I gave him a detailed list of items that needed to be moved and included dimensions and photos of all the items that I needed to be moved from OH to AZ. He took a day to calculate the total moving cost $2694.00. On the day of the move, the movers handed me the phone and his boss Allen and he told me that they under calculated the cost and that it would be an additional $2000 to complete the move!! The actual movers were very professional and great but stated that this is a regular practice that happens when brokers price the jobs. This company is very unethical in their practices putting customers on the spot without other options and charging double what I was quoted. I would NOT use this company for your move! I will complete another review once my items have been delivered to see the quality of their price gouging practices. The other disturbing issue with this company and management like Allen, is they don't pay their workers any more for the increase in charges! In my case an increase of $2000 in charges, my two movers still make the same flat daily fee of $150 per day.
Horrible Customer Experience.
I've completed countless cross-state and cross- country moves over the last 10 years and I can very confidently and honestly say that this has, by far, been my worst experience with a moving company.
The company found me once I entered my information into one of the "get moving quotes" websites. Based on my initial research and discussions, they seemed like the most reasonably priced option that would provide the level of service desired. Plus I figured I'd support a smaller business.
The initial stages were great, working with the price estimator to develop a complete inventory list and estimate the total costs. No issues there.
The issues started when the movers showed up 2 hours after the 3 hour agreed upon window. When I called the office and spoke with a supervisor, he gave me a few excuses, each of which could have been easily controlled with proper leadership. This being on top of an initial delay where 3 days earlier, they asked me to reschedule my pickup to be a day after my initial pickup window. I wasn't too worried since my day and week were pretty flexible.
Issue #2 is their pricing. My final price came out 20 percent higher than our final estimate. The same supervisor as above said 20 percent over the estimate is normal. I challenged him on why they wouldn't give a fair estimate up front and, again, he danced around the actual response. The problem was not the size of my items because I physically measured every piece. The problem was that their estimate does not account for what they can and cannot stack, and they don't tell you that either. I'm sure it's intentional so that they can under bid the other moving companies, which screams unethical.
The third issue was on the delivery end.. they completely forgot my queen size mattress and box spring! How does that even happen? My pregnant wife and I had nothing but an air mattress at this point until they got the mattress to me 5 days later. Earlier in the moving process, the same supervisor as above said that they were so great because of their process for labeling and scanning every item so that they never lost anything.. well so much for that. Now I'm still trying to remove stickers from furniture that they placed a sticker on.. And I won't even mention the irreparable damages to at least 4 pieces of furniture, which are all now unable to be used. Their silly $0.60 per pound per item insurance is a joke.
The fourth issue is that since they use 3rd party drivers, the delivery driver could not accept the post office money order since I wrote preferred moving on it. A nice heads up from preferred would have been great.
Overall, I worked with a few very nice people at Preferred Moving but unfortunately their processes seem horrific from an outsider's perspective. Plenty of room for improvement and I will definitely not recommend anyone that I care about to use them until they fix their processes.

Preferred moving?!.Absolutely horrible experience and company!! Was promised so many things from MARK at the time of booking . Pick up date was charged $576 extra with out not contract. I paid extra money $2000 cash delivery for the driver in order to delivered my furniture on time. I was very disappointed!! when I called to find out where my furniture was. items were broken upon delivery, ”I was sent a email to the company to collected my refund! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! You will regret it!! Horrible experience. Cost me $4890.
Best Moving Company.
Moving is one of the most difficult tasks that all of us have to face once in a while. All you need to do in order to avoid the accompanying stress is to get a capable and honest moving company like Preferred Moving Company for our moving exercise. They did an excellent job when they moved me recently.
Classical Movers.
The packers came and worked very hard and fast too. They wrapped, packed and loaded everything in 5 hours! We were impressed that the driver called us to explain his plan and timing. This was better service than we ever had before! We strongly recommend Preferred Moving Company.

Wow, Mark was absolutely fantastic. He was professional from start to finnish. He gave me a competitive price while making sure to give amazing service. THe formen Dave and his crew were fast and efficient. They Packed all my belongings in less that 6 hours and were out the door. You should see the way they packed I was impressed. Delivery took 4 days and the guys were nice and they set up my bed and put the furniture in the rooms that I wanted them. Definitely a professional moving company. I highly recommend Preferred moving company to anyone looking to move long distance.

Let me just say my experience with preferred moving company was absolutely amazing. Mitch took a lot of time going into the details of my move why the other company's didn't seem to care. Preferred is a great long distance moving compnay. The did a full packing job for me and gave us white glove service. The moving estimate was accurate and they got my items to my home rarely fast. I am very happy with the service they provided me. I personally will recommend talking to Mitch if you are moving long distance.
