  1. Do Not Use This Company.

They talk the talk but don't walk the walk. Please read small print on your contract. They will tell you a 5 to 14 day guarantee of furniture arrival. This is NOT the case. Once you give them the down payment it is very hard to find out any answers after that. They will give you the run around and nobody know anything. You just can't get an answer to anything and I mean anything. I have been working with Russell (sales person) Jim (logistic person). They have made this move a nightmare. Still no furniture arrival but will update this review when and if furniture arrives and will update condition of furniture. P.S. they have lost my cross boarder papers. Do not use this company. Please read yelp reviews also.

  2. Very Good Moving Service.

Hi I moved my family to Florida from Ontario in February. I searched on the internet and got a hold of this company. The salesman was very helpful and I went ahead a booked out move. We didn't have much money so we had to look for the best rate so I was a little worriedThe movers called ahead and let me know they would be on time. They arrived at 10:00am as promised and picked up our stuff. We had it all packed and ready Rob and Cal were very polite and courteous. There were no serious problems.I got a call from Tina two days later and she said our shipping weight was about 1000 lbs less that estimated so she reduced the invoice we were so happy! I paid the final bill by Credit Card. My primary contact Jim kept in touch and handled the many many questions I had. Ten days later my goods  arrived in Oceola and the team unloaded  our stuff into the house. It was hot and the sweated through it and did a great job. Once our goods were unloaded I noticed my coffee tables were damaged. I called Jim to let him know. Later that week a repairman came by and was able to fix the table.Jim found us a good rate and made our move to Florida much easier that we expected. I  recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a mover at a reasonable price. .

  3. Deception and fraud.

We contracted with Relocation Services Global (RSG) for our move from the San Diego, CA are to the Toronto, Canada area.  Jim Dixon was our contact at RSG.

RSG has a website that professes that they are the largest international moving service, and among other things says – “We offer single-source contact throughout your move, personally attending to all your needs. Your personal move coordinator will be with you at every step along the way, 24/7.”

Shortly after paying our ‘deposit’ to RSG, we got a call from Ken Conley, General Manager of AMS Transportation, Inc (AMS)., a company we had never heard of.  They said they would be handling our move.  Jim Dixon never mentioned AMS before we paid him, though it became clear that he was touting their bid from the very start.  We looked up AMS and became very concerned when we read some of the reviews.  Jim said they did ‘thousands of moves a year’, that RSG stood behind them, and that he would personally ‘keep a careful eye on them.’  BELIEVE THOSE REVIEWS.

Immediately after the goods were loaded and the Bill of Lading, clearly marked COD by the driver, was signed, we were asked by the driver’s wife for an imprint of our credit card ‘for office purposes.  We don’t know why they need it, it’s just that they ask.’  We complied – BIG MISTAKE.  We were them asked to sign the blank credit card form, which we refused to do.  They said that they were a small outfit and needed 20% up front.  We said that our deal was with RSG and they should contact Jim Dixon if they had any questions.

THE BAIT AND SWITCH – About 4 hours after the loading, we got a call from Tina of AMS.  She told us that the weight came in 60 % higher than the estimate and she needed authorization to charge our credit card for the full move, up front.  We refused and said that was not our deal with RSG. Tina said that in her 25 years in the industry, she had never seen a move that was not paid up front.  We told her that we had moved internationally several times, always COD, and that since the moving company had our goods and was not obliged to release them on delivery until paid, they were covered.  Jim Dixon was no support.  He wimped out.  He said he had ‘no authority to negotiate billing’.  This from the guy whose company professes “We offer single-source contact throughout your move, personally attending to all your needs. Your personal move coordinator will be with you at every step along the way, 24/7.”

THE FRAUD – In the next day and a half as we were driving to Canada, we received 14 calls from Tina seeking our authorization to charge our card with the full amount of the move.  Finally, I sent an email clearly saying that we would NOT authorize it.  The calls stopped, but we later found out that AMS (Tina?) had processed a charge for the full amount against our credit card, without authorization.

MORE CHEATING – Because we did not believe the weight, we requested a reweigh.  They agreed saying we would need to pay for the reweigh, which we agreed to.  At the reweigh, sure enough, it turned out they overcharged us by some 650 pounds.  Not a surprise.  Even at the reweigh, they tried more weight manipulation, with two people in the truck for the weigh-in, and only one on the weigh-out.  When the weight cheating came out, AMS’s only response was that they would send it to their ‘accounting department’ for processing.  No apology.  The AMS office where Ken Conley is located is tiny, by the way.  The accounting department is likely Tina herself J.

Weight bumping’ is such an issue in moving that the GAO commissioned a report on it, and we furnished that report to Jim Dixon.  No response.  The report sets out the many ways moving companies fraudulently manipulate the weights.  Jim Dixon and RSG have all but disappeared at this stage, notwithstanding that wonderful assurance – “We offer single-source contact throughout your move, personally attending to all your needs. Your personal move coordinator will be with you at every step along the way, 24/7

MORE SHENANIGNS – AMS agreed that we were owed a refund, but then said that while they could charge our credit card, they could not process and credit on it and would need to send us a check.  It would be amusing if not so time consuming and irritating.  We, to this date, have not received a refund and finally had to call our credit card company to dispute the charge.  The credit card company confirmed that AMS absolutely could process a credit on our card.

CONTACT US BEFORE USING RSG OR AMS.  BELIEVE THE REVIEWS.  We are senior citizens who have moved internationally several times.  These folks may be up to a local move, but long international moves do not seem to be in their league.  The desperation with which they pursued us for authorization to prepay the move, and the tardiness in processing a refund (they were ready in but 4 hours to calculate and process a charge for the upfront payment  J) would lead one to think the company may be financially fragile.  In any event BUYER BEWARE!
