  1. Did not fulfill contract

    Do not use S & M Relo LLC to move your items. My moving broker contracted S & M Relo LLC to move our goods from AZ to OK. I contracted 1800 Cubic feet and they only moved 800 cube when I refused to additional charges. I had to move 500 cube on my own. The packers failed to perform a full pack as contracted which added to the damage of several items. The packers came without any packing boxes. The driver spent almost two hours going to Home Depot to get boxes. Customer service has not responded to any of our emails. They are part of a racquet to scam unsuspecting movers. I have help move military families for almost 44 years. I knew how large a truck was needed to move my goods. I just could not get a U-Haul to do it.

  2. Terrible movers

    Absolutely the worst, most unprofessional company I have ever used for any service, bar none. Please do your research and demand that if you work with a broker that they disclose who will actually be moving your goods, or fall prey to a fly-by-night company like this. I hired a broker which in turn contracted S&M Relo to move my goods from Minnesota to Kansas. I was never told who would actually be picking up my household items and when these guys showed up I immediately understood why. First off I was contacted by their "dispatch office" to confirm a pick-up time of 12pm-2pm on a Saturday in early June 2021 - lady on the phone assured me that was a guaranteed pick-up window. Day of pick-up arrives, and 2 pm passes - no call; 3pm passes - no call; 4pm passed - no call; finally I called the driver who said they were still an hour away, so in the end they showed up 3 hours late, in a Penske rental truck, with no excuse or apology. Then upon their crew walking through the house, I get a call from their boss saying my final total was changed from $3,500 to $5,700 after he claimed my gross volume was double what was quoted - I had added a couple pieces of furniture and boxes during packing, but no way on earth did that come to double my whole inventory! Complete BS. After arguing with him for about 45 minutes he proceeded to give me a very condescending and snide speech about "how long he'd been doing this" and told me that the broker just did that crappy of a job estimating my inventory - all in all his point was they're always justified in asking for more money because the broker's estimates are never accurate. Right there I could tell that was their standard line they give to everyone (if you don't believe me read the countless other reviews, almost every one says S&M jacked up their total bill at pickup). But not wanting to cancel, having waited on this pick-up for 3 months, I paid the price increase. Upon loading I also witnessed 2 of their guys tossing around boxes of mine I had clearly labeled "fragile". And after all that least I could expect my delivery in the contract-guaranteed 30 business day window right? Wrong. I was left sitting in my new empty apartment all the way until August 18th before I finally got notified of delivery. I had also called their "customer service" desk about a dozen times during that 2 month period trying to get an update and nobody every had any information. There was clearly no communication between anyone in this company. They also verbally assured me 3 times that my items would be delivered in the window or they would give me a per-diem refund. On delivery I had 2 tables broken, and 1 lost box of misc. goods. All my boxes were caved in which I could tell meant they took no handling care whatsoever. When I called to speak to a manager with explanation for the delay and to talk through my delay compensation, the woman taking my call flat-out refused to let me speak to any sort of supervisor - clearly having been coached to do so to keep from having to answer for complaints and performance. When I asked about my lost box they just told me to file a claim - which I understood to mean they flat-out gave up looking for it or they just didn't care. I found out only from my broker that they worded their contract such that I could not get any per-diem compensation for delay unless you purchased their "premium package" which they never explained to me at pick-up. At the end I received $90 for probably a couple hundred in lost goods and nearly a month overrun on schedule. Absolutely unacceptable and pathetic. It's unbelievable these guys are allowed to operate as a certified mover. Trash company, unethical and unprofessional employees, and pathetic service. Avoid at all costs.

  3. Scammers scammers scammers

    I didn’t choose to use these crooks. I apparently used a broker who didn’t disclose to me that they were A a broker, and didn’t disclose who they worked with or assigning my move to. I was quoted 1700 for the whole transition to move from Raleigh to HTX. When the mover arrived they lied by saying I had more stuff than was initially listed (I had everything to the box) and jumped the pickup price to 2500 then delivery would be an additional 1500 on top of my 920 deposit.

    They lost about 6 boxes, several table legs and a vacuum. They ended up subcontracting my delivery to a boiler room company and agreed (on my behalf unbeknownst to me) that I would pay an additional fee of 150 for the delivery drivers to use the elevator or 150 per flight of stairs.

    Their boss demanded I pay the 1500 by Zelle since he could not pay the drivers which I told him was not my issue.

    Filed a complaint with the BBB which they ignored all requests from them and filed a complaint with the DOT.

    I filed an insurance claim to take .60 cents on the dollar for the value of items, for which they decided to ignore all together and give me a good faith offer of $50. They can go fuck themselves with that offer and decided to update my complaint with the DOT to include that they refused to payout the insurance claim which that will be notated for the agent in charge of my case.

  4. Mom's belongings cross country

    Worst ever, no accountability, took no care with my mother's possessions. Showed no remorse for delivering broken goods. Lost nearly a third of the items with the big-ticket items, in manufacturer's packaging disappearing more frequently. Failed in communication concerning delivery time and date. Recommended by a broker, heartbreaking experience overall.

  5. Long Distance Mover from AZ to IN

    This company picked up my 78 year old mom's household goods on August 12, 2021. It is now December 6th and she still doesn't have her belongings. I have heard others getting only half of their things and/or other people's possessions. We are mostly worried about family heirlooms, pictures that go back decades, and my mom's winter clothes, medical supplies, and furniture. I feel sick to my stomach over all of this.

  6. Worst company I have ever dealt with!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!

    Worst thing I have ever dealt with!! Cost over 10000 and than to get my stuff I had to pay an extra 1600 to get it a week after it was supposed to show up. So it all started with them originally showing up late for pick up. Which made everything I had to do late also which means I had to drive 9 hours away thru the night!!! Not what I wanted or planned. Next when they arrived they couldn’t take this or that and raised the price and so on. Next I get to New Mexico and guess what my belongs dont! I call I call I call I call I call. Finally some one tells me if that maybe my stuff will be there in 30 days. Are u kidding me!!?!?! So they say pay 1600 more and we can get it there tomorrow. So I do that!! When my stuff arrives half of it was missing and the other half was broken!!! felt like everything I had worked for was taken!! Cost me over 10000 dollars to be robbed!! Filed a claim and they wanna give me 40 bucks! 40 bucks!!! Lmao!! But guess what now I can’t even get my 40 bucks!! Called 500 times and no one is there that I need to talk to! Ridiculous!!!

  7. Horrible move

    Cross country move from iowa to florida. They give you a new contract at pickup and if you do not sign you are out the deposit (in my case 1200$) you can only select insurance of .60/LB. It arrives 3 weeks after projected date. Items were stolen, some were broken, hired Ed a full service move for nearly $5000. My items were not reassembled and they offered a settlement of $112 dollars. They stole a $900 dollar snowboard. You don’t lose a custom ocean print blue snowboard going to florida.

  8. Have other people’s stuff

    The worst company ever. Only delivered half our stuff and broke the rest. We have other stuff from their next delivery on the 19th of November 2021. Contact me if it’s yours. 770-878-0923

  9. Zero stars for this shady company

    DO NOT use this company or Global Home Logistics–who pulled a bait and switch by sending S&M RELO to us when they were supposed to do our move. S&M's contract, which were we pressured to sign on the day of move after they were 3 hours late, basically gives away all of your rights. They took 3 months do deliver our goods, which were busted and missing (including 2 new mattresses gone). There's no accountability, no customer service, and they don't even allow you to see your goods before paying them the delivery fee. Although their contract said they'd pay us for being over the delivery spread, we received a paltry $50 for being 25 days overdue (past the generous and ridiculous 6 weeks spread).

    They damaged my motorcycle. Bedroom set, desk and several other item, gave me the run around as I tried to put in a damage claim. Take my advise, do not use this company, in my opinion that are very unprofessional

    THIS COMPANY WAS C0NTRACTED BY ALL STATE MOVING OF AMERICA TO HANDLE OUR MOVE FROM AZ TO TN... ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE FROM DAY ONE.

    INITIAL ESTIMATE WAS $8200 AND BY WHEN OUR STUFF WAS ON THE TRUCK THEY CALLED AND DEMANDED OVER $10,000 - INN THE END OUR MOOVE ENDED UP COSTING UP OVER $16,000!!

    WE WERE TOLD OUR STUFF WOULD BE DELIVERED BY 10/9 ND IT DID NOT SHOW UP UNTIL 10/25

    ALMOST ALL OF OUR STUFF IS DAMAGED OR MISSING... BIG ITEMS LIKE THE LARGE HEADBOARD TO OUR KING SIZE BED... ALL 3 OF OUR MATRRESSESM- KING MATTRESS, FILL SIZE MATTRESS AND BABY CRIB MATTRESS - OUR BABY'S CRIB IS MISSING - SO FAR I AM AT OVER $10K IN DAMAGES TO THE ITEMS THAT DID ACTUALLY SHOW UP.

    WHEN WE WOUD CALL FOR STATUS OR TO DISCUSS CONCERNS, WE WERE LAUGHED AT OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

    I CAUGHT THE PEOPLE LOADING OUR STUFF SMOKING CIGARETTES AND MARAJUANA IN MY HOME.

    THE PEOPLE THAT SHOWED UP TO UNLOAD WERENT MUCH BETTER IN CALIBER. ONE OF THEM SPENT OVER AN HOUR IN OUR BATHROOM THEN ASKED IF WE WERE GOING TO BE GIVING ANY OF OUR POSSESSIONS AWAY - THEN ASKED IF WE PLANNED TO TIP THEM...

    THE COMPANY MISCALCULATED THE CUBIC FEET AND WEIGHT BUT REFUSED TO CORRECT IT.

    THIS COMPANY OPERATES AS IF IT HAS NO CONSEQUENCES FOR IT'S NEGLIGENT ACTIONS. STEER CLEAR IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY!

    WE ARE FINANCIALLY AND MENTALLY DEVASTATED

    MY HUSBAND HAD TO GO TO THE ER THE DAY AFTER OUR STUFF WAS DROPPED OFF BECAUSE OF CHEST PAINS - TURNS OUT THIS CAUSED A PANIC ATTACK AND NOW HE NEEDS TO BE MEDICATED. HE IS A TOUGH GUY BUT THIS WHOLE EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN A LIVING NIGHTMARE - WE ARE STILL ASSESSING DAMAGES :(

  12. Damage, breakage, missing items, not responsive

    I am at a loss to the amount of damage, loss of items, the complete disregard of care for my items, and the lack of response from a manager at S&M Relo LLC out of Ohio. This was the company that Gold Standard Moving and Storage from Florida brokered me with. I have already written a lengthy review on that company. They assured me I would receive white glove treatment of my items-ha! S&M Relo picked up my partial household load on August 16 th 2021. Right off the bat they put numbers on my totes and boxes. The head guy called his boss and his boss told me I had 1000 cu ft, not the 667 or so cu ft that Frederick from Gold Standard had figured on the 11th, and it was going to cost me $2000 extra. I told him that’s impossible as I had given Frederick the exact size and numbers of boxes and totes. I had also measured the furniture in all dimensions and told him what they were and how many shelves, etc. When I got the initial quote it was around $4300, but I had underestimated the number of totes and boxes the first time. On the 11th, Frederick called and I gave him all the new numbers and total dimensions of each piece of furniture and he told me it would be $6900 ( or within a few dollars ), so naturally I was upset and talked to Cline-if that’s his real name- for quite some time. I accused him of bait and switch tactics. He said it wasn’t bait and switch as he was prepared to take 667 cu ft and leave the rest , or I could pay the extra $2000, or they would just leave and I would lose my $1780 I had paid to Gold Standard at the very beginning. He also said Gold Standard was at fault and to call them. I tried. No response there either. They had me over a barrel. My house was sold and I had to be out on the 20th. I hadn’t read their reviews when they were assigned to me . They packed what little furniture i was taking and 3 large floor hand thrown and decorated floor vases. When they started loading I told them things were fragile. All my boxes that had fragile items in were marked with large FRAGILE stickers, contents and my name on them.
    When they called on Oct 1st they said they would be there at 7:30 the next morning. Finally I called the driver around 8 and he said it would be noon-he had to pick up another load to put on the back of mine.
    When they arrived, they had to unload all the other peoples stuff on my driveway-a lot of it wasn’t even wrapped. Anyway they started carrying the furniture in. The damage to my furniture astounded me and my friend. One barristers cabinet had wood broken off in several places and a leg was almost broke off. My almost new leather couch had a piece of leather torn from it at the left front leg and the leg was scratched up; one large floor vase lip was broken off in two places; wood was broken off my secretary at the bottom front; the hooks on the mirror had gone through the cardboard packing and one of the hooks was broken off; an Amish made oak cabinet had a piece of the wood broke off the leg; the 3 shelves from my antique mission oak display cabinet are missing so that cabinet is useless until I can find a craftsman to build shelves to fit it, and the very last straw was my other antique oak barrister cabinet by Gunn Furniture came completely broken in pieces, all the wood smashed, metal pieces missing and the glass in hundreds of pieces. Both companies were told they were antiques at the beginning. I found about 15 pieces of art pottery broken when I unpacked, and also a few dishes. I have been traveling to shows to buy and sell pottery for years, so all were triple wrapped in bubble wrap and paper stuffed between for protection. The totes and boxes were marked pottery or glassware and had large Fragile stickers. They had to have dropped two of them as the bottom pots were broken even with all the cushioning under them. Filing a claim is a joke. They make it so hard and time consuming in hopes you won’t do it. Also, the delivering driver said I had about 900 cu ft not 1000. I’m sure my three missing shelves and 1 tote of 60’s record albums and a hand sewn quilt didn’t take up 100 cu ft. I asked S&M to call the people they delivered to before me to ask about my missing items. They said they can’t do that. I had to tell the driver’s helper of about 8 boxes that weren’t mine that he asked me about. I still ended up with someone’s pictures that I have reported to S&M, but they haven’t picked it up yet. If you love your things, pack them yourself and rent a truck. Oh yes, after unloading the driver told me I had 5 more minutes to check things out as he had to leave for the other load. I had asked for a copy of the delivery papers with all the issues and he said he would finish it up and give it to me. He drove off without leaving them. I haven’t been able to reach him since.Do not use this company!! Betty Fry

  13. Only thing undamaged was my clothes

    I moved from MI to AZ and all my furniture was DESTROYED at drop off. They also lost my couch and mattress plus a few other pieces of furniture. Not to mention they held my stuff for a month and a half. $5000 for them to destroy all my belongings, I would have been better off leaving my furniture back in MI and buying all new with the way they treated my things. It honestly is so soul crushing to receive all your things damaged. Even down to coffee mugs and vinyl records. They didn’t take care of any of my things. The kids that dropped off my stuff weren’t even the ones who drove my stuff out here. They were flown out to do drop offs in the area. One was an employee and the other was his brother (not even an employee and obviously not a professional mover). They were dropping my boxes left and right. I even moved most the stuff in myself because it would have taken way longer if I didn’t (they arrived to my place at 9:30PM) and they weren’t handling my things with care. Another thing promised by this company is if they take it apart they will put it together at new destination. I asked the two guys to put my bed together and they were clueless and couldn’t do it. Not that it matters cause they lost my mattress anyway!!!!! If I can edit this review later I will add pics, but for now I will leave you with this: AVOID THIS COMPANY AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! I literally have to buy all new furniture cause they even managed to lose legs to my vanity and dining table!!!! How you ask?! Good question. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

  15. Worst movers EVER!

    DONOT EVER USE THESE MOVERS!!!! Many of our things damaged beyond repair, including my refrigerator which they took apart and then no one could put it back together again! Parts missing, a bookcase ready for the dump, among other things. I was promised a delivery date which they did not keep, no one returns phone calls from this company. My total move cost $20,000 to go from Mesa,AZ to St Anthony, Idaho. I will be filing a claim and if not satisfied I will be talking to a lawyer who handles these kinds of cases. Totally incompetent, lie about things, and the care of my belongings was atrocious! Dont even consider using this company or Nationwide Moving either.
