Dishonest Fees.
During my initial first call with the owner Darnell I was informed that the cost would be $185 for the first 2 hours and then $65/hr after. I was told there would be no extra/hidden fees. My move was a total of 3 hours because I had done most of the work myself. Broke down my table and bed and had all of the boxes ready for pickup. I was not told that they start the hour rate at the tow yard. It doesn't make sense for me to pay for the drivers to drive to my home. I'm paying for you to move my furniture not for driving. This company was very unprofessional, condescending and rude. When we arrived at my home in Wayne they wouldn't unload anything until I paid the total. One of the movers had to call the owner to get my total. My total ballooned to 383.23. I was taken back by this. But of course I had to pay because they wouldn't unload anything. I asked to speak with the owner on the phone and he spoke to me in a very condescending tone. Telling me I'm confusing myself. Asking me to do the match. I gave a $50 deposit in cash before the truck left my apartment. I asked him why would you start the hourly rate at the tow yard and not when you arrive at the house. He said he sent an email explaining this. I never received an email. He discounted the additional insurance and taxes which were never told me in the beginning. To this day I still think this company is dishonest about fees and they're will try to get extra money out of you and will not unload your items until you pay. That's ridiculous. I'm warning everyone to never use this company. EVER. I spent over a $100 more than I should have and that was basically gas money which I was told not a fee.
They sent DRUNK MOVERS to my House!!
I called this company and the owner bragged about how professional his staff is. Well..he sent two professional drunks to my home. I immediately called the company and he said he was bringing a new crew personally. As you probably guessed, he never showed. He then had a secretary call to offer me a discount for the following day, he was supposed to call to confirm and he didn't. I called hours later to find out from the secretary that the "discount" was too low and had been pulled. This company is a TOTAL JOKE!! STAY AWAY!!
They Will Rob You. Need to Read.
The owner is a liar.He quoted me $750 for my move.Ended up being $1350. Not what I was expecting. Darnell's crew messed up my floors , freshly painted walls, furniture and my sleep number mattresses.They have blown me off and told me to hire an attorney. This company is a total scam. BUYERS BEWARE THEY WILL ROB YOUR POCKETS AND NOT DO WHAT THEY SAY. STAY FAR AWAY FROM DARNELL AND HIS D- COMPANY.

I have moved many times in my lifetime, but never had a company be so deceitful, unprofessional and full of lies. Please do not use this company no matter what they say on the phone. On moving day they broke my dining table and tried to put back together. Even though I purchased insurance (which obviously they just kept money) and tried to place a claim, they continued to blow me off..promising to get back with me and switching me to others (Darnell would say call Marie..Marie would act oblivious to everything). My husband even went to their place of business to reason with Darnell about a month ago..he said do whatever you want as we are going out of business..well today I called number and that was a lie..they of course hung up on me. I actually had another job for them (someone relocating) and was going to ask Darnell to settle with me..unfortunately, they still want to play games and be unprofessional. STAY AWAY..BAD NEWS!!
Company is a ripoff.
Most of these other reviews are accurate. The owner or sales rep whomever the guy is that sounds very professional when he answers the phone is a con artist. He will give you a great quote over the phone. I asked him more than twice, are there any hidden fees, he assured me there would not be any hidden fees, he lied. The movers showed up with a contract for me to sign which was almost double the original price. I refused to sign and I called the owner to tell him I was cancelling, after threatening him with that he then honored the original price, please go elsewhere do not use this company. The actual movers were great and professional but the company is another story.$25 extra per tv, $15 for shrink wrap, the cost of the time on the job starts when they leave their companies parking lot and don't end until they make it back to their lot after moving you. WHAT?? All of this on type of the quoted price.
Do not use!! Worse company ever.
Short version: Darnell the "owner" will charm you with his initial quote and customer service orientated/eager to please personality. Day of service sent a cripple and half blind guy upon arrival at new home attempted to extort money b4 unloading they pulled off with my things and police had to be called and nice Darnell turns into rude bilgerant Darnell. After being extorted for $500 they took my money and left my things on the curb. Did not even bring it in the house. Please do not use this company you will regret it!
Lies.
When speaking on the phone, I thought I was given a deal. I had referred a bunch of people to them just based off the phone conversation( I have called and have told every one to cancel their service with them) . But I just moved 2 days ago and the experience was horrible. the two movers was bad people I didn't feel uncomfortable or anything they were just extra slow, and one of the guys look like he couldn't get around to good he was limping and I think smelled alcohol on him. I explained to him that one of the boxes he had, had glass in it because of the was he was handling it. He respond I know I got it. At the end of the move there was so many hidden fees, they charge me extra to move my tv they didn't do anything special when moving them, so I was confused about the extra charge. I had spoke to a lady(rep) the night before and she asked me what would be move she said she was just asking so they could know what size truck to have they wont be any extra charge. I was change an extra $20 for 50" tv and $10 for 40" . When on the phone with the owner I was told everything was included. But at the end I had almost $120.00 of extra fees added in. Do not use them and please tell everyone don't give them any business.

This company stole my $50 and cancelled the job the night before. Never paid the deposit back after repeated contacts.

Don’t use this moving company. The movers are super-slow because they’re being paid by the hour and they will break your stuff and damage things in your home.
The owner was really nice before my move day although he seemed a bit unorganized. I shrugged it off because I though he was giving me a deal. but every time I sent him information about my move in an email (like the itemized list of my belongings and my correct address) when I called him, he could never find it. It was always, “let me go back to my other office.” Is this company so big that they have more than one office? I doubt it.
So he gives me an estimate based on my itemized list, which I suspected was way, way lower than it should have been. Why would I need an estimate when they’re charging by the other if not to low-ball the cost of the move which, by the way, ended up costing more than $100 more than the estimate
So on the day of my move, the movers show up and stop at they house 2 doors down and across the street from mine — they still didn’t have my correct address.
They asked me to sign a bunch of paperwork and on it I noticed that the price that was quoted to me was not the price on the contract. After trying multiple times to get ahold of the owner, one of the movers finally was contact able to him. He told me he would honor the special price he’d quoted me, but he didn’t. And having extra-slow movers (one of which drove extra-slow as well) guaranteed my move would not come in anywhere near the estimate. They quoted me $280. I ended up paying $402.
I won’t go much longer, but these people (owner, movers — all) are dishonest. You will not get the “deal” he tells you you’ll get. DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE! And don’t believe the other reviews on Yelp about how great this company is. They were probably written by relatives.
Beware Rip Off!
This company rips people off. Do not use them at all. Very misleading of the deals they give. They quote you a low rate but then leave out the details of a three hour minimum. Oh and apparently the hourly rates starts when they leave the truck yard instead of when they reach your house. But no one informs you of this. Just avoid them and use a more reputable moving company.
Beware.
The move took approximately 4 hours and $160 more than was estimated. When I asked the manager why he responded that he has been doing this for 20 years and no estimate of time has been spot on.. Ok, I get that, but 3+ hours off, that's a 20 years of experience guess I couldn't afford! Beware of fee's they don't mention such as insurance and the time starts when they leave their business not when they get to your address. Costs that add up that we inexperienced aren't aware of.
Thanks for robbing me Rapid! Never again will I do business here.
