  1. Don’t Use This Company.

If I could give this company negative 5 stars, it would be too good for their horrific service when things don’t go right.

They moved me from northern CA to Southern CA about 5 months ago. I was very ill at the time, so I had them pack everything also. First, they more than doubled the quote they gave me over the phone on the day of the move.

The broke my couch/futon and had to throw it away as part of the unpacking. A few days after the move when I was well enough to look around, I noticed several damaged items. I sent the manager Juan Vargas pictures of all the damage and he stopped short of telling me I was lying and caused the damage either myself or it was pre-existing. He said he would go look at his paperwork because they indicate all damage to property before they pack it and sure enough he found nothing! It took dozens of calls, emails and texts to Juan and even to international Van Lines which was the company who referred me to Green Moving Systems to finally get a response out of him. Finally he agreed they would pay me for the damages to my furniture outside the insurance process because that would take too long. Juan agreed to send me a release to sign sign and send back at which time he would send me the check. That was over a month ago and now neither Juan or my contacts at international van lines will respond back.

Be careful if you use this company; if anything goes wrong, they WILL NOT take any responsibility.

  2. Shady business.

I hired a company called Capital Moving and Transport but all the contracts, inventory lists and payment invoices were labelled Green Moving so I think this is just a shady way of diffusing an already poor reputation by running a business under several names. Here is my experience with Capital Moving and Storage:
I hired Capital Moving & Transport to move my 88 year old mother from London, Ontario to Halifax, NS. BIG mistake. Worst decision ever. They were inconsiderate, unprofessional, extremely disorganized and dismissive.
I started out anxious because I did not get confirmation of pick-up until mere hours before we were due to be out of her apartment and on a flight to Halifax. Once the 2 workers arrived they worked very hard to get the move completed before we had to leave. Gohkan, the driver, was very considerate and a very hard worker but it was crazy to think they would send only 2 men for a long distance move such as this. As our time to leave had passed and we were 30 minutes late in leaving, we were forced to move the remaining items into the hallway so we could lock up the apartment, turn in the keys and get to the airport on time for our flight. The movers were left to finish up on their own without supervision and we had to hope that all items would make it on to the truck.
Their price was good and their weigh-in was pretty accurate. I have heard of many companies 'padding' the weight to earn more money so I was pleased to see the final invoice was even below the estimate given. But that's where my praise ends.
Dealing with dispatch to try to track my mother's shipment and get any sort of delivery date or time, was the absolute worst nightmare ever! Every single time I called dispatch, I received a different story as to when the truck was due to arrive. Every time I called, they said they would find out and call me back. I never once got a call back.
We were left guessing and waiting by the phone day after day after day. Finally, 12 days after pick-up, I called dispatch AGAIN and was told that her things were due to be delivered the next day and that dispatch would call me later in the day to let me know what time tomorrow. I emphasized that we would have to book the elevator at her new apartment building so I would need advance warning. I waited all day and night and never received a call. The next morning, the supposed day of delivery, I called yet again and spoke with a girl who said the dispatcher wasn't available and would call me back. No call. I called the booking agent next instead of trying to deal with dispatch. She checked my contract and claimed that yes, in fact delivery was booked for that day (despite never receiving a phone call from the company a day in advance to confirm delivery). She told me the truck would be at my mother's apartment at 7 pm. I told her that I was not fully confident that I should drive in to meet them since every time I called I received different information but she assured me that it was in the scheduler for 7 pm. When my husband got home from work, we packed up my Mom and her few things, grabbed a quick bite to eat and drove to Halifax. We sat in an empty apartment with my 88 year old mother sitting on the floor in the heat from 6:30 pm to 8:20 pm with no call and no truck. We left there feeling very frustrated and very angry.
The next morning I tried calling Capital Moving AGAIN. I was told my booking agent was not available so I spoke with the girl answering the phone. I told her that we had been sent into Halifax on the promise of delivery only to sit waiting with no call and no explanation. She promised to find out what was happening, why they didn't show up and when the delivery was going to arrive and call me back. Once again, NO CALL BACK.
I called dispatch and threatened legal action which got me to the supervisor "Matthew" (if that really was his name). He explained that there had been a hold-up last evening with another delivery and that the driver 'should have called'. Yes, right. I don't believe it because there had already been too many phone calls that had not been returned so I don't think this was just a one-time slip-up or mistake.
The supervisor said he would "box his ears" when he spoke to the driver but of course I don't believe that either. Matthew said he would contact the driver right away and call me back. I did receive a call-back telling us that the truck would be at my mother's apartment between 2 and 4 pm so off we went to Halifax again. We waited in the hot, empty apartment until 4:10 when the truck finally arrived. Once again there were only 2 men to unload and those two were the slowest movers I had ever seen. It took almost 4 1/2 hours to unload a one bedroom apartment. I have had our whole 4 bedroom house loaded and unloaded in a shorter time!
Many of the items were not put into the appropriate rooms unless we caught them and specifically asked them to put things somewhere in particular. Boxes, even though they were clearly marked which room they were to go in, were dumped anywhere and everywhere. Some items had been taken apart by the movers who loaded, such as the legs were removed off the tables etc, but these delivery guys did not reassemble anything so it was left to my 88 year old mother to sleep on her mattress on the floor for a couple of nights because they didn't put her bed together.
We paid $200 extra (besides the weight charges) to transport her small organ and it arrived in pieces..it had actually been pulled apart, the cabinet from the base, the back and front panels falling off and the sound cables were pulled apart from the sound board. The movers spent 20 minutes trying to fit it all back together again and they did a pretty good job of salvaging it but they weren't able to attach the organ cabinet body to the base so it had to be leaned against the wall until it could be repaired. What a nightmare. This had my mother in tears. Moving is difficult and especially for the elderly who haven't moved in over 22 years!
I am happy that this experience is behind us but I fear that someone else might make the same mistake that I did and hire these people to move them. This company has no regard or respect for the items they are moving..they don't seem to understand that these ‘things’ are the sum of most people's lives; there are memories here and attachments that this company fails to show any regard for.
The "Relocation Specialist" that booked the contract was switched out and could not be reached by phone after the pick-up and payment.
All the paperwork has the Green Moving company logos so I suspect that Capital is just a re-branding attempt to defer all the negative comments associated with the Green Moving and Storage Company.
I understand that this review is based on my own experience and perception and I generally give most people the benefit of the doubt but this company without a doubt is the worst mover I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. My husband and I moved across Canada twice as well as have just recently moved from Cape Breton Island to the South shore so I feel that I have at least some experience with movers and relocating. My advice for anyone considering Capital/Green Movers: DON'T DO IT! Stay clear and run for your lives!

  3. Amazing Moving Experience.

Green Moving is amazing! They moved me into my one bedroom apartment today. I prepared myself for a stressful, emotional day, but it was just the opposite: effortless and so easy. They showed up right on time, wrapped and packed all my furniture and moved it into my new place. They were both calm and methodical about how they did everything. I even have one piece of furniture, a large bed with a custom made heavy base, and I was very worried about how they would be able to move this. They did it with no problem at all. Then they set up my furniture in my new place. They gave me a great price and were so pleasant to work with. I highly recommend Green Moving to anyone..such a positive experience.

  4. Green Moving = worst customer service ever!

I filled out an on-line request for moving estimates at allcanadamovers.com and subsequently received telephone calls and e-mails from different moving companies with estimates. Green moving gave me the best price, so I booked with them and paid a $100 deposit. They never sent me an invoice or contract or anything saying we had an agreement. On the day the move was supposed to take place, no one ever showed up or called. I phoned Green the next day and they informed me that the movers had run late and would come later that day. I said this was poor business practice and cancelled the service asking for a refund of my deposit. They sent me a cancellation form, which I filled out and returned. They never refunded my deposit.I tried contacting the accounting department serveral times by phone and e-mail, but the calls always went to a voicemail bax that was full, and I never received any reply to my e-mails. After three weeks of this, I called my credit card company and disputed the cahrge for which I was given a refund by my credit card company.

  5. Professional Movers.

Incredible. Down three flights of stairs and into a brand new apartment with brand new hardwood floors -- done very very well. He was helpful and communicative the whole time (it took six hours and the three guys were working hard and fast). He explained the rate in person and waked through the apartment as we described which items were moving and which were staying etc. In the new apartment he knew to put down blankets to protect the floor. The disassembled a modern couch - and then put it back together again. They arrived within the window of arrival time. And they were very friendly through-out the move. The person we spoke to on the phone was equally diligent and efficient. Answering questions a few days prior to the move, explaining their services, etc. I would highly recommend them.

  6. Best Movers.

Great experience with Green Moving, they were professional, fast, and friendly. We needed help with our move , and so we reached out to Green Moving. I received a competitive quote not long after inquiring about their moving services. The 3-man crew showed up on time on our moving day, we went over some paperwork and they got right to work packing all our furniture and electronics. We had most of our small items in boxes already, but larger items (furniture, TV, electronics, pictures, kitchen appliances) had to be boxed up still. They had all the necessary supplies in their truck and efficiently packed all our remaining belongings. We then met them at our new apartment, and they unloaded everything perfectly. Nothing was damaged or missing. Thanks to Green Moving, our stressful move was made easier and pain-free! We definitely recommend this company and will be using their services for any of our future moving needs. Thanks Green Moving!

  7. Thumbs up!!

Green Moving arranged our move from California to Florida. They provided a good, solid quote with no surprises tacked on at the end---what was quoted, was what I paid. Five of the nicest, most polite guys showed up at my door on time and ready to work. He was a wonderful leader who seemed well-respected by the team, which made this move run smoothly. When we arrived at our new home, the team was having difficulty getting some of the larger furniture to fit into the doorway. With determination and much maneuvering, this amazing team made it work! An added bonus--a couple of supervisors came during the process, simply to make sure things were going as planned! We have previously moved across country and made several local moves. This move was the most pleasant of all because of this staff. I highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again!

  8. Great moving companie.

I am very pleased to add a review with regards to my moving experience with Green Moving & Storage Company. Excellent service all around. My first contact was with monica. He has the perfect customer service approach that gave me confidence that I was dealing with a trustworthy moving company. It worked according to plan. All the furniture and all the boxes arrived the same way it was picked up. I was contact to give me the expected time of arrival. The guys were personable and worked in a professional manner without waisting any time. I recommend Green Moving & Storage for your next move.

  9. Deceptive practices and disregard for all belongings.

On August 17th, 2016, goods were finally delivered. Upon delivery, however, there were some critical issues that will need to be resolved immediately. While it was described during the sales process that we would be dealing with bona fide employees of Green Moving, it is clear that we were dealing with contractors. The driver who delivered the items confirmed this fact. Both pickup and delivery drivers were also late with the stated times of delivery throughout the day, causing additional stress and delay.

Items such as the 42" flat screen were stolen/lost during shipment. The mattress was wet and dirty. Box springs were out of the packaging they were sent in and also were wet and dirty. All boxes were wet, with items damaged within them. My fiance had to actually help move on delivery because only one driver was sent. We have security footage proving this. Even the vacuum cleaner was filled with water and broken. Additionally, furniture pieces were either rusted, had missing parts, were broken, or a combination of the above such as a jewelry armoire and TV stand.

Our items at some point were also placed into a public storage location in an outdoor and non-climate controlled unit. We called the storage company to confirm this after the delivery driver showed us the pickup slip.

The water damage is especially concerning due to possible health issues that could arise from any mildew or mold growth (again storage was not authorized). This would be acceptable to me and I would consider the issue resolved and is more than reasonable given that Green Movers are fully insured, licensed, and bonded.

The company also gave us fraudulent claim information. When we tried to file a claim, the claim company stated they do not work with this company. Green Moving also stated before the move they would allow me to select the $6 per pound valuation option complimentary. I have emails proving this. However, on the day of the pickup, the drivers refused to let me sign for this option. Even after showing emails and calling the "dispatch" office.

On delivery, the driver never gave us a copy of the inventory list. He only allowed us to take a picture of it. It was actually never signed at delivery. He noted only the TV, but did not allow us to note other damaged items on the form. Later, the company stated the driver claimed he actually delivered the TV. Again, we have security footage of the entire move, which shows no TV being delivered.

Much more info is contained in the PDF and the two pictures given are simply a preview. All info within that PDF is provable with the documents, photos, and videos I possess.

  10. Igreenmoving (Above and Beyond!).

Moving is hard enough and my mover was very professional, courteous, and went above and beyond to make my move go smoothly today! Thank you!
