  1. Smooth and Efficient.

The moving team that handled our move was very careful with our things and were careful not to scratch any walls or floors of the apartment we were moving out of. They arrived and delivered on time and without any added charges.

We also used their storage units since our new flat wasn’t able to be moved into right away. The units were clean and easy to get into since they had a solid team managing the units.

  2. Nicely done.

We had no issues during our move to Hawaii. The cost was fair and the moving team quite friendly and helpful throughout. They wore protective gear during the move as well which was great to see.

    We recommend their moving services.

  3. Move to Hawaii went well.

A friend of ours in Hawaii recommended these guys for our move. They did a great job from beginning to end and honestly we had no issues at all which is rare if you’ve ever moved a large household. The cost was quite competitive and the team arrived in protective gear and were careful throughout the process.

  4. No complaints.

The team showed up on time and there were no issues with pickup or delivery of our things. They were highly professional and well-trained. There were no cost over-runs following the move.

  5. Good Recommendation.

I neighbor of mine had used LA for their move last year. These guys arrived on time and the cost was quite fair. I had no issues with the way they handled things. We also used their vehicle transportation and storage services since our new place in the desert was undergoing renovations. The storage unit was clean and climate-controlled and there was no damage to our vehicle along the way.

  6. Great job.

These guys really did a great job. They arrived wearing protective gear and things went off without a hitch. The cost was quite fair as I had gotten a few estimates from other movers in the area. They also shipped my car to my new condo on time and with no damage.

  7. The worst.

We called this company and were quoted $2,800.00, then Victor, the driver showed up, looked at our things and said we were misquoted, and it would be around $6,600.00.

When I asked why there was such a HUGE price difference, Victor told me that the salesman, Tom Lara, quotes far below the correct price to get the job, then they hire out the job to any moving contractor they can find to do it for them CHEAP, and hope that the customer will be willing to pay over double because they are stuck at that point.

When Manny delivered our things to our new home he came by himself, no professional movers with him, he hired to local laborers he found on Craigslist here where we live to help him unload our things, one of them being a senior citizen, yet we paid for a professional move..

They broke all of our glass for our furniture by stacking them directly onto each other wrapped in one of our rugs. The saddle bag on my bike was missing when it arrived, two expensive Penn fishing poles also were stolen. So, it seems they go through customer items and help themselves to whatever they like at their storage facility, real nice guys.

They lost, or threw away all of the hardware to the dresser mirror, and the bed. They promised it would be professionally assembled for us when delivered. They didn't care, Manny said there's nothing he could do for us. Obviously, he was trying to increase his profit by not paying professional movers to accompany him.

As they unloaded the truck the two laborers didn't know what they were doing, not being professional movers causing the unloading to take several hours longer. Manny asked me to mark off the items as they came off the truck if I wanted to be sure we got all our things, then after a while he had one of the other men doing it.
He marked off items that were never unloaded from the truck, like the fishing poles, but we couldn't keep an eye on him because we were helping the unskilled laborers bring our things into the house. The laborer who is a senior citizen struggled, and we felt badly for him..

Manny had our things completely mixed with other peoples things he had loaded together into one trailer, so he was asking us frequently, "is this yours?"

Then when he left like a bat out of hell, he left a GIANT mound of plastic shipping materials and debris eight feet high for us to clean up. ABSOLUTELY zero pride in their work or customer satisfaction.

These are the worst, unprofessional excuse for a moving company we have ever dealt with. But they're not a real moving company, they only SELL moving jobs, then hire ANYONE they can find to bring your things, this according to their own contractor Victor.

Knowing they only hire out their jobs to whoever will do them for the least, they have no control over what these contractors they hire do. So, we tried to contact them to tell them all that had been done to us, besides being bait and switched by them from the beginning.

When we called their office, Melisa and Annette gave us the run around for the last two months as we made our best attempt to settle with them, they refused.

The owner will not even speak with us, or the dispatcher, and Melisa would never return a phone call. We told Melisa what Manny came here and did, and we asked her if that's ok with the company how he treated us, and she said she would talk to her dispatcher and to call her back, of course she NEVER will talk to us when we call.

So, now we have to file complaints with the FMCSA, the federal motor carrier safety administration, DOT, department of transportation, BBB, AMSA American moving and storage association, and possibly to top it all off, file a small claims court action.

Be careful if you choose to do business with these people, you will probably end up in the same situation as us now having to deal with them.

That's why we're posting this review to warn anyone thinking of hiring these people before they end up like us..

  8. Great Experience.

They were professional and efficient. They were polite and respectful. Very smooth. Total move time less than half the same size move one year ago. David, lee and his crew were fast yet careful. They did not scratch any walls or furniture. They had great communication and asked us where we wanted things. They moved us in less time than the quote. I would definitely use LA Moving Centre again and I would recommend it to others.

  9. Made a gigantic mistake with these guys.

I’ve moved no less than 20 times in the last 15 years from houses all over the USA. This time I thought, go with a smaller group like LA Moving Center. John was fast w a quote . He was also 2500$ light once the bill came in.
The packers were great hard working from Guatemala. Great 4 guys. Took 2 days. They never stopped. And that’s the last nice thing I can say.
LA to NYC. Had to pay extra to book a specific time although I’d been assured originally there was no problem. “We know how to move in NYC” wrong. They didn’t. Big stress and hassle #1
Day of they showed up with 3 guys. The window was 9-5. This was a high rise apartment. Big stress #2
They were slow to get going. Wanted my cash up front of course. And my wife and I quickly realized we were in trouble. So we dig in and helped move with them. Unpacking unwrapping everything! Big stress #3 These 3 guys worked hard. Then a 4th guy showed. Then it was 6:39 and they had another trip to make for the rest of my stuff. See they didn’t pack the first truck well so needed 2 trips. Big Stress #4
Guess what? Building management wanted no more moving and Sunday is a no move day. Driver said basically tuff luck we are gone get another driver/ crew. We begged the building super to allow them to finish. He finally after my wife was in tears said ok. Gigantic stress #5 So again we moved the stuff with the 3 guys (#4 left and never came back to finish)
At 11:30 all the stuff was in the apartment. Boxes everywhere and a complete mess. Stress #5 as we were assured this would be a full service job but many items remained un packed and the check off sheet was never done if items moved!
We were exhausted as where the 3 guys. I tipped them 400$. Wtf it wasn’t there fault it was LA Moving for completely taking my cash and then hands up you’re on your own. Last thing. Damages and lost items!! Won’t Forgot to say the insurance they offer is a JOKE. We got 160 for about 2000 in damages and lost items. That’s stress #6 and the final straw for me.
The company showed no remorse. Tuff luck.
And..Well yes I did learn a lesson. Passing it on.
Moving is stressful and hard and you’re going to get a little dirty. Don’t make it worse for you or your Significant Other. Go with anyone else and go with reputable people.

  10. Good Moving Service!

LA Moving Centre were fantastic. They gave an accurate estimate, affordable pricing, professional company. My crew were on-time, polite, diligent, worked very hard, took great care of my belongings by wrapping up all furniture, and finished within the estimated time-frame. Employees on the phone were also polite and easy to work with. I have nothing but great things to say about using LA Moving Centre movers. Don't hassle your friends and family for help, these guys are the way to go.

  11. Smoke and mirrors.

I contacted this company for quotes early in the year for a May-June move date range. John was the one who quoted my move. He did not come to my house, but had me go from room-to-room and explain in detail what was there. I found that weird. I have moved constantly my entire life (18 years as a military brat, 20 year active duty) and this was the first time this method was done. I spent close to 1.5 hours describing and measuring furnishings, storage boxes, things in closets..etc.. This was for a 3000 square foot house. I was surprised on the cost. I actually asked him twice was he sure. He stated it was low since I was getting "off peak" rates by booking in the winter. He also said he gave me a military discount.

Everything seemed great until the moving date. They arrived late and the truck was extremely small. My wife even commented to the foreman and he agreed. The foreman did two walkthroughs with me to see what the conflict was between the quote and actual furnishings were. The error was the amount and sizes of boxes John put in the quote. He grossly underestimated the amount and size of boxes needed, again, for a 3000 square foot home.

The end of the day was near and the truck was packed. We still had a lot of household goods to go. John again was called and told another truck would be needed. He quoted another $6000 flat rate to finish the move. We were stuck. We sold the house and needed to get out of there in two days.
I was having my stuff delivered to a storage facility in Reno since my home is still being built. I called for 2 weeks straight to coordinate the delivery date and try to get a good estimate of what size(s) units I needed for storage. I got excuses from "it's the end of the month so we can't schedule next month" to " one of our truck broke down and we are trying to reschedule all the moves". I never got a firm time on deliver or what size of a unit I needed.

That being said, my weekend plan of delivery was pushed to midweek, which required me to take 2 days off work to be there.
The first delivery showed and the driver tried to get me to pay an additional $600 for heavy and bulky items. I explained to him that I was quoted a flat-rate. This infuriated him. He then said that I had to pay $25 per blanket they used. I told him no which he then instructed the crew to unwrap all my furnishing with blankets.

Second day: new driver - same demands for extra money I told him to call the company. He was alone and I asked him where the movers were. He said on their way. He then said he was going to charge me $10 a blanket which again I refused. This must be a driver scam.

I found out that LA Moving Centre and this driver placed a craigslist add locally for movers. I know this because one of the workers came up to me during the unloading and stated he was down to his last $20 and really needed this $40 for a date he had later that night. So much for the professional move that is advertised all over their website. A female also showed up and the driver told her she was no good to him because, "she was a girl and useless". I found this out when I saw her in the storage facility's office when I had to rent an additional unit.

I had to take over the move the second day since these Craigslist people had no idea how to stack properly. They tried to stack heavy boxes on professionally mounted canvas prints marked FRAGILE. They tried to stack items on my flat screen tv's..etc.

Then one of the helpers who was missing most of his teeth and looked 30 older than what he was (make all assumptions here) sliced his finger extremely bad with a razor cutting off the blankets. Blood shot everywhere..over my boxes, on the truck, on the ground, on the building..everywhere. I'm now afraid of bloodborne pathogens, hepatitus, HIV..etc.
I have tried to talk to someone for the last two weeks. No one is returning my calls. I am scared to open my boxes. Hopefully there is good news??

  12. Don't Use This Company It's a Scam.

I only gave 1 star because you can't do anything less! What a joke of a company. We hired this company to move our house hold belongings from California to Texas and it's been nothing but a fight from the time the truck showed up to load our stuff. They gave us one quote then tried to charge us for shrink wrap and packing tape, then after the truck was loaded they told us it would go to Sacramento to be loaded onto another truck which we were not made aware of and now its been a week and we can't get anyone to call us back, when we finally got a hold of someone she told us she didn't know where our stuff was, what truck it was on and didn't even know if it had left California. We've been staying in a hotel which is costly and I'm very worried as to where my belongings are. I lost my son 2 yrs ago and I have things on that truck I ca never replace and money won't fix it. How does a logistics company not be able to tell you where the items that we paid $8500 to move are, how this place is still in business is beyond me. Please take note of this and choose another company to move you.

  13. Stolen items, horrible customer service, horrible company.

I made the massive mistake of using La Moving Centre for a move from San Diego to Denver. They have some “senior moving consultants” that will talk a good game on the phone. They will send you all this info about BBB A+ rating (which is a lie), and then give you a super low estimate. They will claim they don’t subcontract anything.. they only used subcontractors for me. One my stuff was on their truck the movers told me the eastmate was wrong and I owed an extra 2000 dollars. Then they said I owed them 17% for a tip. After all the BS my stuff was supposed to come on January 9. My stuff didn’t leave LA until the 12th. I spent 1000s of dollars buying new things to live. Finally my stuff arrives.. 77 boxes.. and 2 boxes are missing. THEY DONT CARE. THEY WONT REIMBURSE YOU. It is going to take me suing these idiots to get my stuff replaced. Every person that works here is an idiot and will just stop responding once you make something an issue.
