  1. This company doesn't care about you once they have your money.

    I honestly think most of these positive reviews are fake. We had an absolutely miserable experience with Grace Van Lines. Let's start at the beginning.
    1. Pre-moving day. Everything was fine. Our salesmen, Ivan, was helpful and responded to our questions. We got a very reasonable estimate and all the good reviews on this site gave us confidence.
    2. Pickup day. Here is where things start to give us a bad feeling. The moving team was very thorough in their loading/packing, however the price ended up being nearly double the estimate. At this point, what do we know, maybe the information we gave for their estimate was wildly inaccurate. However, we have a very small (1000 sq ft) home and were taken aback when the price went from $3400 to $5600. But at this point what choice do we have, and we give them the required 50%.
    3. The first available day for delivery was July 1st. Ivan told us it can sometimes take up to 7 days after that, but usually is within 4. We were assured the holiday/weekend would not have an effect.
    4. Fast forward to July 6th. We've now been in an empty house for 5 days with no word from the company. Half a dozen voicemails to the moving team, the sales team, et al go completely unanswered.
    5. Finally get through to a salesperson on Tuesday, July 7th. Our stuff hasn't even been loaded in NY yet, and "should" be here by the weekend.
    6. Movers call Thursday evening to say they will be there either Friday evening or Saturday morning. We have now been in an empty house with a 10 month old baby for 10 days. But, we are just relieved to have them call us.
    7. No one comes or calls Friday evening OR Saturday morning. They call Saturday afternoon to say they'll be there by 5pm (24 hours past when they said it would be). 6pm rolls around, we have to call them and they say 7pm, then get there after 8pm. Very annoying but again, just relieved to have it over with.
    8. The worst part was yet to come. Literally 50% of our stuff is missing from the truck. We got our dryer but no washer; pieces of the bed missing, pieces of our desk missing, toolboxes, lamps, couch cushions, all just not there. To add insult, the couch and recliner are both damaged.
    9. We now have to spend the rest of eternity trying to get in touch with their customer "service" and have to file claims for all 20 missing pieces, and the damaged pieces.
      If you want a trouble free move, PLEASE GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE. I understand that moving long distances is difficult. But it's your job as a moving company to actually check the inventory when you're loading the truck and make sure half the stuff isn't sitting around somewhere in a warehouse. $6k well spent. I will be sending a letter to the BBB and posting 1 star reviews all over the place. Have a terrific day.    .

  2. Miracle made possible.

    This was my move from one shoe box to another, meaning one tiny apartment from Queens, NY to another tiny apartment in Chicago, IL. But I wasn't going to give up on my favorite pieces of furniture. So I hired Grace van lines. They promised to get my huge couch in one piece out my 6th floor apartment. And they did, I can never figure out how they managed to do it though. They are nothing short of magicians. They deserve all the moving company awards, if there is any!

  3. Nightmare Pricing.

    I had my representative give me a quote along with other moving companies and I chose Grace because of quick response and pricing.  Well did I make a HUGE mistake.  I communicated with my rep multiple times on my inventory items and what they were.  Now I know there may be some adjustments needed but not more than 10% of the  quote.  Where I saw issues I addressed such as he had the wrong number of night stands and even dressers.  I also pointed out via email that there were mirrors with the dressers and they needed to be wrapped.  His response was they would do that with no mention that I would have to pay a lot more for that.  We also found out that all the mattresses needed to be covered and an expense of $30 each which we were not told about.  I told him we had a kitchen table with 6 chairs, he put that as a small table which any table with 6 chairs is not small.  Then he told me my packed boxes where medium size boxes when it fact they were large boxes which added a lot more of the cost. When all is done, my bill went from $3200 to over $6,000.  There customer service team called me after 5 days of me leaving messages with anyone I could and  they gave me a $30.00 discount.  What a slap in the face.  Grace is the worst moving company and I would never recommend them to anyone.  I will continue to fight this but I know they will do nothing.  Time will see.  Job number is G7357585.

  4. Dont Trust - All is not green!! They are cheaters.

    Do NOT trust this company, they are whole bunch of CHEATERS.
    Gemma Thompson, the owners daughter is rude, unprofessional and has an attitude on the day of the move. She was nice intially to win your business. But on the day of the move she charged me 150% more than the agreed price. She was very rude and not professional at all.
    Grace Van lines, did not render any service for my move, I had to search for a different company to finally do the move for me. Now this company is giving me hard time to revert my deposit back.
     
    WHOLE BUNCH OF CHEATERS! Please don't choose this company at all.

  5. They quote low and then..watch out.

    I will start out by saying that I should have listened to the warning bells that went off in my head, when I got the call about the quote and we kept getting disconnected.
    I gave him everything in my list including the stairs etc. and I was quoted 2250.00 for my move. I will be honest in saying that they gave me a window of 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and they called and arrived at 11:00 a.m. which was wonderful. 
    But that's where it ended because then I was charged another 1300.00 dollars for blankets, TAPE, stairs, and bins. (Which I told him I was going to use) instead he quoted boxes.
    I was so angry at the absurd up-charge that I was willing to send them home and call another company but my husband insisted that we just finish with them. (another mistake) because while they did arrive before time with my items. they charged me another 100.00 dollars on arrival which they will collect mind you before they even open the truck to give you your furniture at which point it is too late to do anything about it.
    NEVER, EVER AGAIN WILL I USE THIS COMPANY!!
    I'm still wondering how they got on the BBB list, which will hopefully change after I give them a call.
    I could understand a maybe 100.00 dollars but another 1300.00 plus the extra 100.00 upon arrival was too much!!

  6. "Dis" Graceful Van Lines.

    Can there be negative stars?  If so, "dis"grace van lines would have a negative 5.  From start (vastly underestimated quote and didn't send enough movers to do the job, first agreed to accept credit card and 5 days later rejected it, even though credit was fine) to transit (never returned calls, failed to provide any information about the location of our furniture, delivery was 20 days overdue and ignored our designated dates and failed to give 24 hour notice as promised) to delivery (several pieces of broken furniture - "fully insured" is BS --, several expensive items never delivered and delivered someone else's belongings which they haven't even attempted to recover), our experience has been awful. This is a shortened version of all the things they did wrong -- we have more  -- DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

  7. Outstanding moving services.

    Last time we went with Grace van lines and fortunately it was the best move in my life. Their billing process was very transparent. The guys worked at prompt pace. Their workers were scheduled to arrive at 8.30 am and arrived five minutes prior to their time. The crews took apart our one large cabinet, a dressing and dining table, two large size beds. They were similarly expert on delivery. No complaint was raised from my side. I am honestly recommending them for a great move.

  8. Successful move.

    Sorry for the belated review! I forgot to thank for the extra ordinary efforts grace van lines gave for my move. They helped me a lot before the service, answered of all questions because it was my first moving experience. Unfortunately I was not able to help them owing to sickness. Each and every moving guys have been so great! My little brothers were enjoying very much to see their activities. Sometimes my bro was enjoying works with the crews. They took around three hours to pack. I was highly impressed with their wrapping and packing method. It was much better than I thought. They did a successful move. I hope that I will be with them again.

  9. Safe delivery.

    My father had some old furniture in our store, I wanted to sell them. We got the customer and decided to move it to them. I was very curious whether I would get any trusty mover. I searched a lot but most of them didn’t reply my answer. After few days, I got an address from my cousin. I went there and talked about my moving plan. I told them that some furniture had to drop without any damage. They assured me of a safe move. The full bill was paid after having a safe delivery. Did good job with best professionalism. Thank you Grace van lines.

    There is no doubt of the fact that Grace van lines is the most deserving company in the field of packing and moving. The move was excellent and the delivery reached our new address after 4 days and without any damage. I checked the inventory personally and was very happy to see the excellent work Grace van lines had done for us. For their sincere work and effort I give them double thumbs up and recommend them to all who are looking to move with ease and in fact enjoy and happily remember moving into their own house.

  11. Easy communication.

    I moved with my family from New Jersey to Delaware by the help of Grace van lines. They were incredibly patient with me. I changed my moving dates twice. At last we fixed the date on 16th January. I have never used any movers before so it was my first move! I thought it might be a very long process. Five movers were fixed up for my move. They arrived at 8 in the morning with a big truck and parked in the block near to my apartment. Loaded huge furniture and everything happened quickly. They hadn’t taken any break. Very easy to communicate with them. I have no complaint and will use them again.

  12. Safe move.

    Oh! It was a cloudy morning and was so scared for my move and newly purchased furniture. I was thinking all the time that “can I reach on my destination timely??” It was so tensed moment! But the trusted company, Grace van lines placed my stuffs with full protection and great safety. They packed all stuffs with wrapper and used some luggage to put some small items. Safely reached at my place despite being rough weather, No harassment. Thanks Grace for safe move.

    Grace van lines, you did an excellent job!! You are the world’s best mover as I found few days ago!! They moved my stuffs from New Jersey. Awesome packing skills and hard working individuals. Very cordial and polite. Very first responsive. They were on time and called me when they would reach at my place. Oh I forgot that there was totally zero extra charge. They always preferred credit card so I used it. Very satisfied to their service. I already send their profile’s link to one of my friends. Best company did best job!!

  14. Safe and fast move.

    Last night I have completed my third move with Grace van lines. They surly impressed me. Picked my stuffs from Trenton, NJ. They were true professionals from beginning to the end in every time they worked for us. Before I thought of all moving companies provide nothing but stress, they proved me wrong since their very first dealing with me. The first couple of move with this mover was for short distance relocation. This time I changed my location to Louisiana and again hired them. Their team leader was perfect. All of them followed him honestly and sincerely. That was the reason for quick, efficient, safe and fast move. So grateful to them!

  15. Charlatans.

    This company sold their lies quite well. I was given a qoute by a 'moving specialist' (Debra Casa)after listing my inventory, room by room, with her, the distance from the driveway to the apartment building, the involvement of stairs and an elevator. She sent me a quote of $2502. It was a bit higher than the other companies were asking, but the thing that sold me was the promise of no subcontracted driver would be involved. She also said the movers would wrap all large furniture items in blankets, and additional boxes would be available if I need them. Debra Casa assured me of that, she also promised that the quote she gave me was final. I gave her a deposit of $550. I should've ran for the hills then when she charged my credit card twice, in error. When the movers arrived I was told my move would cost $3444. Kevin (mover) said the increase was because the boxes were various sizes (I told Debra they were all large), the furniture was oversized (my quote was for smaller items), they'd have to charge me for the use of blankets and tape, the elevator, stairs, and parking situation were not included on Debra's quote so that's more as well. Had it not been the 12th hour of my relocation I would have gone with another company. Kevin told me my delivery would arrive on 1/7/15. My shipment did not arrive until 1/23/15. I called every day, several times a day for updates or any information. Debra would not take my calls, the owner (I was told ) does not get involved unless the shipment is past 21 days after initial pickup (they picked up on 1/2/15) so Andre, the dispatcher, said they're still within the delivery window.
    When the truck arrived the driver opened the door to boxes strewn everywhere. There was a huge box which had fallen on one of my television boxes and pierced completely through the inside. (I must point out, Grace Van Line insist you pack your own tv's, then the movers will come and tell you they're not responsible for damages to tv's they didn't pack), I unpacked the tv immediately to check for damages. Thankful it was the back and not the screen side that the box had fallen on. As the contractors unwrapped my furniture I noticed several items had been damaged. The back of my sofa was ripped off, the bottom has tears in the fabric, and the bar at the bottom of the sofa bed is bent. The put packing tape on my leather ottoman which caused damage when it was pulled off. My son's 7' trophies (which they packed) were destroyed! I called to speak to someone about it the loss and damages and was put on hold for 15 minutes and then disconnected.
    Warning : DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GRACE VAN LINES!!
