  1. Move.

I contacted the Olympia Moving & Storage Inc. for moving my furniture to the local storage area. First, I want to say that they were very friendly and cooperative in being available for my move the next day. They went out of their way to make this move smooth as possible.

I cannot say enough about the company that was willing to go out of their way to accommodate my move in less than 24 hours.

If you need to move 2 rooms of furniture and other items, I highly recommend Olympia Moving & Storage Inc.

    George Haas.

  2. Schaumburg move.

I was satisfied with initial customer service agent. The movers arrived promptly and were very courteous, dedicated and hard-working. It was a stress-free experience. I recommend Olympia Moving.

  3. Best experience.

They were very professional. They took care of my items as they were their own. Highly recommend them.

  4. Moving help.

I had a customer that needed some heavy objects moved. called olympia and they were there next morning and got the job done. thanks.

  5. Great to work with!

I was recommended to utilize Olympia by friends. I was moving from the city to suburbs and had minimal items but hard to do myself. They treated me just as a huge cross country move would be with professional, courteous and prompt service. The onsite crew was great as well - very friendly and careful not to harm my items in transport. They got done quicker than expected so clearly are not out to gouge the customer. I would recommend them to friends as well as utilize for my next move.

  6. Not as bad as some reviews say.

Jay and the other driver moved several items from one house to another. They called to confirm, they arrived on time, they were courteous and professional. There were some heavy items but they used the straps and was able to carry everything.

They delivered the items on time and placed exactly where requested, set up and left for another job.

I had no issues with the movers, the company or service.

If you expect hand holding, this is not the company for you. If you want a fair price to move stuff, then this is this company to use.

  7. These guys know what they're doing.

This is my second time using Olympia, I couldn't imagine using any other mover. Moving sucks, they made it a great experience. Everyone of their guys was professional, friendly and early. They were thorough and treated every item like it was there own. They work nonstop and truly put in a hard days work so you don't have to. They took thorough inventory on the pick up, put a sticker on everything. When they brought everything back, nothing was missing and nothing was damaged. WIN WIN!! I have the utmost confidence in their movers and their back office team is great and thorough. Thanks for restoring my faith in movers!

  8. Sensational Movers!

Olympia movers are professional and reliable. In addition, both their customer service and moving process were smooth. It was my first time utilizing a moving company so I had many questions initially, but given their responsiveness and guidance, it made for an overall great experience.

  9. Local move.

Olympia Moving did an outstanding job moving my son and his roommate from one apartment to another in Evanston. They were very professional and efficient. They also confirmed move and were very accommodating of some last minute changes. I will absolutely use them again!

  10. My Great Move!

Thank you Olympia Moving & Storage, Inc.

I had a wonderful move experience. They were quick to act and responded to all questions. Speaking to the representative, he had created a tentative move plan with a quote emailed to me right away. Busy Labor Day weekend they handled everything quickly and effortlessly. Even when the original coordinator was unavailable. Nothing was missed. I have high praises. Thank you so much in helping me move.

  11. Terrible Moving Company.

We hired Olympia to move one 3-bedroom home to another in the West burbs. Seemed simple, but turned into an absolute nightmare. Hands down the worse company we ever dealt with in our lives. Not just moving company--any company, period!

To start, we requested someone come out to assess the move, but were told it was not necessary. Olympia could provide an estimate from experience. We said, we have a lot of stuff, best to have someone come out. No, not necessary.

To prepare for the move, we placed all boxes in the garage on separate tarps for separate rooms. We wanted each room loaded and unloaded separately. We moved all furniture to the hallway by the front door. We also have a gym, so we disassembled everything to make that move easier as well.

On move day, an undersized truck arrived with a foreman and 3-man team.  We sensed trouble, as all of our items would not fit into this truck. The crew looked around, and immediately, said, "you have a lot of stuff.  We can't move all these things in one truck. We need to get another truck." We thought great. We have not slept in days, and now this trouble-fine. The foreman called his office, who dispatched another truck.

In the meantime, while we dealt with the foreman, the team was in the garage loading boxes. They tossed everything into the truck haphazardly, and not according to room, as requested. The truck was loaded quickly, since everything was already staged by us for loading, and one of us, hubby, went with that team, while the other, wifey, stayed behind to wait for the 2nd truck.

At the new home, the workers raced in an out quickly and asked where does this go, and threw things around. They were instructed to put the headboard from the bed on the bedroom wall, the boxspring and mattress against that, and the frame then on top so that at least we could get the bed put together for the night. Instead, they placed everything on separate walls, put heavy furniture in front of that, and then boxes on top of the furniture.

Meanwhile the 2nd truck arrived at the old house, and the 2 movers said the remaining items were too heavy. Finally, they did take the gym, but they dropped several boxes, and broke many items. Once loaded, they left, while the original team returned to the old home. Hubby stayed behind at the new home to wait for the 2nd truck. Once the original truck and movers arrived at the old house, trouble started.

Wifey did not disclose to hubby until the next day, but the foreman kept making passes at her. She warned him to back off, but he got angry, picked her up and kept trying to kiss her. She was able to escape, but really!

Now, back at the new house, the 2nd truck arrived to meet hubby. The movers repeated the items were too heavy, so they put everything in the garage. Hubby subsequently moved all of these items into the house alone, as well as every box and furnishing that the movers simply tossed haphazardly all over the place. These movers left, and hubby waited for the original truck's return.

It took longer than expected, but once they arrived, hubby told them to unload everything. He was upset at the amount of time involved and that everyone seemed to have difficulty lifting many items. He did not know of wifey's ordeal yet. Once the truck was unloaded, the foreman said he would take his driver and return to the house to finish the move. He told hubby to stay behind and direct the movers where to put items.

Unknown to hubby at this time, the foreman was texting wifey relentlessly, saying he had to be with her, and that he was on his way back to the house, kissy, kissy. Hubby sensed something was wrong, so he drove back to the house in front of the truck. Once there, the truck was loaded, but the team said they could not take several items as they were working off the clock, so insurance was not in place. Due to the fact that several items remained, hubby made 20 subsequent trips in his car, over the next 3 days.

Once the dust settled from the move, we noticed almost every piece of furniture was broken, chipped or scratched. The movers did not use moving blankets, only shrink wrapped items with no other protection.  Also, many walls in our new home got scratched or dented by the movers, and the entire home had just been freshly painted. Afterwards, we complained to Olympia. They refunded $250 and said the foreman was dealt with. They instructed us to put together a list of all damages and send that to them for compensation.

We followed that direction, only to be told, no, you have to file a claim with our 3rd party insurer, CSI. We complied, to include pictures, weights and descriptions of all damages--over $10,000.  After 2  1/2 months, CSI emailed and denied compensation. Their reason: "We cannot assess weight by pictures." We reached out to Olympia repeatedly. They will not respond, which speaks volumes. Bottom line, the worst company we ever dealt with. Stay away from them. The Prince of Darkness of moving companies.

  12. Added Cost at time of move.

Despite a very accurate inventory of everything being moved w accompanied pictures , be prepared to be whacked by moving foreman at time of move.
Company should be called bait and switch.
Everything need "added" packing or they make you sign a waiver of damages. Basically, legalized extortion.
Called agent 3 separate times and the answer is "take it or leave it".
Needless to say , I will not be recommending this company to anyone in our corporate office.
    SMH.

  13. Terrible service.

We moved from Indiana to Vegas only to have half our stuff damaged or completely broke. We filed a claim and it was denied. They lied to us at delivery so now we are out a few thousand dollars worth of our personal stuff. Will never use them to move again. We had our stuff delivered to storage as we did not have a house yet. We were told numerous times that we could wait until we unpack to check our stuff. We could tell on delivery that most boxes were damaged very badly. We will be getting a lawyer and going after them. I would much rather pay a lawyer than lose money to them. It's just sad that lack of choosing to do the right thing nowadays. All about technicalities I guess.

  14. Add on costs.

Was quoted $2083.12.  Total cost $2645.12.  When furniture picked up told there was a mandatory 15% tip ($312) to be paid.  I probably would have tipped but not that much-they were paid for flights of stairs and for increments of 75 feet that they had to travel-included in original price. When delivery was made was told they could not get truck into apartment complex.  Had to pay and additional $250 so they could get rental truck, unload , reload onto rental and then deliver and unload. Compex manager told us they have movers in complex on a regular basis.  Driver did not ask nor did he want to know how others got truck in.  Was told by complex manager that backing up truck was involved.  When talking to main office about this reaction was oh well that's the way it is.  Beware of this company this all seems like a scam.  Would not use again nor would I recommend to others. Did not appreciate hidden/add on costs.
