Moving Mass

Beware of this illegally operating mover.

Do NOT hire Moving Mass or Ron Mcgill out of Seattle to move your home. He is a scammer and operate illegally. Ron (owner of Mass Moving) is extremely unprofessional. The move was scheduled and confirmed several times prior to the move date yet Ron showed up over 2.5 hours late for my move, which caused me a great deal of hassle later in the day as I had to have a specific end time! He brought workers to assist in the move that were hired that morning (no background checks or paperwork on file for his employees). His attitude was very odd in the sense that he showed up frazzled, unfocused, sweating profusely and had very bad manners. He was not courteous, he and his staff were combative when making simple recommendations with my boxes (I simply asked them to put the heavier boxes on the bottom and the lighter on top for better stacking practices as to not warp my plastic lids). They refused to follow that simple request of which I made nicely and they did not wear any shoe covers when unloading in newly carpeted home. Much of these requests are standard practices by most movers. I had a sick feeling in my stomach the minute he walked into my home. Ron does NOT carry anything in his moving truck to assist in having a smooth move including NO dollies (takes twice or three times as long without), NO covers (for protecting furniture or prized items in your home), NO wrapping of any kind, NO tarp, NO ladder (could not reach attic to unload boxes), NO boxes, NO tape, NO paperwork, NO receipt, NO bill of lading, etc. Their solution for covering my mattresses and protecting my furniture, was to use my expensive odor-blocking Glad trash bags to cover my mattresses and bedroom set?? The entire box of trash bags would have had to be used for just one mattress at my cost! Nothing is provided but a rented Budget Truck (of which you could get yourself) and 2 shady-looking men that appear to have just got out of jail (sorry, but that is the only way to accurately describe their appearance). When asked if he had a UTC License, he refused to answer and went MIA until the question was not addressed until 9pm in the evening claiming he is operating illegally (I have his confession in a voicemail) and that he is "unable to complete my move.” Because of this, I have had to file several complaints with the AG Office and the Washington UTC. I paid cash for the services Ron provided, but he refused to refund me in a timely manner, stating "it will be a long while before I can get your money back to you” because he claims to be suffering financially. I offered him an efficient solution to send money via PayPal, but he skirted around that solution too, claiming he does not have access to a computer! One can use a computer for FREE at any Public Library. If he really wanted to refund me, he would have done so by now. I highly recommend you look elsewhere for moving services. The “price reduction” that Ron will try offer you is NOT worth the headaches involved. I found an awesome company that is a PROFESSIONAL moving company that is licensed, bonded and insured and guarantees their work in writing to move me at the same price that Ron/Movng Mass quoted.
