome experience with Best Movers! They showed up on time and worked so hard! They definitely had a task before them but they managed to pack us up and unpack everything just as it was before. All in all the process was smooth and I'd use again in a heartbeat. We highly recommend them!

  6. Worse moving experience EVER!

If I can give ZERO stars, I would. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE..PLEASE! spend a little extra money to go with a company who is honest. I was moving across country due to my spouse new job. I was quoted a little more than $6400 for my move. This isn’t our first time working with movers so I thought that was reasonable. I gave them 3 preferred days I would like my packing/move to happen. About a week prior to my move, Molly contacted me and advised me that my move would happen on 9/30 & they will arrive between 11-1. On that day, I received a text from the driver of the truck that they will arrive at 3 pm. Later on, I received another call from Molly stating that the movers got stopped at DOT on their way to my home and they can’t come until the following day! I was supposed to be out of my home by the 30!! I had family who flew into town to help my spouse drive our cars across country, this delay delayed our entire move! And cost me extra $$! Molly directed me to Oscar, a supervisor who wasn’t any more helpful. He did however advise me his company will reimburse me for the extra expenses I would have due to their delay and lack of planning on their part. “Great” I thought.. some form of accountability. Nope, I WAS WRONG. Once I sent him that cost amount, he back paddled and said he could not refund that full amount because that’s too big of a discount and they would not make a profit and he would just much rather cancel the move altogether. He said he could refund partially as if it was partially my fault. Once the movers arrived at my home, I gave them a tour and at that time, I was never inform of a additional cost. They loaded the truck and all of my things could not fit on the 26 foot truck they brought which I found to be impossible since multiple rooms were practically empty because I donated or sold a lot of furniture prior to their arrival. The drive advised me I would need to rent a U-Haul. I have NEVER experienced anything like this before but because I was already too deep in the move at that point to back out, I rented the U-Haul and then I contacted Oscar the supervisor. I have text message proving that Oscar states they will transfer that U-Haul to the companies name, they will drive the U-Haul, & they will provide payment for the u-Haul. In addition, there was an entire bathroom that was left unpacked. We were forced to throw away everything in that bathroom plus decorative photos and a brand new $100 fan. In addition, they were getting ready to drive off with out loading a tv, my brother in law had to carry the tv out to them so it could get put on the truck. We received a email from u-haul several days ago that the truck has not been returned followed by an invoice of over $800. As if today, 13 days after my move, the U-Haul still has not be returned and I have been forced to report the vehicle stolen with U-Haul and the sheriff department. I have not received ANY Accountability from the company or any reimbursements. They stained my carpet, scratched my walls and hard wood, and broke a dish. Infact I was told I have to pay OVER $12000 for my move which is double what I was quoted. I have email proof that Molly stated if I paid half of what was owed $5800, she will work on getting me a discount on the remaining balance owed due to our troubles, that never happened and now she is not returning my calls. I was told the new amount after they already had possession of my items and they will hold your items hostage until they receive payment. I was finally notified that my items will arrive tomorrow but was told at about 4pm the day before, I need to have cash in the amount of $5500 & with need to pay that cash prior to them unloading the truck, that to me was the final straw. I have since reported this company to BBB, FTC, Attorney general, Rip off report, and more. Please save yourself the headache and use another company. I believe all of their positive reviews are made up by staff that work there. My experience is way more inline with all of the other customers that had a poor experience with the company.

  7. Look Elsewhere!

I’ve moved many times domestically and abroad and although I eventually received my shipment and a small discount, this experience was an unmitigated disaster. If you value your personal belongings and your sanity, you will take my advice.

Where to start? For one, look at the reviews on Google. The majority of them are fake or paid for. If you click on the name and then review history you will see that many of them review the same obscure businesses in Washington, California and Arizona. I’ve flagged them for Google. Also, the website is misleading. The truck is photoshopped as the company does not actually have any trucks. As far as I can tell, they don’t own anything. They contract out drivers and trucks and they rent storage space. The owner, Andrii, is clearly the root of all this questionable activity (more on that later).

The company took possession of my shipment two weeks in advance of my delivery date. During that time, I assumed that they would be making plans to deliver my things on time as it was only a few hundred miles away (they give a 1-7 day delivery window). While I won’t get into all the absurd back and forth I had with them about inaccurate paperwork, disputed dates and multiple promises of delivery only to find out that my stuff hadn’t even been loaded onto a truck, I will say that if you do decide to work with them, prepare for defensiveness, inaccuracies and total gaslighting. I’m sure you’ll see this in their response to my review as you can see in their response to other negative reviews. The customer service was absolutely atrocious. In fact, in the month that they had my stuff, I was contacted by them once - a day or two before my stuff was finally delivered. Prior to that I contacted them numerous times and they were always shocked that I would be reaching out to them, telling me that they have 21 business days to deliver my stuff. At one point after lying about one of the delivery dates, they went silent for three or four days and wouldn’t answer my calls. My experience was similar to the review from Benjamin Quarles on mymovingreviews.com

But the worst part is Andrii. I managed to track down his name and number and tried calling. He wouldn’t answer. He did eventually respond to my texts denying who he was and that he was the owner of the company. He eventually did a 180 and admitted who he was after I found out more information about him online. Eventually he said he’d look into it and in order to get me to stop bothering him, he told me my stuff would be delivered on X day (third time it was promised), which was a complete lie as I was later told that it was never going to be delivered on that day. After later confronting him about this, he pretended he had no idea who I was or what I was asking.

Believe me, trying to save a bit of coin is not the way to go here. Do yourself a favor and find a company that respects you and your belongings.

  8. Beware.

Beware.. great customer service up front. Super nice sales guy until the actual movers show up and there are issues. Then he disappears. Quoted one price, even sent competitors quote to help ensure accuracy.. upon pick up. Movers were rude and argued about amount quoted. Unpacked items to create additional space requirements and force the need for a second truck. Price increased by more than 50%. When called to try and obtain explanation was told “I don’t care” by the office manager Oscar and that they of course are not at fault. I fully expected a reasonable margin of error, but 50%+ is not reasonable in my opinion. Now my items are being held hostage and threatened with storage fees unless I agree to pay the inflated charges.

  9. The WORST Communication.

    The GOOD:

In the end, I recieved all of my belonging, there was very little damage and nothing missing. On both ends of the trip the drivers/delivery men were very nice and seemed to handle my boxes/furniture with care.

    The BAD:

The communication was AWFUL. I booked my move with someone named Sean. I WAS NEVER ABLE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH ONE OTHER PERSON IN THE COMPANY.. AT ANY POINT. My belongings arrived the final day of the window in my contract and at no point through my three week wait was I ever able to reach a single person on the phone. Not one return phone call after numerous messages left. On top of that, after all of the fees etc., my cost was 50% more than I was quoted.

When I booked FLY, I was told that they were almost always able to deliver within 4-7 days of the once they had a date. My delivery arrived 14 days after I moved into my apartment, 21 days after I gave notification of my desired delivery date. Those numbers don't tell the full story, however.

After I gave my move-in date, which was a Saturday, I was told that my movers would arrive the following Thursday night or Friday. Thursday came, no movers. Friday came, no movers, no communication. I left messages at the main office. No return call. I left a message for Sean, my salesman, and I finally receive a phone call from him but he doesn't know what's going on. It takes me a few days to get from him that he had assumed my belongings were on one truck but that they had in fact not yet picked up. Sean seemed like a very genuine guy but I couldn't figure out what was going on. My things were supposed to be on the next truck, I was told it would be another 5 days.

I won't detail every interaction of the next ten days but the bottom line was that I was told that my movers were set to arrive within a specific window no less than 3 times only to find out that the person giving me this information actually had no idea where my things were. It was unsettling to say the least and by the time my movers finally arrived I had actually gone through the process of accepting that I may never see any of my things again. I had gotten to the point of thinking that FLY movers might not be a real company. Most things can be replaced but I would have been very sad to lose the headboard from the bed my grandmother was born in.

When my movers finally arrived, I was given 10 minutes notice. After 10 days of expecting my delivery at any time I finally received a phone call from someone who spoke just enough english to convey that, "Movers.. here". (No judgement, they were really nice guys and taught me a couple words in Russian but a stressful day was made more stressful by the fact my two movers spoke about 5 words of english between them. I had one box that was not delivered in my original shipment. Fortunately, I had made detailed lists of what I was having moved and was even able to show them a picture of exactly what the box that was missing looked like. They found my box and delivered it in person, with a smile, a few days later.)

My salesperson Sean was very likable and seemed to be my advocate throughout the process but midway through the deal I could tell that he just had zero knowledge what was happening in his company. He overpromised on what the company could deliver. Early on in the process he said that, if things went well, he might be able to get me a couple hundred dollars off my price to do a review or testimonial. When things were going very poorly he said he thought he might be able to get me a small discount because of the wait. I don't think there was every the slightest chance of this happening.

This move was VERY stressful. In the end it all worked out for me but I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

  10. Will NEVER recommend them to anyone ever!!

If I could give zero stars, I would.

Tried to shop local and give business to this company to move a simple 1 bedroom apartment less than 10minutes between locations. Quoted appropriately and excited for the move.

Day of, 2 guys show up as expected and instead of getting to work, fought with us for 45 minutes that instead of the 3 hours we were quotes based on the list of belongings it would actually take 6 hours.

Not even 1/2 our belongings made it onto the truck for the first trip and the team refuses to complete the job.

Now, not only is my move not complete but the office and representative handling the move aren't answering the phone and have reported they will be charging us for the extra time and resources any way.

Absolutely a disgrace of a company.

  11. Good Moving Service !

These guys are professional and very quick! They arrived on time and served until all was finished, not wasting time paying for more hours. They put all the furniture down and wrapped it to prevent it from getting damaged. They set up everything at the new house exactly how I asked them! Recommend them highly again!

  12. Great Work !

We used Fly Movers for a same-day interstate move from SA to PA. On the day of the move Mark and his team were on time and very professional and communicative throughout. They gave extra help to us. It was a very professional move.

  13. Great Movers !

Working with their team was good. Representatives responded to all my questions on the phone and kept in touch with me throughout the process. They came to me early in the morning to pack all the things. The dishes and furniture were carefully packed and shipped to the place. They quickly emptied everything and no damage occurred.

  14. Everything I could ask for. Well done.

Moving across state lines is absolutely torturous at times to go through, but not with Fly Movers. They saved me a heck of a lot of trouble with essentially all of the things that I just don't have time to handle. I own a business and have a family to take care of. Between great communication, no damaging of any of my goods (TV, Couch, Mattress frame, etc) and affordability, I'm confident that I'll never use any moving service aside from Fly Movers.

  15. Fantastic moving experience.

Out-of-state moves are usually a nightmare. You're adding long-distance travel to an already complicated process. Fly Movers made it as painless as possible. My belongings ranged from the huge to the delicate, and everything was handled appropriately. Our quote was absolutely accurate, all service was delivered on time, and they were pleasant and easy to work with. In short, I was dreading my moving experience, but, in the end, I had nothing to worry about. Look no further for a great out-of-state moving service.
