  1. Bait and Switch

Mile High Van Lines can't be trusted. The quote we were given was not what we ended up paying. Regis Delivery, was contracted by MHVL showed up 3 days late with a demand for payment prior to starting the delivery. They asked $1800 more than the signed contract. When I questioned the amount, the delivery service said they would not start w/o full payment and they won't accept credit cards.

  2. Review te

Terrible company. My estimate of 4,000.00 turned in to a total of almost 13,000.? they lied about the charges. Changed the price 3 times and said the driver added wrong?. That was the second time the price went up. The truck was already loaded and out of my control. The price was changed 3 different times before I got my furniture and told I must overnight a certified check before I could get my belongings. Antique pieces were broken and their invoice showed 94 boxes. When unloaded that driver only counted 30 boxes and 1 couch not 3 like on the invoice. Avoid this company.

  3. Absolutely Devistated

Honestly if I could give less than one star I would. Where do I even start? Over 28 boxes missing, both of my husband's ladders missing, so many items distroyed!! My brand new kitchen table and entry way bench destroyed and un usable! The PRICE SWITCH AT PICK UP WAS HEART FAILURE AFTER BEING PROMISED ON A RECORDED LINE THAT IT WOULD NOT BE QND WE WOULD MORE THAN LIKELY GET A REBATE BECAUSE HE OVER ESTIMEATED US! WE HAD SEVERAL QUOTES FROM OTHER COMPANIES THAT BEAT OUR QUOTE BY THOUSANDS, BUT I LIKED THE SALES MAN AND DECIDED TO TRUST HIM! DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! RUN RUN FAST! I WILL NEVER GET BACK WHAT I LOST OR REPLACED WHAT ALL THEY BROKE! VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

  4. Misleading Moving Company

If you are considering Mile High Van Lines (MHVL) as a moving service, I would suggest looking elsewhere. I was instructed by my job to obtain 3 binding quotes for moving estimates. MHVL was within our budget and all but guaranteed our items would be delivered by March 1st. The salesmen strongly suggested over and over that March 1st was not a problem and they could get our stuff transported in that timeframe. Another moving competitor suggested I get a guaranteed delivery date in our contract in order to ensure our stuff would actually show up on March 1st. So I contacted the salesmen from MHVL and asked him about guaranteed delivery. He told me that including the guaranteed date would take the quote above my company’s moving budget, but he said without the guaranteed date we should still receive our items by the 1st. With his “reassurance”, we decided to go with MHVL to move across the country.

The movers picked up our stuff on February 21st. We were expecting a week of no stuff with a newborn baby, a challenge in itself already. On March 3rd, I had not heard from MHVL to set up a drop of date, so I called the gentleman I had been communicating with to set up the move. He said he would get back to me. He returned my call a day or two later and said our stuff had left the 29th and we should be getting a call soon to organize the delivery. So I called again on March 8th to talk to a gentleman who let me know they had a driver for the move and our items had actually just left on Friday (March 5th). On March 11th, we are told our stuff will be delivered the next day around 1pm, almost 2 weeks after we were told it would be delivered. While we do understand we did not pay for a guaranteed delivery date, we feel misled by the salesman’s “guarantee”.

On March 12th, the driver shows up at 4pm with no additional movers. Instead of “door-to-door service” as our contract stated, the driver and I had to spend over 4 hours moving in the stuff. By the time we finished it was dark, my wife had been busy with our newborn, and we did not have time to do the full inventory. The driver had us sign the form stating we received our items and told us we should email the office about the damaged items (our chest of drawers and a few other smaller items). The next day when we finally had time to start unpacking, we found out our diaper pail, floor lamp, and step ladder were not delivered. We also received some other family’s box of stuffed animals (the box had an orange label and ours were pink labels). Frustrated with the damaged/missing/extra items, we contacted MHVL via email to discuss all of these issues and have received no response from them.

We are writing this review so people are aware of what they are getting into and to suggest you avoid this moving company (we had other companies give similar quotes without making “guarantees” they had no intention of trying to uphold). The positives: they were reasonably priced, the movers that picked up our stuff were all quite friendly, as was the driver who made the delivery. The negatives: they lied about the estimated delivery date, we received some damaged items, we are missing some items, we received extra items (which are still sitting in our garage until we figure out whether we can get them to the family they belong to if MHVL ever emails us back), and when we tried to contact them regarding these issues we received no response.

  5. Horrible and very Stressful

****DAY 2 AFTER DELIVERY UPDATE: FIRST I WANT TO ADD, THEY ONLY TAKE CASH OR CERTIFIED FUNDS FOR PICKUP AND DELIVERY. Probably, because they know you will cancel a check or dispute the credit card charge, which is what they deserve. I am finding more broken items and more missing. Add a box of coats with a very nice leather jacket. The company will not answer their phone. I have requested numerous times for a call back and NOTHING!!! Not even a call to say they are working on it. I have registered my claims as they requested. UPDATE: Well, things took a turn for the worse! They came for delivery then wanted even MORE money. After a huge breakdown on my part they finally agreed not to charge more. However, every box came in with something spilled on it! I was told it came from my own stuff. I didn't pack any liquids or anything that could spill because, I didn't think I could. Every box was crushed. My brand new toaster oven was smashed, they broke the zipper on my mattress protector and ripped holes in it, numerous items broken. Then interestingly right at Christmas, a 40 inch TV is missing. I saved the original box for packing. A fairly new Shark vacuum missing, a box of bedding nowhere to be seen. I had to sleep on blankets. The empty propane tank for my BBQ gone. I am still unpacking but, I am sure I will find more missing or broken. DO NOT use these movers. This was the most stressful, irritating and disappointing experience I have ever had.

  6. Long distance move Gresham, Or to Tempe Az

Beware!! Do not use this company to move you anywhere!! The original quote was $3200 and when they finished loading it rose to $5400. But that wasn't the bad part. When our belongings arrived and they opened the door to the truck it looked as though they had thrown everything into the truck. We cannot begin to explain the damage, but nobody from the company will return our calls. Some of the broken items are irreplaceable.

  7. Don’t walk RUN!

I would not recommend. This company. I thought they were great at first until they charged me $750 to move my things into my apartment. They severely underestimated your move when you get a quote. You will need at minimum DOUBLE the space they quote you. I actually had them increase my quote because of what another company quoted (it was more). They are terrible. You get what you pay for and some. The Mile high company will charge you. The local movers that come pick up your stuff will charge you and the ones that delivery your items will charge you. SCAM ARTISTS!!! I don’t know how they even have good reviews. They must be bought. Don’t walk RUN away from them. They are currently moving my items now. Hopefully nothing is broken but seeing the professionalism of this company I would not be surprised. They are not to be trusted.

  8. It was a big help for me.

The Mile High Van Lines is nice company in my life)

They worked fast, team was very professional! and they also always called me to update me on their arrival and pick up. They made sure of protecting everything and covering all the furniture. I would recommend.

  9. Worst Company Ever!!

It's hard to find things about our dealings with this company that have not already been said in the reviews below. I wish I would have been wiser and check them out better before doing business with these people. My wife said it best, "if you want your stuff broken or ruined, hire this company".

When you have an issue, they go silent. Only after getting a lawyer involved did I hear a response.

Many items broken, missed deadlines, broken garage door, missing a 55" TV, ?? how can they do that? This is the worst moving company ever! If you do business with them after reading these reviews you deserve to loss your money. In fact burn the money you would have paid them because it would be less aggravation and you would get a similar result.

  10. Absolutely AWFUL!

The company lied to me about full coverage of my items, lost a valuable box of mine, damaged 15 large and expensive items and will NOT return my emailsor phone calls. Oh and they told me on moving day when they came to get my things that instead of $2900 like they quoted me as that it would be $8000! This was for an 1100 square foot home! They’ll lie to you and rip you off! STAY AWAY!

  11. Moving Washington to Wisconsin.

Do not use this company. I waited 30 days for the arrival of my belongings, and NEVER received a call during the entire time.

I continually had to ask where the truck was.

They tried to overcharge me for tape.

The person who I signed the Agreement with never returned my calls or followed through on the lack of delivery.

I did my homework and thought I made the best choice out of 3 estimates.. I never thought to ask "what happens when you don't deliver during your printed delivery date."

    Do NOT use this company.

  12. My moving.

The great company Mile High ! I moved from CO to IL, everything was great for me, forward and simple. They picked up for the price they said they would and they delivered at the time! . Thank you a lot.

  13. Criminals And Crooks- Stay Way.

From the beginning the job was misrepresented. Joe was our sales person. First, he told me that the team that packed and loaded us on the truck on 11/9, would be the team all the way through. That was not true. We had two drop off places, so the truck was packed so that our furniture to our house would come off first and my husbands tools ( cabinet shop) would come off second. So when they packed to truck the tools went in first. I was a very professional pack and we felt good about it. The only thing that went wrong at that time, was that 3 pieces of glass for cabinets and a table top was not packed in a crate and we paid for 3 crates on our bill. The 2nd drop off was at no charge. Our bill was based on cubic feet and not weight. We on several conversations with Joe discussed the fact that we had some serious heavy pieces.
When the 26Ft truck was packed, there was approx. 9ft of space in the back near door, so we were clearly within the 1100 cub ft we estimated. This is where the problems began. The driver said he was not driving the truck ( a rental truck, even the Joe to me the company has 37 trucks). He told us it would be put in storage and delivered at some later time. We hit the road from Chicago 11/14 and arrived 11/15PM. We were told we would get a call from the driver. At that point Justin from Mile High started asking me to wire the balance due 3-4 days in advance. I said no. I told them I could give them a credit card or a cashiers check. They wanted a cashiers check. Then they asked me to make copies of it front and back, which I did.The truck arrived today with two guys that only spoke Russian and we couldn't communicate with them. The started to take our CUSTOM BUILT FURNITURE off the truck and EVERY piece is damaged. I got up on the truck and it looked like the back of a scavengers truck, all the tools and the furniture were mixed up, all the corners of the furniture are damages, cracked scratched and more. Pieces are missing. The were trying to give me things that weren't mine. My couch( day bed) has no legs, stools have missing wheels, boxes broken. It looked like someone just shoved everything in without any consideration of what it was next to. My husband had a 8ft compressor, that they laid on the side, so it's ruined all the oil is spilling out of it. We witnessed them dropping furniture and a table saw. I can provide photos.
When they got to the 2nd location my husband helped them unload, they only had one helper and he tried to ask us for more money.

  14. Absolutely Horrific Company.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND READING IF YOU ARE IFFY ABOUT THIS COMPANY: ALSO RECOMMEND FILING A COMPLAINT ON BBB TO HELP SAVE OTHER PEOPLE FROM USING THIS COMPANY THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.

And so the nightmare begins.. I looked at so many different companies and the salesman, Justin P, really sold me. He promised me this company was everything I could have wanted, etc. Communication was great, pricing estimate was great, and now here we are on move day and absolute horror. I was told they would be here on Thursday with no worries or issues. I understand they have a two day window but the sales man told me that I wouldn’t have to worry about Friday they would for sure be there on Thursday. (Wish you would have just told wed/thurs and this review might have taken a more positive turn) Someone was suppose to call to review the estimate and they never did that should have been a red flag there..The week leading up to the move I have been the main person in contact and doing everything because my husband is 1600 miles away doing school with his GI Bill in a two hour different time zone) Tell me why they call him and not me on Wednesday night to tell him they won’t be here on Thursday?? So now I’m not getting any calls and no one is returning my calls or answering me.. to make it better I’m 8 months pregnant and I HAVE to leave on Friday from Colorado to Louisiana for medical reasons. I finally get in touch with someone and the man is so DAMN rude to me and tells me it’s my hormones and not to stress.. obviously this man is the biggest idiot on the planet because that’s the number one thing you don’t tell a pregnant woman. I wouldn’t be stressed or angry if you answered my calls and had been communicating with me!! Okay, so I’m told they will be here no later than 12 but between 9-11a. It’s almost 12 and I have to leave at 3p to be in Colorado Springs. I’d rather cancel and lose my deposit than continue to deal with this horror. Anger and frustration doesn’t even cover what I’m feeling because of the lack of communication. They are still contacting my husband who is 2 hours ahead when the guy said he updated my phone number and they would be calling me to handle everything. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE.. I can’t even begin to imagine what other horrors we are about to face.. the other reviews show people dealing with broken items and lost things.. I’m to pregnant to deal with this and I’m just so frustrated and upset with this company after all these wonderful promises were made and I really believed it.

UPDATE: ha this company I should have just stopped and made them leave.. they showed up at my house at 1p in a uhaul that THEY RANDOMLY RENTED.. it was just two extremely sketchy Russian men that did not speak the greatest English. My stuff is probably broken and stolen and im screwed is all I’m thinking. I signed papers and read them through but the man did not have any copies of papers to give me which is 110% sketch.. to top this all off they did not have any tools to disassemble my furniture by the grace of God I had found some tools around the house to be able to take apart things yet I had to pay extra for them to do this when my butt ended up having to help. You are hands down the biggest scam and ripp off of a company that should be so ashamed to even call yourself a business. They left all their trash and screws to parts around my house and it was just the ultimate nightmare. No one will answer my calls or emails about receiving my items or even getting a copy of documents. Legal action needs to be taken place.

  15. Avoid Mile High Van Lines.

ITX LLC dba Mile High Van Lines, USDOT #1782839, stated in its "Binding Moving Estimate" that "if the load weight/cubic ft. [of a move] is less than the estimate, the customer will receive a credit for the difference. The load weight of our move was less than the estimate (witnessed and documented), but Mile High Van Lines has refused to refund the difference of $1,089. / On the day of the move, the actual movers insisted that the "Binding Moving Estimate"was too low even though a careful review of the things to be moved was given to the "Senior Moving Consultant." The movers insisted on rewriting the estimate, increasing the load weight by 329 cu. ft. Our house had already been sold and we had no choice but to agree. I contacted the "Customer Service Manager," and was assured that we only needed to record the weight upon delivery, inform them, and a refund would issued. We did this, but Mile High Van Lines refused to issue a credit. In addition, we were never given a copy of the new "Binding Moving Estimate," the "Bill of Lading," or the "Home Goods Descriptive Inventory.".
