  1. Best Moving Experience ever!

I am very sorry that it took me a while to come back and write this review for you guys but I have to say these men were just outstanding! I called around to a few different moving companies earlier in the year and then my moving date got changed so I put it off for a while. When I started back my search I was surprised to find out that all the moving companies I had called before in Chapel Hill were booked needless to say I began to panic I called all around Raleigh, Durham, I mean everywhere and all gave me the same answer, "We are booked up at the moment but we will call you if anything opens up." Sawyers did exactly this two days later and saved the day! They came into my old home and did a free walk-through and came back with a very affordable price for my move (I was even able to have them do some of my packing thanks to the Price that they gave me.) The day the movers showed up they got right to work and even made my day easier laughing and helping me cope with the stressful day!

I know now that when I go to move again that I have to call much earlier than last time, but I know I will only be calling Sawyers for me or any of my families upcoming moves!

  2. Very professional and polite movers.

Last month I didn’t move with Sawyers and had an absolutely amazing experience they were careful Polite and worked amazingly well!

  3. Great Move.

I was very happy with my move they did a great job, They were honest and did not damage any furniture and my baby grand piano made it safe and sound without a dent!!

  4. BBB Accreditation Was Revoked on 8/23/2013.

Do not use this company.  Their BBB accrediation was revoked on August 23, 2013, because they did not honor their commitments.  They also sent me a text page two days before the move, asking me to pay 50% of the cost of the move in cash prior to the move, and the balance in cash after the move.  Do not do this.  Then if there is a dispute on damaged items or excessive charges, it is almost impossible to get their assistance or attention.  Only use your bank credit card, as they will help arbitrate the dispute.   I do not understand why they are recommended on Angie's List. .

  5. Sawyers Moving.

I booked Sawyers for a Move from New Bern to Raleigh. I was told by my salesman (Chris) that my movers would arrive between 8 am and 9 am. They showed up at 12:10 pm and started to load my household goods. My wife and I had already staged many items in our garage to make it quicker and easier for the movers. WOW, what a mistake. These guys had no idea how to load or what to load. They loaded all my appliances first so that when they finally arrived at my new home, The appliances were last off and everything else was in the way and had to be re-staged. These guys had no clue on how to work smart and make the move simple and quick. I had just moved to New Bern in October and the company that moved me then was awesome, the move including travel time was 5.5 hours shorter than Sawyers, and my house was set up and looked great. Sawyers was slow, didn;t want to listen, they unplugged all my surround sound and Xbox, etc instead of just unplugging the surge protector from the wall. The crew leader was on the phone every time I looked around and was very agitated when I asked him why it was taking so long to load my things. At the end of the day, I had several boxes, yard furniture, and several pictures left at my old address and had to travel back to New Bern to pick it up. I called the boss (Dillon) to complain, he stated that he would get to the bottom of it and call me back. 8 days later and Dillon hasn't called yet. Very unprofessional company.

  6. Sawyer's Moving July 17, 2013.

I have moved multiple times in my life, large households and small, and have learned not to expect too much. I retained this company based on Angie's list and the high recommendations it received. The communication pre-move was fine. The crew  arrived on time, The three men were very pleasant and respectful. The problem was the total lack of experience. None really knew very much about what they were doing. They were reluctant to ask for help, don't know why-we were there with cold water and encouraging them to take breaks and stay hydrated; we bought them lunch which they appreciated. The estimate for the move was 5 hours and a total cost of 600-700 dollars. The slowness of the move d/t their inexperience made it take 9 1/2 hours and the total cost was twice the estimate--1100 dollars. Fortunately we only moved 7 blocks so the poor wrapping and packing was not as critical as it might have been. I am still moving odds and ends that they simply did not load four days later. They had no tools so I supplied those, I am still finding them in strange places. After spending two nights "sleeping in the valley," I realized the king size bed had not been properly re-assembled.  I think the failure was mainly administrative. I don't fault the crew even though this was a very inexperienced crew. The estimate was way off and not written down (my error), and  the company gets poor marks, not the men who did work their tails off.

  7. Great Work.

I promised my 3 movers John, Curtis and Bo I would write a review of their move. They did a great job. I have a 3000 sq ft home. They packed up every item. I did not touch a thing. The estimate was $2800 and my total price was $2600. No damages. Thanks.
