  1. Scam Alert!! Scam Alert!! Scam Alert!!

Read all of the reviews. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE!! I fully agree with all of the negative reviews already posted. They work with a company called Move Smart and they are all liars and scumbags. They will low-ball the original estimate and when the movers show up they will immediately double the amount. The movers also damaged my furniture, lost items, and tried to deliver others' property. They are slick, sound reliable, and make endless promises, but at the end of the day its all lies. They also go by other names such as Luxury Van Lines (they keep changing their name to stay ahead of the law and negative reviews). Once again, use a reliable company such as Mayflower or Allied. You will pay the same price in the end and your move will be much smoother.

  2. Beware of this Moving SCAM Co.!!

Safeguard was subcontracted out for a NY to Texas move on 6/28/20. They showed up late as the truck allegedly broke down! They showed up at 930 pm, never started to even load until 11 pm, then left after 1 am, what PROFESSIONAL moving co. does that?? They had a much smaller truck and tried saying I only had 286 cubic feet, which was different than the 2,000 lbs. originally allotted for! They then decided to raise the original price 3 times higher and demanded $445 cash to wrap a TV and go up a flight of stairs from the basement and to 2nd floor! That was NEVER told to me by co. beforehand! The movers knew I had to be out of house by 7am that morning for tenants moving in, so I had no choice but to use these Crooks!! My move in date was 7/08/20 and truck had alleged mechanical issues and showed up on 7/26!! I basically paid 1 month rent on empty apartment! The co. and business manager Vanessa just don't care about customer service, WORST EVER!! They refuse to call you back, communicate, or negotiate! The itemized inventory carbon copy was unreadable that I received and they had the wrong destination in TX on the bill that luckily I caught, otherwise they would have gone 100 plus miles opposite direction! Movers had other person's property mixed in with my property and the TV that I paid an extra $ 120 to wrap had a smashed screen!! Several other antiques that were priceless were damaged, not to mention a deep cigarette burn on the arm of my new couch! Apparently the Foreman Sharif didn't think my $445 cash was good enough! How this company is even legally operating is beyond belief! the foreman basically told me on night of pickup to make sure to tip his guys well if I want to keep my stuff safe! Really?? Sounds like extortion! Safeguard uses literally criminal business tactics to steal the money of hard working consumers and if you refuse to pay them, your items will be held hostage! I paid $4951 for a 1 bedroom move, and then paid another $1200 for a UHAUL box, since the Idiots never had enough room! The original contract was $1471 for entire move! The attorney General in NY, NJ, and TX are all being notified and hopefully companies like these will be shut down to protect the innocent consumers!

  3. This company is a scam!

Complete scam! Initially booked through US Moving & Standard, did not realize Safeguard was subcontracted. Movers showed up on the day of and basically re-wrote the contract. Tried to charge a long carry fee, an extraordinary amount of "bulky item" and "wrapping fee", "storage and handling fee", none of which make sense. My move would have been TWICE as much as the price I was told would be the "maximum I would pay".

I was then connected to VANESSA, who calls herself the manager of the company. She is the rudest person ever, impossible to reason with, and will not negotiate a single penny.

They will not guarantee ANYTHING, so don't expect to get your delivery on the date it was promised. Who knows what will happen to your belongings.

By the way, the movers were not wearing face masks and were smoking outside my home. Unacceptable during COVID pandemic. I had to cancel on site because of all these reasons, and they are refusing to give me my deposit back.

This company is out to scam you. Don't be fooled.

  4. Catastrophic Move from Maryland to Alabama.

Safeguard has 1 Star because 0 is not an Option. Please, Please Beware!! Safeguard was subcontracted by All Pro Movers (without my knowledge or consent). The staff at Safeguard were rude, tried to change the planned move date, at one point implied they would not move my items., and on the move date we’re 3 hours late and refused to move several items because they said they did not have enough room because they had to pick up other furniture. Threatening to not move my things was particularly problematic because I had already paid AllPro and they had made a partial payment to Safeguard. There was no way to get my money back. The Carrier Company movers (subcontracted by Safeguard) were just as bad. The driver did not have a Drivers License and because they did not have a Moving Van able to negotiate railroad tracks, I had to rent a u haul and then pay an additional $200 “because they had to off load”. I had pieces of expensive furniture missing, and several boxes containing years of photographs and other valuable items. I filed for insurance coverage and was offered $12.00, yes, $12.00. Have been trying to reach Safeguard for several days re arbitration process and have not received a return call. Next step is reporting them to the better business bureau. Please Beware.

  5. Move to Conway SC from Shallotte MC.

The move was done in one day despite starting late morning. 60 mile move. Moving crew was efficient and courteous. No articles were damaged in the move. If I have any comments it would be the cost of the move even if some of the unexpected high charge was due to an incomplete inventory on my part. Original estimate was $3000+ and ended up being over $5000. Also, I requested East Coast Moving as they have been a local company in Shallotte for years and ended up with Safeguard out of NJ and was not told this would happen either before the move or after. I would not have used a non-local company had I been informed. Service was good but the price (to me) was excessive.
