  1. Moving

I hired Bob to move my items from a storage unit in Richmond quoted me $800. I called to see if he was still interested in Job then quoted me $1000!! I agreed to pay half Bob then gave me a gmail.ca address which of course I could not send money to a fake account then proceed to call me saying I probably couldn't afford his services & if I didn't deposit $1050 in his account he wasn't moving my stuff! I called and texted him many times to meet up to pay cash with no response! If he didn't want the job he could have refused! How unprofessional

  2. Excellent service.

Bob and team moved us twice from Metro Vancouver to Powell River and back. Incredible service and price for a long-distance move, as well as a careful and friendly team. I highly recommend them.

  3. Move from Qualicum to Powell River.

River City brought our dining room set from Qualicum to Powell River for us. They were very professional and brought everything in and set it up perfectly for us. Every piece was professionally wrapped for protection. They arrived when they said they would and the price was very reasonable and was so worth it. The fellows who came were quick and careful and very pleasant. I would certainly recommend this company.

  4. Great Experience.

We couldn't be more pleased to recommend River City Movers who recently moved us effortlessly from West Vancouver to Powell River.
Our place in West Vancouver was difficult access, with a narrow entrance to back the truck into, and two levels of outdoor stairs to navigate on a hot summer day. We are quite particular, but from the get go it was obvious Bob and his team knew what they were doing, and it was a great comfort to feel we were in good hands as the process of moving is always stressful enough as it is. To sum it up, I would say they were reliable, efficient, friendly, and professional. Very reasonably priced as well. Altogether all you could ask for!

  5. A terrible move.

We were not impressed. We were given a quote where we believe that we were going to be able to have the blankets included and put into the storage like other moving companies have done for us in the past. Instead, when we arrived at the storage facility, they put the furniture side on side on the floor without any blankets in between them. When we asked about getting the blankets are buying them from them so that this would not be the case, they refused. They were also insisting that we pay them with cash when this was not upfront in the initial negotiation for the contract. We felt pressured by this because they wanted to get to the ferry and did not want to do it properly. My husband had them unloaded and put them back in with boxes and things and I had to go to the Salvation Army to get blankets so that the furniture could be properly managed. It was an apalling situation and not one that I would want anyone else to have experience. Terrible.

  6. 3 times good.

We have had Bob Tindle move stuff for us three times. Every time he was reliable, punctual, and he and his men were careful, reasonable, and a pleasure to work with. I will not hesitate to call on him again.

  7. Moving.

Terrible movers. Dents in walls scratches on floors and furniture. They even dropped boxes and said nothing neighbour had to tell me. They quoted $300 but then when they arrived to unload wanted $200 more claimed there was more there than I said. I was to pay or they will drive away with my stuff. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND NEVER BELIEVE BOB TINDLE. SCAM ARTIST.

  8. Damaged Furniture.

River City was on time to load furniture on truck, but when they left, the truck broke down after two miles. Mike Porter (owner) refussed my suggestions of transferring my furniture to another truck on scene, but called a wrecker to lift and pull it around I-295 to a local garage and then transferred the furniture. After two phone calls of concerns of damaging my furniture ,they towed the truck at 75 mph. The load shifted when the truck was picked up by the wrecker and broke an antique desk, an amourer, and destroyred a television. We filed a claim and the owners have NEVER returned a call or followed up on the claim. River City's owner (Mike Porter) has no customer service skills and no scense of obligation to follow up with his customers.  River City claims to have Insurance but shows no evidence of any when you file a claim due to their carelessness in destroying furniture and the poor condition of their trucks. Mike Porter advised he has a partner name CiCi that takes care of claims but I've never been able to speak with this imaginary person. This occurred in December 2013 and River City (Mike Porter) has not made any attempt to contact us due to his companies negligence and his poor decision making. I have been by his undesirable office on Devoe St and he blew me off and said he does not work on the claims and refussed to give me the insurance compaqnies name. I would discourage anyone from ever using River City to move anything at any time for any reason.  .

  9. Mover from Powell River never showed up.

River City Movers, Powell River, BC, was recommended to me by the owner/operator of the U-Haul location in Powell River, BC, Canada for light loads to Vancouver. I telephoned Bob, the mover, and we arranged for him to pick up the 3 items I needed moved to North Vancouver after 5 pm. He quoted me only $75.00 because it was a "back haul" job. I was pleasantly surprised, until he did not show up and he did not call. So I called him that evening. He told me that he was in another city 350 km away. He told me he would pick up my things between 12 noon and 5 pm the next day. I waited all day but he did not show up and he did not call me. After 6 pm I left two messages but he never replied to me. It is now 2 days later and he has not contacted me. He left me stranded with only 3-4 days to find a mover which I have been unable to do. If I cannot find anyone, I will have to give these 3 items to charity because I am unable to transport them any other way. I will have to purchase a new bed which will most likely cost me a minimum of $400, $75 for a new chair, and $50 for a TV table.
