  1. Scammers! Revoked license twice. Operate under different names.

BE AWARE OF THESE THIEVES!! Gave me a “binding estimate” of $4520, charged me a deposit, then date of pick up (knowing I’d be out of the country), then raised the “binding estimate” to almost $11,000!! Note that I packed less than what I told them I’d be Packing, gave them measurements of boxes and furniture, but somehow their estimate went from 1340 cf to 2200!!
They forced the person I left in the apartment when they picked up furniture to sign papers..I say forced bc he couldn’t get in touch with me (I was out of the country) and the apartment was due to be returned to owner. They had him sign a waiver of liability because they “ didn't pack the house goods” and the other charging over $1000 for packing the same house goods they said they claim to not have packed on waiver!! What’s worse they are now holding my belongings hostage. The “quality control manager” Thomas is a real jerk, clearly uneducated, rude, unprofessional and thief.
This company’s license has been revoked twice, they operate under different names and locations..the company is registered to a personal residence in NJ in which two 60+ people live..,most likely not their address either. The phone numbers they use are registered in Vegas.
    SCAMMERS! THIEVES!!

  2. My moving experience.

I hired gentle movers for my boyfriend & what a nightmare, they were very unprofessional, unfriendly & anything but gentle.they broke the side rail of his bed, they dragged the mattress on the wet ground & ruined his couch as well.they also ripped the screen on his front door!! When we contacted the company to let them know what happened they didn't seem to care & didn't call us back like they said they would! I will.never use them again ever!!

  3. Gentle Movers/Furniture Wreckers.

FURNITURE WRECKERS more like it. After a simple internal move, this company wrecked a showpiece piece of furniture and made another one unusable.  We did not notice till shortly after they left, as we foolishly trusted the movers. When we rang, ahem, Gentle Movers to report the damage the response we got was “legally, there is nothing you can do about it”. After over a dozen calls and emails over nine weeks and no resolution we feel compelled to warn others about using extreme caution in contemplating using this company. Please warm all your colleagues, friends and family also, the treatment from this company is by far the WORST I have ever encountered.

  4. Criminals.

DO NOT USE. DO NOT USE. DO NOT USE. DO NOT USE.Criminals.. Driver told me the bill was $595 on top of $165 we had already paid. This involved driving time of 1.5 hour. 1) The came to our house for a pick up of a piano in another town.2) Called to argue the bill to which Avi told me to "Shut the f** up" and then warned me about foul language for saying that "you're trying to screw me on the bill".3) Had to ask the driver to leave the house because he knew he had tried to screw me on the bill and then started to get aggressive when I told him I was calling the office.4) They still ran my credit card without delivery signatures. We're disputing the charge and will push to small claims for sure. These guys are criminals end of story.DO NOT USE under any circumstances.

  5. Gentle Movers.

My daughter goes to Boston University. I live in California and I needed to find a company in Boston to get her apartment packed, moved and stored for the summer. It was a difficult decision to choose the right mover, a moving company that you can trust. According to my daughter I was on the ball with Gentle Movers. They were on time, they wrapped and prepared the furniture for storage, they inventoried everything, gave her a receipt. It seems everything was taken care of very well.

  6. Disaterous Move.

On February 22, 2015, we had three men from Gentle Movers arrive at approximately 3:00 pm to begin our move at  Woburn, MA.  They had me sign a slip for insurance and he verbally told me (my friend Jackie was there and heard him say it) “if you initial here this will insure that your property will be insured by us.”  It basically stated that everything would be insured for $0.60/pound.  They began by taking apart my daughters beds which took approximately one hour.  One man worked on this while one man manually (without a 2-wheeler) took down boxes from the third floor in the elevator and one man stood outside.  They would then disappear for 15-20 minutes at a time.  Once they found out about the free TV next door they disappeared for about a half hour which I was being billed for.  I finally heard them come out of the apartment and they thought it was funny and was trying to figure out how they would fit the TV in the truck with all of my stuff.  They had no concern for working for me whatsoever.  At about 5:00 after slowly taking only the girls beds and part of the living room and a few things from the loft down to the truck they decided to order pizza.  They said to me that they would definitely be out by 7:00 which after the pizza arrived turned into 8:00.  In the meantime, my parents kept calling the owner to complain about them going next door to watch the free TV and their disappearing.  They were told that the foreman, Chris, would call them and explain why they were next door.  When the foreman called my mother he said they were looking at a TV not watching it and that he had to go get the other two men out of their but the truth is I saw HIM (the foreman, “Chris”) in their looking at the TV.  So he lied to my mother.  He kept telling my mother on the phone that they were leaving in 15 minutes which turned into 3 hours.  He also told her that they “just hired the two men on Saturday and they had never moved a day in their lives and he had to take on the load.”   Which to me means only one person was working as he had to “fix all of their mistakes.” Finally, at 8:00 p.m. they left Woburn after me.  It took me 15 minutes to arrive at, North Billerica, MA 01862.  They finally arrived at 9:00 p.m.  They could not back the truck down the driveway because they did not know how to drive it, so the truck had to stop in the middle and was at an incline.  They opened the truck and stuff started falling out.  A box fell out and they said “don’t worry it’s just the pots and pans.”  My dad was furious.  He actually had to help them unload because they were so slow and it was getting so late.  My two daughters, 7 and 5 were still up and waiting for their toys to arrive and couldn’t sleep till they knew they were here.  Once the furniture started coming out we started seeing the TV stand was separated at the joints and dented.  The coffee table looked like a dog chewed the corners off.  My daughter’s makeup table which Santa brought her was completely broken in four pieces (which they tried to say they took apart and was going to put back together and covered up with a blanket as they brought it in the house).  Their life size dollhouse was scratched up really good and the roof was coming off.  One of my kitchen chairs was scratched completely across the back.  And when the guys were moving a dresser upstairs they put a dime size hole in my parent’s wall.  Also, if it wasn’t for my friend pulling her car in the driveway at midnight, we wouldn’t have known that they just left one of the end tables to the living room set outside in the snow.  At approximately 11:30 p.m. they finally finished only because my father was helping them and he was having them just leave everything in the front hall because he didn’t’ want any more damage to his house.  Chris handed my mother a document to sign saying they worked eight hours and it would cost $1100.00 not including the deposit I put down for $134.00.  She refused to sign the paper and they called the owner to discuss the price.  He said he’d drop two hours and she still refused knowing how much they played around and ruined my furniture.  He finally left and went to his truck and sat outside until about 11:45.  He called my mother on the phone and said he would drop it to four hours with two men.  So they changed the slip to say four hours and two men and my mom signed it.  The next day she saw on her Discover Card she was charged for the eight hours and three men ($1100.00).  Also, they told her that they have to determine whether or not the damage will be insured even though they told me beforehand anything that is damaged will be insured.  In total we estimate the damages to be approximately $1369.00.                .

  7. Dishonest.

We used them 3 months ago to move stuff from the top floor to the basement for a renovation.  The guys moving our stuff were great hard working guys.  At the conclusion the office tried to charge us $100 more than our email quote.  It took 20 min on the phone and emails the next day to fix the situation.  This time to move the stuff back we called again and were quoted the same price for an hour of work and have it in writing.  When we called to confirm the date the next day the women on the phone said their policy changed and they now must charge us for travel time to and from the office which will be an additional $50.  We live a half mile from the office.  They said but it takes time at the light and we have to warm up our trucks.  It takes 3 minutes to get to our house.  When we asked to speak to a supervisor we were told no.  The movers were good the office is dishonest and tries to cheat you out of money.

  8. Unethical - they will take you all the way to the bank!

We were quoted $174 for 3 movers, one hour of unloading help. They showed up 4 hours late (at 7 pm), and while one out of the two (yes only two came) did do some work - the other older, fatter one mostly sat around. We had done most of the heavy stuff ourselves before they got there because we were never sure if they would ever show up. Then, after an hour, they doubled the price because they claimed it was 2.5 hours of service - that the time started from the time they left their facility (so they were charging 1.5 hours of travel time, which is ridiculous - they are located in Hyde Park, this was a Chelsea unload, it takes like 15 minutes). When we argued, the older man started SHOUTING at us. Then the younger one said call their supervisor, and apparently he told them to have me sign the slip, mark "disputing," and we would work out the charges on Monday, but again, this guy was mad because he says he won't get paid. The person on the phone who quoted the price NEVER SAID the clock started from the time they left. Very shady company..

  9. Looking for reimbursement.

Called asking for the name of the Manager regarding a refund on deposit dispute and the receptionist would not give me that info put me on hold three times and then hung up on me. Her name was Marion and was very rude. The locaiton is Business Street, Hyde Park.

  10. Gentle Heroes.

I missed the whole show as I had to catch a plane to London. My sister phoned to tell me in every little detail of her move. According to her the movers were not only gentle they “were literally heroes”. I am sure she is exaggerating but the way they, she says, got the $10,000 gothic armoire out the window as if they were pulling the bow across the strings of a violin.  Just this act alone surely deserves a good review. She was worried about that one piece of furniture more than anything. I must say if anyone can make my sister happy, they can make any one happy - that I know very well. Three cheers to “gentle heroes” who saved my sister (and me as I was the one who recommended them to her at the first place).

  11. Nightmare.

My move with Gentle Movers was a NIGHTMARE! They were continuously late, destroyed items, held my items for ransom, and did not deliver on time. I strongly recommend NOT using them for your move!
