  1. They promise the moon.

I had a horrible experience with this company & felt it important to share this with other prospective customers so that they don't put themselves in the uncompromising position that I found myself in.  I did extensive research of movers & chose O'Neill for my long-distance move b/c their prices were significantly lower than their competitors.  I had several "touching bases" conversations with Bradley Boland from the time I signed the contract, up to just prior to the date of scheduled pick up  I was given the same information each time regarding transit time & date of delivery.  One week prior to the scheduled pick up date I was informed that the delivery after pick up was going to be AN ADDITIONAL THIRTY DAYS later than originally promised!  Needless to say I was quite upset.  I quicklly started looking for another moving company, did find one that seemed honest, but frankly after the traumatic experience I had just undergone did not feel that I wanted to put myself at the mercy of another mover.  In the end I moved myself with a U-haul, which, after the initial logistics scrambling, turned out to be a good experience.  In fact, I highly recommend that route - you can load at your leisure, & know that your things will arrive when you do.  You also will not have to worry about your things being damaged or lost.  Also, moving myself with a U-Haul saved me over 30% of the cost of the move.  If you cannot DIY with a U-Haul & must have a mover, be sure you research companies very well.  And, stay away from O'Neill.
