  1. Awful!!

Since I don't know which company is which or who is separate, I'm leaving reviews for ALL of them. Note: I've left Yelp reviews for Excalibur Moving and MAAG Enterprise, as well as My Chicago Moving.

They are TERRIBLE! Hire someone else! I ended up getting stuck with a broker who lied and said they were movers. They hired MAAG which is already hard to find online or on DOT or anywhere. The company that delivered my items were My Chicago Moving who said they were also MAAG Enterprises.. odd. One company, two names - or more? Who knows? MAAG wasn't the name that picked up, either (as in name on the shirts. I wish I would've written it down, but I didn't). They delivered my items in June, it's now January. I still do not have a resolution to my claim. I had a small move, my items arrived in terrible condition. Boxes were broken (like they were dropped multiple times), some pulled open, water damage to little wooden tray tables, damage to bookshelves (because they taped them), damage to my brand new mini freezer, and more. Additionally, they stole some of my items. I asked the movers about it, and they just shrug saying they got my stuff like that. Really? And you don't try to re-tape it or do a damn thing to protect your customer and their belongings. They tried to blame it on the trucks being inspected at stops. Yeah no, never heard of that or had it happen before in my multiple moves. Anyways, upon contacting them, they sent me to movingclaims.net. That was a trial! It is nearly impossible to get someone on the phone. You have to dig for a number, then go through an endless set of prompts that makes the DMV look simple. I literally went in circles with one choice after another to try to find a combination that got me a human. She was horrible, rude, and unhelpful. After a few months, they contact me back offering me $70! This doesn't even being to cover the damage nor compensate me for the additional $300 they wanted to charge me because they couldn't fit the truck in the parking lot here so they had to transfer to a uhaul instead. All in all, the actual worst move I've ever experienced! [Note that MAAG Enterprise is on my contract. The company that showed up said My Chicago Movers so who knows what name they may be utilizing now. Check DOT numbers, ask for prior names of the company].

  2. Do Not Use.

I moved from Minneapolis to NY. Upon arrival my 60" flat screen TV was missing. After making me wait 120 days while they "investigate" they offered me $5.94 based on the weight. I don't care about whatever disclaimers they may or may not have. A 60" TV doesn't just disappear, it was stolen, probably by one of their employees since no one else could have had access, and they can't even be bothered to attempt to do the right thing.

  3. Unethical, Dishonest and Fraudulent.

I am currently representing a client who hired My Chicago Moving to move his belongings. The facts- My Chicago Moving was paid in full. They not only did not deliver the boxes to the paid for and intended location, they actually placed my client's belongings in a storage unit in a DIFFERENT city than the intended delivery location. Several months later, my client had to pay for and arrange for another company to complete the task. My Chicago Moving agreed to reimburse my client for their breach of contract. That was over a month ago. They will not return phone calls, emails or correspondence. This is a predatory company that relies on the good faith of unsuspecting clients.

  4. Price jump, delayed delivery, no one answers phone.

If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a U-Haul and moved everything myself. Truly.
    1. Quoted $2200. They based it on volume (not weight). When the movers came, they loaded about 2/3rds of my stuff, then told me that it would cost an additional $1,000. Or they could leave the rest of it there. No real choice here, as people who move usually have to get out of their current home.
    2. Verbally promised delivery in 3 - 4 days. Contract said 7 BUSINESS days (that's actually 11 days, in my case). They missed that deadline, and initially, only offered $15/day in late delivery.
    3. Delivery scheduled twice where no one showed up. No phone calls. And no one answered the phone at the office or returned my messages.
    4. The lack of communication, as the time stretched on, started to really freak me out. I kept leaving messages (and at various phone numbers) begging someone to call me back and tell me where my belonging were located. No. One. Will. Ever. Call. You. Back. I was panicking, as a lawyer-friend of mine suggested that my belongings were actually stolen.
    5. The truck was overpacked, as they put 3 households into 1 truck. As such, I had damage to my belongings.

    Pluses:
    1. I did get my belongings, eventually. Except for that 1 box of wine glasses, which never showed.
    2. The actual movers (delivery guys) were pretty nice. Respectful. And protective of my belongings.

    Still out there:
    1. I have asked for compensation for the delay and for the damage to my belongings. I've not heard back yet.

  5. Do Not Use.

The company was called My Chicago Moving but all of the movers worked for Olympia Moving Company so I guess they are subcontracted. We went with this company because they absolutely guaranteed our furniture to be delivered by July 28th. The men showed up one day late to pack up the house. They loaded all of our belongings onto two small trucks. Then they unloaded the truck at their warehouse and reloaded our belongings into a storage container. Instead of driving our stuff right away they kept giving us the runaround about broken trucks and drivers who quit. As a result, one week later, they unloaded our belongings again and reloaded them onto one large truck. Our furniture was delivered one week after it should have been and as you can imagine, from all the movement, many items were broken in the process. When I called about the broken items I was told they use a third party to handle those claims and sent me an email link. No help at all. Moving forward I would rather find a company who does a good job and actually cares and I would pay additional money for good service.

  6. Incompetent.

These people are more than incompetent - They moved us the end of June 2016, and our stuff arrived in early August with thousands of dollars of damage - boxes smashed trashed. Their insurance carrier offered us $60 - for approximately $20,000.00 in damage -.
