  1. Packing Crew Stole Items.

This review is in relation to Moovers Inc who we used to move our house contents from San Francisco to Seattle in June. To be upfront, the actual movers on the day of pickup and the delivery (via National Van Lines) was just fine. We paid a lot of money for 'packing services' to be included as part of this move. On the day of packing (June 16th) the crew showed up - seemed like 3 nice enough guys - we even bought them lunch and gave a good tip. However, much to our huge disappointment when our stuff showed up in Seattle: - We found that my wedding ring(!) had been stolen from a downstairs bathroom in addition to a new bottle of cologne. We know this because all my other cologne bottles showed up and my ring was always in the same place. I was so busy in days leading up to the move I forgot to pack it away myself. - Most of the electronics were packed without any protective wrapping (paper or bubble wrap) - my printer was smashed and stereo receiver was broken. Needless to say the stolen items has caused huge upset for us - you expect that a 'licensed and insured' company such as Moovers Inc would use reliable and trustworthy packing crews that are being let into your home. Its equivalent to daylight robbery. Unfortunatley Moovers Inc were neither understanding or helpful on the stolen items - because I didn't meet all of the following criteria:
    >Able to prove items were tendered for shipment – this is normally done with the inventory or in this case should have been listed on a high value inventory form
    >Able to prove that we failed to deliver the items – this is normally done at check off with items noted as missing, or cartons that appear to have been tampered with
    > Must be a determinable value – which you have placed but there is no support of the amounts claimed
I was never notified about a 'high value inventory form', didn't have any checklist or receipts for my wedding ring bought 10 years ago. To make it worse the Sales guy (Charles) never returned my calls - everyone is friendly until they get their check and then nobody cares.          .

  2. Moover"s Inc.

We had to move and since we are getting to an age that we are unable to do it ourselves, we looked for different movers.  Moovers, Inc. was an excellent choice for us.  The customer service on the telephone was very professional, the driver and mover were super great.  They arrived a little earlier than expected (which was great) and they had a very professional attitude. They got the job done in 3 hours and everything was put where we wanted it.  Will most definetly contact and use them again if we need to move.  Thank you for the GREAT service.

  3. Cross country move.

I can not say enough good things about our experience with Moovers Inc. from our estimator, to our salesperson, Chris, to our driver, Art, & our packing and Loading crews in CA and MD, things could not have gone better.
I was especially impressed with the professionalism of the driver and crews. They were polite, efficient, and hard working. They listened to all of my concerns, followed my instructions concerning delicate & fragile items, and were honest & reassuring every step of the way. Everything arrived safely, with absolutely no damage.
A move of this magnitude is stressful enough. I am so thankful that I never once had to worry about the safety of my belongings or the honesty of the crews.
Thank you, Art, for safely delivering our entire household to the opposite coast!

  4. 1 good move, 1 bad.

My first move several years ago from NY to CA went off without a hitch.  They showed up and got the job done and delivered everything on time and in decent condition at the other end (1 vase broke, but that's not the worst thing).

My second move from CA to MD was terrible.  The pickup was on time but they threatened to charge me $400 extra to pack my TV which was clearly listed on their quote.  In the end, they packed the TV and took it.  And then..silence.  I never got a call regarding the delivery time.  The day before everything arrived, the driver finally called me.  I scrambled to have someone available to take the delivery and was threatened with additional charges if I couldn't take the delivery on that date.

I managed to get someone to take the delivery.  They showed up and claimed that they needed to bring another truck because they couldn't bring their deliver truck down our straight driveway.  They charged an additional fee at that point to deliver the goods into the house.  They broke a wardrobe (cracked in half from top to bottom) along the way.

It's too bad because I thought I found a good moving firm.  I recommended them to friends who were moving too.  It looks like I'm still looking for one.

  5. Highly recommend.

We had an excellent experience with Moovers Inc, who helped us move from California to New York. Mike Wunder did the estimate for us in an efficient and professional manner -- he came to our apartment and immediately provided us with the estimate in writing. The packers/movers/helpers in California, Micha Arnon, Tyler Henriques, and Donnie Young, and the driver and movers in New York, Mike, Carlos, and Edwin, were professional, efficient, and friendly. We will move with them again in the future if we need to, and highly recommend them.

  6. Terrible Business, Damaged Goods, Late Delivery, Profoundly Unprofessional-Pittsburg, CA site.

The move was overpriced. There is no communication. The manager, a man, yelled at me when I asked him the estimated arrival on their LATE shipment. They broke my furniture ( see below). They said 2 weeks max and I am going on 3 weeks now, still waiting my belongings. They are unpleasant and rude. I would not recommend these guys to anyone.

Keith Dolphin and Anthony Campbell have poor communication skills, They even had poor communication amongst one another. Keith thought I was moving into storage unit and Anthony knew I was moving into a unit. the site never updated the forms to say I was not moving to Brooklyn, but rather Manhattan.

On arrival, the team who picked up my furniture, Joh Harris, broke my West Elm desk valued at $300 because he refused to break down the desk instead wrapping it in shrink wrap only for it to pop off. I still bought these guys Subway lunch and tipped $20 each (3 movers) because I understand they are movers and probably do not make much. I was generous beyond belief.

They always sounded annoyed when I called to inquire about MY belongings that I was paying them to move. no one is on the same page. The salesman, Anthony, and his manager, Keith, totally did not have any of my logistics straight.

The truck 'broke down'. No one called me and told me! I called them to figure it out. They had no idea when the part would be available or when it would reach the truck. Keith Dolphin was screaming at me when he should have been salvaging what was left of any trust I had in his company. I had to get attorneys involved in this fiasco.

Do not use this company, if you care about the belongings that you paid your hard earned money for, or think you should be treated as a human being!

  7. Great Movers.

Mover who arrived was honest, fast, personable, answered all of my questions.

The quote they provided me was the amount I paid at the end.

Excellent driving with the large truck.

THey called 24 hours in advance then arrived exactly when they said they would for pick up.

They let me know when they would drop off my belongings about 3 days beforehadn and again arrived when planned.

    Nothing broken.

My car was shipped on the truck also - no damage, so smooth and easy.

  8. Moovers, Inc.

On the pickup side, Moovers was OK. They showed up on time and were mostly careful with everything they handled. Once they left with our boxes -- we were moving very little furniture -- they clearly were careless. They totally ignored anything marked "fragile" and must have tossed and thrown the boxes since several arrived crushed and one was torn open. They broke only one irreplaceable item but we're convinced it was only one because we used extra padding on everything.

Additionally, one of the points they stress is that you will have the phone number of the driver. Yet when we called the driver after 15 days to find out if he had any idea of when he would arrive we got his voicemail and did NOT get a response from him until we called the office a day later to complain.

They were the most expensive quote that we got and we are not convinced that they were worth the extra expense. Mostly we were disappointed with them because they came so highly recommended.

  9. Great Move with Moovers, Inc.

I just finished my move with Moovers, Inc on 11/6/09. This is an awesome company. I got soooo many quotes before I decided on a mover. Most had little clauses like an extra $75 for every 75 feet, $75 for every 6 stairs, etc. I knew with most of these companies they would find a way to tack on additional charges by the time my stuff was delivered. Also I was confused about the whole cubic foot thing, which really leaves you at their mercy. My mover/driver was Michael. He was great about contacting me ahead of time to let me know when he would arrive, and I was always able to reach him both before and during my move. He was a great guy, who I could tell actually cared about MY stuff. Moovers Inc gave me a binding estimate based on 5000lbs, which included EVERYTHING. Nothing extra to shrinkwrap, or take stairs, etc. I orginally estimated I would have 30 boxes. I was wrong. I probably ended up with more like 40 to 50. Michael thought I might go over my weight estimate, which had me worried I would end up owing more on the other end of my move. Imagine my surprise when he called me and told me I did go over my weight by like 300 lbs, but it would NOT cost me extra!! I paid the binding estimate price. You don't put a lot up front like other companies, just $250 to hold your spot to book your move. The rest you pay at delivery. I will recommend this company to anyone and everyone I know that is moving, and I will most definitely use them again for any future moves. Make sure you ask for Michael. He is great!
