  1. Cross country move.

Don't be fooled by this company. They ask you how many items you have. Then they sent a person out to recheck. When the truck arrived the guys started loading they put your items on any way possible to get more weight. They told me another $8500. I told them to unload my stuff that not what I was told in beginning. informed you are charged by weight.Instead of taking my items to Florida they sent to Las Vegas. when I called to find out where my items were in a storage in Vegas. I had to have them redelivered to Florida when they had a driver coming my way instead of where they were supposed to be at the moment. Another week without anything. When it arrived in Florida after the days it was promised, it was put in another storage another 50 miles until I could get a U-Haul to unload it from their unit to my house. You picked it up from the house and can't deliver correctly.

  2. Late, Unprofessional, Mishandled Items.

We used this moving company to move across the country. We arranged to have the movers hold our belongings for 6 weeks and then deliever them when we got to the east. They didn't show up the day the day of our scheduled pick up. They were supposed to come in the morning and around 4pm they called and said their truck was broken and they woud TRY to get there the following day in the morning.  We had to stay in a hotel that night b/c we were all packed and we had rented our furniture which had been picked up already. They arrived the FOLLOWING DAY at 6pm a full 30 hours AFTER the scheduled time.  They were totally unapologetic and went so far as to tell me it must have been nice for me to have an extra day to pack! Then they had the audacity to tell us they have an HOURLY WAITING fee if we are not there at the scheduled time of delievery. Fast forward 6 weeks, and we arrive at our new complex only to get a call from the movers that they will charge us an additional $450 dollars because the truck they brought didn't fit through the gate of the complex. As I mentioned, we had rented our furniture, so all that we moved were boxes.. for a two bedroom apartment. CLEARLY it isn't our fault they drove an 18 wheeler. The people were rude and unprofessional and essentially held our stuff hostage until we agreed to pay. The boxes were a mess. Those marked fragile, very fragile, were dented, upside down, and with holes.  A few items were broken, boxes were chewed through.. some were even missing the top! Large chunks of the box were just missing!   I have personally moved 4 times in the last 4 years -- I know how to pack, I use bubble wrap generously and use good quality boxes. The damage to our boxes was clearly the result of mishandling. Becareful with this company.

  3. Move it Forward.

We hired Move it Forward because of the verbal guarantees they made us on expert packing, specific measurement capabilities, inventory listing and box labeling. We submitted a deposit of 870$ based on 750 cubic foot estimate, the remaining 2900$ to be paid upon collection and delivery. When moving day arrived a secondary "company" (some guy with a U Haul) arrived and eyeballed the contents of our house. He said there was at least 2600 cubic feet and tried to charge us extra for the four stairs on our porch and 25$/box for packing our items. We sent him away and put in an alarmed call to Move it Forward.     The following day they sent another guy with a truck from yet another "company" who was slightly more professional and had marking to delineate cubic feet. His helper told us that each mark represented 100 cubic feet. Later the driver corrected him and said each one represented 150cf. There wasn't enough person-power to get the move done as promised, so my husband had to work the entire day.  When the truck was loaded, it was filled to the 7th mark. The driver claimed a totally illogical  2600cf as our total and demanded that we owed 2900$ now and 2550$ upon delivery. We were exhausted and looking at all of our stuff as held hostage by these guys who could destroy it. Feeling bullied, we signed a contract and paid the money.     When the items were delivered, a THIRD "company" showed up in California. Because we had explained that we had a forklift to put things in the upper level of a storage container, the driver decided not to hire anyone to help unload the truck and my husband was once again necessary to do extensive lifting and moving. Also, we were required to pay in advance of the unload. But when the 100cf container was filled 3/4 of the way full the driver made no apologies for the over payment and drove away.     Basically, Move it Forward took our deposit and brokered our move to the lowest common denominator(s). We were bullied or bamboozled every step of the way. A bedside locker, bicycle and television have been "lost" in the move (and who knows what else as our stuff is still in storage). Additionally, several items were broken in the move. We contacted Move it Forward about all of these items and NEVER get a return call. The company that originally packed us up (Moving Express & Storage Inc) have a bogus contact number on their contract so we have no repercussions. Overall, it was a living nightmare. Buyer be ware of this company.

  4. Move It Forward.

They called 1 day before the move to reschedule - when we said we could not they sent the truck 11 hours later than what we scheculed it for. They came so late (8:15PM) they could not finish and had to return the next day. They have another company (Moving Express) to come in and they tried to charge me for packing when I had a contract with Move it Forward to pack for free. They then delivered a couple of days late and I'm missing over 20% of my boxes (43 boxes missing). Our mattress' were not covered and are dirty from shipping. Many damaged items due to poor packing. If you have any choice - DONT GO WITH EITHER OF THESE COMPAINES!

  5. The Worst !!

The WORST!! They picked up in California over 1 month and 1 week ago. Charlie promised delivery in to New Jersey in 5-6 days - and still the truck has NOT LEFT Las Vegas!!

They never return phone calls - when finally reached, they say it is going out on "the weekend". That was 4, going on 5 weekends ago! AND STILL NO DELIVERY! ONLY SILENCE!! Are they legitimate?  I don't think so!! Were are my possessions? My memories? My valuables? Is there any recourse for interstate FRAUD?

  6. HORRIBLE company, SCAMMERS.

I NEVER write these bad reviews, but I would honestly never want anybody to use this company ever. Please take my word, I tried moving across the country on a budget, and thought "Hey its not my own POD, as long as it gets there, I don't care if it's on a big semi truck with other peoples belongings, at least I'm saving $1000".My first bad move- the Internet at my fingertips and I didn't read reviews first. I booked my move, the salesperson was very pleasant and kind.  I was quoted 1900 lbs = $1030 and anything over would be .60lb.  He instructed me it would take about a week to get to my new home in TX from NJ. I paid the 30% deposit. I called a few days ahead to confirm & everything seemed fine. I was called 24 hours ahead from the foreman to confirm, and was asked if I wanted to be at the truck weighing place (40 minutes away), the night before my move. (Bad move, I said no)Moving day: Foreman comes in, Benny, walks through my apartment without picking anything up and tells me it's going to be an extra $1000 because "he can just tell by looking at everything". He tells me my options: Either pay an up front binding cost, after moving everything without taking the truck back to the weigh station, or go to the weigh station and get everything weighed and pay the price for whatever it may way. [Note: truck was weighed at 8:20AM, I lived 40 minutes from the weigh station, truck arrived around 10AM..why an extra gap??]. I told him I'd pay by check, he told me if I did that I would have to wait an extra 7-10 business days BEFORE my shipment was sent for the check to clear.  Nowhere in the contract did it state this. I was telling him this and all he said was there's nothing I can do about it, that's the policy, either that or pay cash.  My mother was there and didn't understand why his company would do this, he proceeded to call her rude, tell her she was not listening to him, and told us that he would just leave it that's what we wanted.  I obviously already paid a deposit so I was stuck.  They packed the truck, and told me I can either pay them $2000 or go get it weighed which would be even more then that.  I was so angry, livid and ready to punch this man in the face that I went to the weigh station because I knew he was ripping me off. He was by far the MOST ignorant and unprofessional person I have ever encountered in my life. Nonetheless, driving to the weigh station, the truck weighed in my shipment an extra 50 lbs that I was quoted (1950lbs). Oh and one more thing, I had pictureframes, wrapped in a blanket, taped up and was told it may break but Benny offered to put it in a box for me. I agreed, and then later when presented with the bill, there was an extra $71 charge for "packing supplies". When I argued I wasn't paying it, I was told "I told you you had to pay extra for packing supplies". I told him to take it back then and I'd pack it myself. He said it was too late. He never told me how much it would be to pack THREE boxes. The price included prices of the boxes ($10-15 a piece), and then labor costs for packing it which took all of about 5 minutes. ($12-17 a piece). It costed more to pack it then for the box. Please take note: when you have a reliable moving company, they insist on cash, and they DON'T show up in a rented moving truck from the local Avis truck rental place. Oh, and they don't scream at you. Two days after pickup of items, I called the office and spoke to "Rachel in Accounting" and the next day she told me it doesn't take that long for a check to clear, maybe 3-5 days. So the 3rd day after my pickup, I called and she told me that the check cleared, and my shipment would send out the following day or the day after (Day 4 or 5). Day 5 comes around and I call to make sure the truck left, and spoke to someone else who said the check hadn't cleared yet (when the bank confirmed it was cashed on Day 2 after the pickup). My items were "suppose" to arrive the following week, 7 days after pickup.  I actually got the truck drivers number who was moving my items down and called him on Day 8, and when I mentioned Move it Forward moving company he sounded puzzled. I guess he finally realized what I was talking about and stated he hadn't even left NJ yet and would leave the next day.  Lets just say I called him a few times after, and the company about 15 times from the time they picked up my items until they delivered, and maybe got through 2-3 times without any messages returned. So when did my shipment arrive? 2 weeks later. A WEEK after it was supposed to. So the truck driver, Alex arrives and measures how far he'd have to bring my items and tried charging me an additional $550. I tried getting him to move his truck closer to my building, but he "said" the truck wouldn't fit. He then told me I owed a balance of $525 before they would take anything off the truck, in cash.  I only owed $500. On the contract, all the prices were added up, minus the deposit and amount paid at pickup= $500. They actually wrote OVER the 500 and wrote 525. You could clearly see it. When I told "Alex" I wasn't paying it, I was told it was probably for packing supplies. I told him if you add up the numbers, the balance equals $500. He then stated "Oh its only $25". I refused to pay it. Then a little later he tried charging me an additional $75 saying the company told him to charge me that for the waiting time since we were trying to find a closer place for the truck to park so I wouldn't have to pay the additional $550. I refused and said nowhere in the contract stated that. He said it's not on "that" contract (the one I had) but in the other one, and the company office was closed so I couldn't call. I refused, my bf stepped in & started arguing with him and then Alex said he was going to just leave (with my stuff STILL on the truck). I told him I'd call the cops and walked away. I did, but then my bf told me it was fine so I hung up. So in the end, I refused to pay an extra $550 for them to bring my items upstairs so they unloaded on the sidewalk, and my boyfriend and friend lugged everything upstairs. They ended up breaking the legs off my TV stand, scratched up my couch, coffee table, tv stand and my box springs were dirty from the move. I did not feel like filling a claim because it would take a lifetime to even get through to the office & I know I'd never get any money from them for damaging my items. If you took the time to read this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, find a reliable company to move your items, do your research on the company beforehand, and pay the extra money for a reputable company.  I would never wish this stress and frustration upon anybody.  Please spread the word to everybody you know to NEVER use Move it Forward as each person scams you, and tries to overcharge you in any way they can.

  7. Best Moving Service.

I spoke with Jessica who was helpful and knowledageble. She quoted me a binding price of $6999.00 for the full service move with packing from NV to FL. She told me that this was the final price and as long as everything went on one truck it would not cost more. The guys came early in the morning and started packing everything up. they did an excellent job with the packing and managed to place everything onto the truck in one day. By 6 pm the guys left. The price did not change and I was not charged a penny extra. 8 days later my belongings arrived. They unloaded the truck into each room. Everything looked in the same condition as they were before they left. I had a few minor scratches on a table but nothing worth worrying about. I have never had such an easy move. I was given exactly what I was told. The price was the same and I would definately recommend this company. My sister is using them next month.
