  1. Nailed it.

Herrmann Bros did a great job on my move from Florida to New york. I had a 100 cubic feet less than they quoted me and I got some money taken off on delivery. My delivery was late by a couple days from when they said it would be but I attributed that to the bad weather and not anything they did. They moved my grandfather clock and the guys that picked me up even took the door off and put it in a box for me! SUPER PROFESSIONAL! THANKS GUYS!

  2. Nightmare.

This was a horrible choice on my part. I was wrongly convinced this company would have good customer service and communication in my cross country move and they were affordable for our small amount of things. I was SO wrong. I was given the run around for 5 weeks! I was told my items were going on a truck, then not on a truck. I was told my items would arrive in “a few days” for three full weeks. I had to call them and beg for info, most of the time I was promised an answer by the end of the day and never got a return call. When I did, it was useless as they had no idea where my stuff was either!
They had basically zero communication with my carrier and almost never had valid information for me. I was told so many stories and date estimates, I was told the driver would call to schedule delivery and I didn’t hear from a driver until one week before the legal date they had to deliver by! My stuff was transferred to multiple trucks, multiple things broken. One box, filled with rat droppings! I was then told I wouldn’t have to pay for the extra fees due to the many delays (stairs) and made to pay them anyways- 130 extra dollars! . This was a terrible experience, leaving us, a family with a small child, completely possession less for weeks when we were lead to believe a completely different time frame, then given false hope for weeks. I have moved large and far moves several times and NEVER have I experienced anything like this. This took a major toll on us, we really believed we had lost all of our possessions due to the false info and lack of communication they were feeding us. I would not recommend them to anyone.

  3. Don't take a chance on Hermann Brothers.

After receiving a long dissertation of the commitment to customer service, warnings about other companies false claims and evoking the "Veterans" card, Hermann Brothers provided me with the worst move I have ever had. The smooth sale presentation quoted me a price and a firm delivery date so I could coordinate help on the other end.
After committing to the move, all meaningful contact disappeared. Hermann's is only a Broker. They depend on a network of small sub contractors who are often times uninformed regarding any details of the service promised. The first sub contractor "up charged" me 20% due to the inaccuracy of the Hermann Brothers quote. After the furniture was loaded, I was informed that there is no firm delivery date-delivery is any time within 21 days of loading.
The last Hermann Bros sub contractor showed up for delivery with no notice and no way to unload the Harley Davidson in the load. They were going to be forced to man handle it off the truck. Only after intervention by a neighbor and the professionalism of the driver, was a tow truck summoned but only after damage to my bike.
The sub contractors I dealt with were courteous and professional. They made the best of the shabby circumstances created by Hermanns "anything for a deal" methods. Steer clear of Hermanns.

  4. Terrible customer service.

Jackson Reid gave us an initial quote of $2400 for a move from CA to OR. After a visual walkthrough in the form of a video call they gave us an "overestimated" quote of $2800 (already an increase of 16%) for all of our belongings plus the materials needed to move us. The driver shows up the next day and tells us that the materials are going to be at least another $300-400 and that the estimated square feet we need was underestimated by 100. They are now telling us that it will be roughly $3500 to move us now which is a 46% increase over our initial quote. When we tried to get the company to help us with the difference in cost they refused stating it was our fault. We then tried to get our initital deposit back and they refused that as well. Worst moving experience my wife and I have had and we have moved 7 times in the last 8 years.

  5. Refered my client to them.

I am a auto transport company and referred a client to Herrmann Brothers Moving. My client was happy with their services. I was told that they followed kept her in the loop the whole way through. Thank you.

  6. Ripping Off Seniors.

This company is fraudulent. I spoke with a representative “J” on three different occasions to set up my move from Georgia to Florida. J was a smooth talker, even said he was giving me a military discount.
I was only taking a small living room set, without the coffee table, stands, or lamps. One 4’x4’ oil painting. A four seat round kitchen table and chairs. One tall dresser. Five night stands, one 4’ long desk, one small 2 little drawer desk, 2 small desk chairs, 2 wooden rockers (porch), small 2 seat iron ice cream parlor table with chairs, assorted bookcases (3), small push mower, weed eater, hedge trimmer, (which I was wrapping in a quilt and securing), 2 TVs, TV stand, approximately 60 small to medium boxes, a few miscellaneous items.
    No Appliances!!
In these three conversations with J, we went over everything in inventory, I removed some items and added a few small items. I told J on more than one occasion that I am a disabled senior citizen, and that I can’t see very well. I also made it clear that I have not had good luck with moving companies and would “Self Pack”.
My quoted price was just under $4,000.00 which I thought was costly considering.
Upon our last conversation, we went over inventory again (at my request). He asked if I had a smart phone, I said yes, at which time he told me to check my email for the list of inventory and contract. That I needed to sign now to assure I would have that time secured.
I opened the email and told him I couldn’t see that it was too small. He said it’s what we just went over, and told me how to get to the place for my signature, as I couldn’t even see that.
Early last week I received an email from “R” asking me to reply and give a day and time he could call so we could do a final check on inventory, for QA. Well, I did, but the call didn’t come until today (Move is day after tomorrow).
As he went over it, there were several items missing from his inventory. One was the kitchen table (but he had the 4 chairs), then he said he didn’t have my 2-7’ y’all mirrors, he had 2-2’ mirrors (if I had that size I would box them). He said I now have more than 610 square feet of truck space and it would be at least $700.00 more.
Well, I told him I couldn’t pay that. He stated that J misunderstood (all 3 conversations??). I asked why I should have to pay for J’s ineptness. Make an already long story short, he stated I would NOT be refunded the 1/3 of the total (deposit) back as it was to close to the move date.
Basically, they set it up so you can’t get your money back by making the QA call to close to move date. My attorney assured me that under the “seniors with disabilities act” I can recover my money.
When I informed them of this I was abruptly hung up on. However, I received another 2 calls from other employees of the company. Do yourself a favor, run from them!!

  7. My moving experience with Herrman Brother - horror story.

Be warned: Herrman Brother company is practicing premeditated extortion, and lies to customers.
The customer reps are very friendly until you sign up and submit your deposit.
They will go over your items with you, and will give you a fair estimation initially.
They will call you two days before your scheduled move (when it's too late to find another company), will ask you to measure your coach and table again, and tell you that the price will now be 2 times your initial estimation.
If you don't give in (like I did), they will hang up; the truck will come, and the driver will threaten to leave without picking up your stuff if you don't sign empty(!!) "revised estimation".
The customer reps will refuse to respect the initial agreement ("Please, we only need the volume we ordered, we rented a trailer if something is left")
The customer reps will lie to you on the phone about the truck volume (in this case it was a standard 26' UHaul truck)
UHaul says about this truck's volume: 1,600 cu ft (UHaul website)
Customer reps LIES: 1,800 cu ft

End of story: I had to rent the same type 26' truck from UHaul, and (surprise!) everything has fit in, with significant amount of volume left.
The initial estimation was correct - and the Herrman Brother company refused to respect it - they just left, and never called back.

Side notes about the truck driver (if you are comfortable with signing empty papers the truck driver demands you to sign):
    1. The truck driver this company sent to me (aside from extortion) pretended to hardly speak English. Selective, you know.
    2. I'm not a physician to claim that the driver is a drug user. But after two hours of conversation. My opinion. Forget my furniture. This guy should NEVER be operating machinery, not to mention cross country truck driving.
