  1. “Management” was difficult to deal with

    I will say the only good thing about this company is the driver/head mover we had named Robert. The entire move was a complete disaster. Rent a U-Haul and move yourself before using this company.

  2. Furniture and Valuables Destroyed Rendering Them Useless

    On January 10, 2021, I called and spoke with a person named [NAME EDIT] who provided her email for me to send an itemized list of damages/loss describing the furniture, values and property damage.

    On January 14, 2021, I emailed the company informing them about my dissatisfaction with the quality of the service I received from their movers and I shared pictures and videos to document the damage/loss incurred. There has been no response to my email.

    On January 21, 2021, I sent the same letter by certified return receipt and to date no response.

    Kappa Transportation was subcontracted through Pricing Van Lines moving brokers. Summary of events.

    • On December 28, 2020, movers arrived without the mattress and box spring protected cover that we paid Pricing Van Lines for during the initial contract process. We were told by Pricing Van Lines and it is written on the agreement we signed that they offered 30 days of free storage. The driver stated that this was not true, they do not offer 30 days of free storage and that someone needed to be available to receive the furniture on Wednesday December 30, 2020. We explained that on our contract it states that the furniture would not be delivered until 10-14 days from pick up. The driver stated you were provided with the wrong information from Pricing Van Lines.

    • After several back-and-forth text messages with the driver our furniture arrived on Saturday January 2, 2021. Due to the information provided on December 28, 2020 we had to contact the leasing agent at our new apartment complex to move up our move in date to December 30, 2020. Needless to say, this was not necessary because the driver made several excuses about why the furniture was delayed and would not arrive at the original date and time.

    • On Saturday, January 2, 2021, our furniture and valuable personal items were delivered; my partner and her witnesses were shocked and heartbroken to see our furniture's condition and valuable personal items that were damaged and destroyed. The boxes were filled with water inside and broken open exposing all of the items that were neatly packed inside of them and taped up when they were picked up. Throw pillows on my sofa were dripping with water coming out of them. Besides monetary losses due to valuable property and personal items damaged/destroyed, some of the books damaged/destroyed had sentimental value and are irreplaceable.

    • The box spring arrived with 3 large punctures/holes on the backside ($300.00), kitchen table chair had a large chip/scratch ($84.50), Sofa leg scratched/chipped, several brown water and dirt stains on the base, arms, and sides with our throw pillows dripping with water ($999.00), Books were destroyed due to water damage, the books were delivered covered in water and the box was broken apart ($210.00), Apartment wall in the bedroom damaged because the movers swung the bed frame into the wall, our apartment is brand new and has never been lived in ($300.00), Prorated rent had to be paid due to the lease being changed because the furniture was scheduled to be delivered earlier than our original move in date ($126.00). The total damages/loss is $2,019.50.

    I sent correspondences on two separate occasions to try to resolve this matter and to date there has been no response. The company was notified that we expected to receive a check in the amount of $2,019.50 for the itemized list that included damage to the apartment wall and prorated rent to be paid within 10 days of receipt of the letter dated January 14, 2021.

    Moreover, Kappa Transportation breached the original contract agreement when they did not deliver my furniture and personal items on the date promised and provided us with 3 separate delivery dates that were not only misleading but also inaccurate information. My partner and I also experienced a significant amount of pain, suffering and undue stress as a result of the poor service delivery due to the erroneous information shared by their drivers about the delivery date, our furniture and valuables arriving in boxes that were filled with rainwater and broken apart due to sitting in the rain wherever this truck stopped within the 6 days that it took to arrive. The unprofessional, poorly executed, reckless care when moving our furniture and valuables led to this disastrous outcome.

    In closing, we need your assistance with resolving this matter so that we can be made whole by Kappa Transportation paying for the damages and loss in the amount of $2,019.50 because their drivers were responsible for professionally moving our furniture and valuables in a safe and secure manner from Amarillo, TX to Richmond, VA. The drivers were fully aware of the fact and can attest to us informing them that we videotaped everything that was being moved prior to them moving our furniture and valuables and when they were received in Richmond, VA they were videotaped taking them off of their truck and moving them into our apartment.
