Terrible company!! The salesman was a con-man deluxe. They claimed that they had their own trucks and moving crews. But the moving crew showed up at my house with a u-haul truck and the crew was subcontracted. I was charged an extra $3000 on moving day because the volume of my goods was higher then the company calculated. I'm confused how this could happen since I gave the guy specific measurements of every item we were shipping. The salesman had claimed that they were the only movers who signed a binding contract that locked in my price. That was a total lie!! How could they charge me an extra $3000 if we had a locked in contract? The main reason I chose Roadrunner Moving and "Storage" was because the salesman told me that they would give me 30 days of free storage at a climax controlled facility they owned in Texas. Come to find out, there is a different company based in Houston that is also called roadrunner moving. But when I called them I was told that they are not associated with the Florida company, and the Florida company does not own storage in Texas. I later learned that the moving crew loaded my furniture in the u-haul truck and unloaded it into a rental storage unit in Amarillo, Texas. The moving crew was very unprofessional so I requested a different crew to deliver my furniture in Oklahoma. The company ignored my request and sent the same crew to deliver the furniture. I'm wondering if they just go with the lowest bid on the subcontract. Other lies include: The salesman told me that the moving crew would "crate" all of our our large pictures and also marble furniture tops. In my book, the word crate means a wooden box. I was very impressed with that idea. But it ended up that they just put those items into standard cardboard picture boxes. They did the same with the TV. I couldn't believe it. They had extra charges for wrapping certain furniture items in cardboard and blankets. The movers did do a good job of packing their truck tight and all the way to the top. But many of our boxes were crushed on the corners or edges. Surprisingly we didn't have too many items broken. They did damage a couple of our antique furniture items. Basically, the salesman bent over backwards to be courteous and helpful until I had paid the initial $2000 deposit. After that point, he could care less about me. I will never use this company again!!
Dishonest bunch of scammers.
Just look a their fake employee and paid-for reviews..its easy to spot. Don't take a chance letting these con-artists have your stuff. They'll shake you down for more money than agreed and wreck your stuff.
Horrible experience.
Miami to Charlotte. Price gouging, missing items at destination (Sonos, bose speakers) late arrival for packing and pickup- then crew leader leaves after 2 hrs, and crew is in chaos, resulting in our job rolling over into a second day :( causing my husband to stay the night while my son and I drove 16 hours to Charlotte by ourselves. Chaos in their office and scheduling, close to move date! Not prepared with packing materials for a white glove move - and actually asked me to go get boxes at Lowes! (which I did- in the rain!) Most of our belongings were going into storage for a year in Charlotte. My husband had to supervise organizing into 2 units - they wanted us to rent a third. We are emptying them out this week - so much is broken, scarred, crushed, tossed in boxes & unwrapped. Drawers never emptied, shelving left in bookcases. Art work not wrapped, crushed together, * we paid for extra and individual art packaging. Few clothes hanging * we paid for MANY extra wardrobe boxes. A few of the crew were standouts and worked hard. Sales seemed honest and thorough- but in actuality, simply led the "scam-to-come" by earning my trust, and making me believe we had addressed every possible element of making this a successful project where they get paid good money - and we get well taken care of. Such a violation of our trust, peace of mind and property. Shame on this company and its leadership. Joanna Phelan.
One of the best.
I was in need of a quick move to the other side of the city and road runner was the only one up to it. Some friends of mine have used them in the pass so I ask them if they thought they would help me. I called them on Tuesday and they were there Wednesday morning bright and early to help me move my items. Everyone was friendly and quick ! They put everything exactly where I had ask which made it much easier to unpack. I will definitely use there service again.
