  1. Do not use these movers!

    I contracted with this company to move all of my household goods to my new home in a nearby town. The two movers worked very hard, but did not move all of my things because the truck was full. So I had to transport 4 carloads on my own to my new house. I found out two days later they have only medium size trucks, not real moving trucks. Scuffed up furniture, missing items, clothes washer connections reversed, and my adjustable bed not set up properly were other issues I had. This company does not care about their customers, once they get your money. One star review because there isn't less than that.

  2. POOR CREW AND MANAGEMENT

    Movers are unreliable and very dishonest, Had the WORST experience and to top it off BARRY IS A COMPLETE IDIOT, the guys arrived and was told what needed to be loaded and what was preferred to be loaded at the end, first off the driver (white guy) arrived with a HUGE GOLD GRILL in his mouth (unprofessional) a bulk of chains around his neck like he was heading to a club & every time he lifted something he was afraid of them getting broken, my mom started instantly getting frustrated because they were just horsing around and found time to step outside to talk to someone they had called up in a silver truck, they were on my moms time & acted like nothing was wrong, they then told her they made need to make several trips bc they didn’t load the truck how she requested they did what they wanted to do, we started asking for Barry’s number and the crew acted like they didn’t know it after they had been talking to him on different occasions while loading, they also damaged property and lied like they had reported it and did not, wouldn’t even provide a copy of the signed paper saying they was aware of damages. long story short we had a very horrible experience with the first crew they took 4 hours to just LOAD, everything was broken down and ready to be picked up and loaded tried to charge $100 per TV for a LOCAL move which is Free(4TVs)they left all TVs, several important things behind like refrigerator, upright freezers, dressers, a electric wheelchair, bbq grill & many other things that should have been loaded, once contacted Barry he advise he would send a new crew and they will go back at those things once the new crew unloaded everything, they demanded payment before the job was complete my mom payed with no problem and they told her once they return to get the items lefted they would provide her with her change, my mom got in her car thinking they was trailing her to get the items lefted, they dipped off and went another way, called Barry no answer, called the main office they transferred me to Barry no answer again, so at this point I know we’re being ignored because he understands I’m someone that has dealt with the company before and familiar with policies, I had to mention in text that they had damaged her refrigerator and she needed to know what was gonna be done about it, he finally called right back saying it hadn’t been reported but the crew advised they reported it and had her to sign a paper she couldn’t get a copy of, he asked for photos of the refrigerator stated he was going to send her change via mail and also take care of the refrigerator, yesterday we received a $750 check which is the amount she paid to be moved, no acknowledgement about the refrigerator so I texted him advising $750 isn’t enough to cover the cost of the damage or dents or to replace it, mind you he had the model and serial number of the product NORESPONSE AGAIN ! the guys also don’t know where they misplaced any handles, they didn’t wrap it either to prevent any damage, they spent 2 hours trying to remove doors off an old rusty freezer to prevent damage but didn’t take any precautionary steps to prevent the new refrigerator from damage (we’re talking about a brand new whirlpool $2,500 refrigerator that hasn’t been in the home 6months) also when they guys advise they would be trailing her BARRY had already planned to have the guys go another way, he told me “I advised them to leave as quickly as possible” ok but the job wasn’t complete, we never signed a completion form & Barry is the one who offered the “we’ll go back and grab everything that was left free of charge for the inconvenience LIE“ we sat on the phone arguing back and fourth like a married couple, he had a lot of unprofessional words came out his mouth so I became very disrespectful because I’m making your company money and this how you decide to treat returning customers, I wouldn’t have recommended a dog if I known he operated this way, if you did not want to do it you shouldn’t have mislead a 60year old person of something you’re not going to do, my mom had to get a uhaul (paying out more money) to get the other items that was left behind and pay someone to move it from one place to another which was the whole purpose of using this company, so now that he has abused his contract, We will be filing a claim against this company and we’ll see this clown or whichever other clown they have apart of their circus in court! BE AWARE of this SCAMMING company, how do a crew get paid before a job is complete and run off with somebody money? don’t provide change or receipt? this whole experience was overall Bullshit! I forgot to mention the teams was standing around chatting about how Barry sends them to do his dirty work, how he doesn’t do nothing but ride around and watch them, work the hell out of them for the little pay & also stated they won’t be around much longer, Barry is very lucky he wasn’t on site during the move because he would’ve been swallowing his teeth!

  3. Beware ... Employees are not truthful and management is unprofessional

    Motivated Movers of Millbrook damaged my bedroom furniture and then later said that I did it!

    Even though the movers assured me they would take responsibility for the damage at the time it occurred with documented pictures, Barry Arrington at Motivated Movers of Millbrook now tells me that the movers said that I did the damage!

    I have used the Millbrook location multiple times and spent thousands of dollars ... no more. This is how they show their appreciation for a good customer? Unbelievable

    Mr. Arrington was very offensive and stated I am lying about the $200 in damage. I have no reason to lie about $200 in damage after tipping their employees $500 and spending over $3000 with them. I have overlooked their unprofessional behavior at times because I thought they were doing the best they could do with with no leadership.

    Beware and be prepared for young men to show up who complain about being underpaid ($10/hr they said), are constantly on their cell phones, and continually solicit you for tips. Very disappointed and obviously the employees cannot be trusted.

    I would highly recommend using someone else unless you want to be accused of damaging your own furniture.

  4. Very Motivated Movers!

    Bradley's guys at Motivated Movers in Millbrook, AL, were great in moving our furniture from one building to another. They even moved a refrigerator down a flight of stairs and then back up a flight of stairs, took the entrance door off the hinges and put it back on to get the refrigerator into the kitchen without a scratch. They were awesome! They were also fast and on time but very careful with the office furniture and conference tables and huge hutches. Very reasonable price. Have had to pay double with other movers to do the same thing, but the other company was taking advantage of a business move. Motivated movers did not take advantage of us! They were great! Thank you!

    My dad downsized and, while not moving everything, he had a lot of stuff! The guys were very professional, nice, and efficient. They arrived earlier than expected and worked tirelessly to get the job done. I have not found anything broken or damaged in any way. I would defintiely recommend this group to my friends.

  6. Nice people, but they don't stand behind their company.

    Here’s a fact-based review of Motivated Movers. My parents recently moved out of state from Chattanooga, TN and selected Motivated Movers of Chattanooga based on recommendations from a real estate agent and an attorney they knew. The Motivated Movers person who gave them the quote, the packers, and the movers were all friendly people, and the price was fair.

    The move was from their house in Chattanooga to a local storage facility that the mover picked (not owned by the moving company), then later from the storage facility to the out-of-state location once the new house was ready. Packing was quick, and they were careful to not damage walls/doors.

    However, many small items did not arrive at the new house at all (a list was provided to the mover), and a number of items were damaged beyond repair somewhere between the old and new houses (photos and a list were provided to the mover).

    I realize things sometimes get broken by any mover, but adequate packing and protection is expected for everything moved. A painting that has been in the family for generations was packed in a large wardrobe box with no protection or packing materials along with metal pipes and tools. This very old painting arrived with a tool poking through the painting. Other fragile items (ceramic and glass) were placed in boxes with no protection and arrived broken. Two floor lamps with glass tops were broken as they were taken off the truck at the new house (we watched them get broken).

    The majority of goods were packed well, but others were packed with little or no protection. We provided a detailed list of missing and damaged items along with photos of the damage to the mover.

    They told us that damages are handled by their insurance company. We were paid a total of $150 for all damages and missing items (paid by the pound, which is standard mover/insurance procedure). Opinion: Despite the standard insurance policy, a mover should take responsibility if one or more of their packers did not pack properly, and the company should make it right with the customer. This company did not make it right with us.

    The Motivated Movers of Chattanooga person referred us to the corporate Motivated Movers manager. We talked with him several times, and he promised to send additional compensation for the damage. After several weeks we had still not received the check promised. We made more calls and sent more emails, and were promised the check would be sent immediately. Now several months later, we have never received the 2nd compensation check that was promised, and the manager no longer returns our calls or replies to our emails.

    We have since let our Chattanooga real estate agent, our attorney friend, and others know about our experience with Motivated Movers so they can decide if they still want to recommend this company, and we will continue to tell others about our experience.

    Obviously, some people have had a good experience with this company - we did not. These are the facts.

    Please seek a different moving service. The movers are dishonest and cannot be trusted. On November 19, 2019, two of the movers stole over $800 worth of shoes from my storage unit during the move. I did not discover the issue until I book the service again and the movers discovered empty boxes. I tipped and provided food and water to the movers and was still left with the treatment of stolen products from my storage unit. The area manager, Barry, was contacted and he basically told me that it sounded like a personal problem. The employees are not screened and are basically hired by word of mouth. DO NOT trust the company or movers. The movers all complain about Barry and how he sends them out to do all of his dirty work. Barry is very unprofessional and rude. I have proof of all allegations and a documented conversation. I have text messages from the movers that indicates that one of the movers stole the other movers’ tip (that I provided) that was intended to be shared with the entire crew. When I asked him about it, he stated that he didn’t know why he didn’t share the tip. I tried to make contact with Ben at the headquarters and I have yet to receive a return call back from Ben. They do not take responsibility for their employees. Again, I highly recommend that you DO NOT USE this company. They will respond with a miscellaneous reason for this review, but I have plain evidence. If you are told that the following movers (Austin T., Dyllan S., and Dakota T.) will be visiting your home, do not allow them to provide the service or enter your home or storage unit. My experience has been HORRIBLE with this company. DO NOT USE this company!

  9. Do Not Use.

    We sold our home last year and hired them to pack us up and load everything into storage while our new home was being built. Jeff, the owner, came out and was really friendly and provided us a quote of $1,275 to pack and move to storage and then $900 to move out of storage and into our new home. After we signed the paperwork to move into our new home they altered it - increasing the amount from the $900 they quoted to $4k+! They damaged TONS of our furniture, ruined our new walls and door, broke hardware, deep gouges to wooden furniture, broken electronics, broken decorations on and on. Their workers admitted they had damaged everything and assured us the owner would make it right and correct the paperwork. He did no such thing. The following morning we emailed Jeff - the owner, pictures of the damages and asked him to come and inspect everything and take care of us and correct the contract to reflect their quote. Instead he refused and demanded immediate payment. When we insisted a representative come out he refused and instead sued us! The judge awarded us damages in our countersuit and to date they have ignored numerous emails and calls attempting to get them to honor the Court Order. I'd add more photos but this site only allows 2.

    I had a very good experience using motivated movers for my local move within Montgomery recently. These young guys were very professional, polite, attentative to detail and when I say I've never seen guys so motivated in my life I mean these guys did not stop running the entire move yet they continued to be very careful for the ultimate safety of my belongings. I highly recommend this motivated movers office out of Montgomery, AL from Kristina the lady I spoke with in the scheduling office to the crew they sent on my move the whole operation was flawless.
