  1. Worst ever huge scam

Tore all the legs off of every table I own. Never put them back together and just left all of my furniture in shambles in new place. Told me it was my fault for them not having a bigger truck so they left more than half my items behind. I’m 78 yrs old and very ill. I counted on them helping me. Left tons of garbage in the driveway. For three thousand dollars for a local move I expect way more. I’m going to Crimea against seniors if I do not get a call and compensated for this horrible service. DO NOT USE THESE CROOKS. They sent only one man and he did not set anything up and literally called my new place a horrible dump very rude and did not put anything together for me. Oh did I mention I was quailed differently?

  2. HORRIBLE COMPANY

Suppose I could rate a lower than a one star I would. Would you please do your research before choosing this company? The movers packed and took things I did not want them to take, which I got only half of them back. I paid over $5k. I immediately reached out to the driver to advise of my missing boxes and was told we delivered what was on the truck. Please keep looking, or you will regret it.

  3. Worst Experience EVER.

Took over two days just to get a delivery ETA. Why? Because they kept saying they were coming, then canceling. The guys and the organizer - Mike. Were chauvinistic, condescending, jerks. Fine. You can be that way to me - but to my 71yr old Mother??? Nope. I will forever tell people (near and far) never to use them. THE ABSOLUTE WORST!

  4. Worst moving experience ever-DO NOT uses this company

I first got a quote from a company called American Standard moving-and storage Who took my down payment, quoted me lower and then subcontracted me to a company based in Florida for my long distance move from Florida to Colorado. Tried calling this company to talk to someone about Ocean company and Jason Fraser couldn’t even give me the courtesy to call me back(left several messages) don’t use them either! Had I known they weregoing to do that I would’ve done a review on this aweful company...ocean moving and storage. The office(Sherry)was rude as well as the drivers. Didn’t explain up front that the truck that we watched get loaded was going down to Miami to be loaded into another truck. Took longer but when we finally heard from the driver he told me the time of delivery then they changed it several times. My son works and he was expecting the truck between 5 and 7pm then they changed to 3 then they called at 8 am saying they were 20 minutes out. They then delivered things that weren’t ours and we ended up missing a Kirby vacuum cleaner not sure if someone else got it or they kept it. Thennnn they wanted to charge an additional 300 for a weight on the truck in the residential area where my son lives. Thank goodness my Son is a smart young man he challenged the driver and drove to where the truck was. There was no weight restriction at all! I paid way too much for this move using this company...way over priced especially due to The unprofessional office workers down to the drivers. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I rate them 0!

  5. Ocean Moving and Storage - DO NOT USE THEM.

I've moved a lot over the years and have used many different moving companies. Ocean Moving and Storage is by far the worst moving company I've ever used. I won't to into detail but what should have been a simple move from Kansas City, MO to Minneapolis, MN was a nightmare. Just stay away from this company. I'd give them zero stars if I could.

  6. Worst moving experience ever!

I am visually impaired and therefore have no choice but to use a moving company. At every point of the transaction was lied to. First estimate was $1900.00 given the date I needed my possessions they gave me a pick up date. Took 3 weeks before they arrived and would have been longer if I had not mentioned the state closing soon for the CORVID outbreak. TV was scratched all up. Desk broken and unfixable (welding is not my thing). Several other items damaged and a missing bag of clothing. During the process I contacted the origination company (Connected Van Lines) and Ocean Moving and Storage moving company. On each contact they raised the price even when I removed several large items to reduce the price they increased it. When all was said and done what was loaded was half of the size and more than double the price 4,700.00 for a single bedroom apartment move. Once they have your stuff you are screwed and they will increase the cost even though they aren't really allowed but if you want your stuff what other option do you have especially with a nationwide lockdown. Spoke to several managers and supervisors which most cases were different. Sent many emails and saved them. Recommended for anyone that likes being screwed over or scammed heavily.

  7. Worst moving company.

These guys truly do not care about their customers. Upon arrival to Atlanta (moved from Florida) my boxes were thrown out of the moving truck, smashed and broken. And I mean they threw my boxes. Let me be clear. These boxes had my mothers antiques in them, I’m 29 years old and she just committed suicide, I was given her belongings. This stuff meant more to me then anything else. A lot of it was broken. It’s been 4 months since my move and many emails and phone calls later, they still will not compensate me for all the damages. They keep giving me the run around or no answers at all. I’ve sent photos of all my broken belongings, of which can never be replaced.

I spoke with the company prior to them even moving my belongings and mom’s antiques, told them how concerned I was and that maybe I should try to move the antiques myself. They insisted that everything would be fine and delivered with care as long as those boxes were marked fragile (which I tapped fragile and wrote all over these boxes). I kid you not when they pulled up to my apartment they threw my fragile boxes from the truck (these boxes were already smashed) I was just standing their jaw dropped after telling them to please not handle them that way.

Extremely disrespectful - avoid this company at all costs. You have been warned. I feel like I’ve been robbed.

  8. Worst Service Ever!!

This company was terrible after the initial quote. Didn’t show up when scheduled. Rude pickup people. They tried to tell me what I was quoted and agreed upon was only an estimate. Tried to charge me $240 more than the agreed upon price. I refused. They picked up the freight. I did ALL of the paperwork. Delivery driver was rude and obnoxious! He wanted cash for the delivery balance, not a cashier’s check I was told to have. I refused to give him cash. DO NOT USE these people!!

  9. Don't trust this company!

I hired Cross Country Movers to move me across the country and they brokered my move out to Ocean.

Ocean added hundreds of dollars onto the move. Charged me for 'long walk' loading which was a lie (I measured and it wasn't even close to meeting their 'long walk' distance).

Not only were things broken, which isn't surprising as I saw a clearly marked window unit air conditioner sitting on top of a box marked 'fragile' which had red duck tape wrapped around it from all angles, I am missing things like a ladder and a huge box with all of my electronics in it including stereo, Wii game, other video games, small appliances and my sewing machine. That box is the size of a small wardrobe box and could not be 'missed'. In my opinion that was flat out stolen. Now I have to deal with an insurance company that is going to give me pennies on the dollar for what is missing / damaged.

ALL of my furniture has damage to some part of it even though it was all wrapped. They applied packing tape directly to furniture which ripped off the paint when removed. One piece is broken in half and not repairable.

My moving cost estimate of $4,600 ballooned to over $6,000 and when I complained to both companies I was told that 'in the big picture, a few extra hundred dollars on both sides of the move is not a big deal". Well it is when it took every penny I had to move! And of course I wasn't told of this extra charge until AFTER they had my stuff loaded and on it's way. So either I paid the extra or they kept my stuff!

They also act like it's none of your business where your stuff is when in transit or when it will show up. When I hired them I was told I could check on where the truck was to get an idea of delivery day. Over the 9 days it took them to show up I called to check on the truck 3 times. First time they claimed they couldn't reach the driver. Second time they said he was 'on the coast'. Third time he was in the 'mountains'. The driver called me 12 hours before showing up with my stuff.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE LIARS AND THIEVES! DO NOT TRUST ANY COMPANY THAT WORKS WITH OCEAN EITHER!

  10. Steer Clear, 0 Stars.

This company was brokered out to me by PeaPack and Moving (I placed a separate 0 star rating for them here too). I paid for an early bird pickup at 6 am, and then they didn't arrive til 10am that day, which caused endless complications for my following 14 hours drive to my new place. They completely neglected one box that had red FRAGILE stickers ALL over it and broke everything inside. Looked like the box was kicked at full power it was so awful. They broke MANY of my things and took an entire month to deliver my stuff. Not ONE person from this company (nor PeaPack) told me it could take 3-4 weeks until the truck was completely packed and I was handed the paperwork to sign, and I read it myself in the paperwork. I was only told by one person at PeaPack that it would take 4 DAYS. So I had 6 days of belongings that I brought with me in my car. I don't even know how much money I had to spend to re-buy stuff I already had while I waited a month for everything to come. The claims department is completely impossible to get through with all of the tiny things you have to abide by and provide in order for them to reimburse you anything. Of course it's that difficult on purpose so that people don't finish submitting their claims. Sheri was the customer service lady and she was very rude and unprofessional to me, even when I was being patient and kind.

  11. A Scam - Beware!

This company is a SCAM! They don't even deserve 1 star. I booked through a company called Cross Country Movers and the day before my pick up day I learned that the job was subcontracted to this company. Deposit was already paid and I had no choice but to proceed. I was quoted $1400 with Cross Country Movers for 1 bedroom worth of stuff. They showed up with a small truck that didn't have half the room I needed for all of my things. Once they loaded my stuff they told me the quote went up to $2400 since I needed more cubic ft. Well of course I did since you didn't have enough to begin with.

It gets worse at Drop Off. I had to hound them for a drop off ETA which ended up being 5 days after the original delivery date. The driver calls me the night before and tells me he can't pull an 18 wheeler in an apartment complex. This company knew that wouldn't be possible when I booked the job but failed to communicate that at signing and embedded this rate in some fine print. They made me pay an ADDITIONAL $450 to get my stuff transferred to a shuttle to be delivered. This move was a NIGHTMARE. You're better off moving your stuff yourself. Sheri in customer service WAS NO HELP & A COMPLETE A**HOLE.

Save your money & AVOID CROSS COUNTRY MOVERS & OCEAN MOVERS AT ALL COSTS OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!

  12. Stole money and broken items. They never respond.

They are a rip off company. They sent me a final bill that looked like $2839 remaining so I gave them a bank check for the amount it was actually 2339 so they wrote on the final bill that they owed me 500.00 dollars. I have called them which always is sent to the voice mail. At least 10 times with no response, same with text messages and their web site. They also destroyed an end table and my color laser printer. They never call you back. I have called the Better Business Bureau and registered a complaint. I have a complaint against them with the Federal Government. These people are ripping people off. Do not use then, you'll be sorry.

  13. Horrible experienc.

The worst company I have ever worked with. Very unprofessional. They kept no promises. supposed to store my goods in Maryland, they were stored in Missouri. the company who delivered was terrible. May broken furniture items, they disrespected our goods. We are retired and they moved our entire life, The movers did not care. Many broken items. They claim to be professional, but they are rank amateurs in my opinion. too expensive and I would not recommend them to anyone.

  14. Winning award for worst possible move.

Contracted with First United for an interstate move on memorial day. Without saying anything to us, they subcontracted it to Ocean Moving and we never heard from them again. Their subcontractor Ocean Moving showed up on moving day, loaded the truck, then told us our 900 square foot apartment was over 120 boxes (I hadn't even bought that many boxes?) and demanded another $1000 and refused to take anything back off the truck or let us count the boxes ourselves to prove them wrong. They proceeded to either destroy or lose thousands of dollars worth of our stuff. They ripped the legs off of our Casper adjustable bed rather than unscrew them, which destroyed it. They ripped a keyboard stand apart rather than take out the screws. They mangled our laundry sorter and then threw it behind the fence on the side of our house. They cracked the mirror on my mirror-front vanity. Not a single one of our table lamps made it to the house. They're just gone. Only three of our four kitchen chairs showed up. Our kitchen table never made it here. This is just a very, very small amount of the things that were destroyed or missing by these people. The best part is the "so called" claims process where you spend two full 8 hour days painstakingly listing your mangled and missing items, their estimated value, serial numbers, model numbers, weight, dimensions, purchase date, etc, just to have their system "error" and you do the whole thing over again. When you finally get it submitted they email you every few weeks with an "its processing.." message and a dead link to "check your claim status." After that.. who knows? It's been since memorial day and we still only have destroyed furniture, dead links, and a "pending claim" to show for this cluster. And don't try to call First United. They will never ever call or email you once they've unleashed their subcontractors on your house and Ocean Moving disappears into the night never to be seen or heard from again.

  15. Maine to Michigan.

    Just Facts-
I gave Ocean Moving and Storage 107 boxes on 1-15-19.
They delivered to me 98 boxes on 1-31-19.
2 of the boxes were opened and half empty.
They lost 10% of everything own.
Ocean Moving and Storage has a case against them by the Florida Attorney General.
