Movers never showed up, owner is totally unaccountable.
Summary: Avoid, avoid, avoid. Completely irresponsible and unaccountable.
I contacted Dennis at McWhinnie moving after seeing a posting on Craigslist. We settled on a price, time/day and what I needed moved.
On the day of the move, I called Dennis and left a message to verify that movers were coming. I never heard back, but assumed that everything was still OK.
When the movers were 15 minutes late, I called Dennis. He answered and said "they're on the way, should be there soon." So I waited another 15 minutes, and called him again. Dennis said he would "call the movers, see what was going on, and call me right back."
30 more minutes go by, no call back from Dennis. I called him a few more times, but he didn't answer. Obviously the movers never showed up. But what absolutely amazed me was that Dennis didn't have the decency to admit that nobody was going to show up.
So there I was, with a house all packed up, rental truck backed up to my door, waiting for help that never arrived. This is an unpleasant situation, to say the least. Find a reputable company, even if they cost more, because moving is a huge deal - the time, stresses, and all of your stuff - and hiring a good place is money well spent.

I spoke with Dennis to set up labor to help me move items from a storage unit to my new home. Two men were supposed to come at 8:00 am. After waiting until 8:30 for them to arrive, I called Dennis and he said that he just found out the guys weren't coming, with no additional explanation. He said he would send someone else out and that they would arrive in 45 minutes. I waited for another hour and called Dennis for an update, and he didn't answer. I left a message asking for an update, and he never returned my call, and he did not answer any more calls. Bottom line, I wasted 2 hours waiting for these guys to show up, and Dennis didn't have the courtesy to tell me that it wasn't going to work out. If your time is important to you, don't bother with McWhinnie Moving.
The entire move job.
From when I called them to talk about my move I needed done from one apartment to another Dennis was very professional on the phone. They showed up on time and did the move much faster than I thought. They were very hard working professional and very nice. They did what ever was asked of them and much more. I would recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a mover. Nothing was broken or scratched. All and all this was a great company and I was very happy with there service.
