Very Pleased.
I am a repeat customer. I have used schapps moving system two times. Both times I was 100% satisfied. I would like to mention that I was given a quote for the second move over the phone due to the company having limitations because of Covid . It turned out I was under quoted but the company honored their first quote to me. The crew was super, (I had the same crew the 2nd move as I did the first) they were friendlyAnd very professional. My second move took place on a day that was 93°! The crew got me out of my one place and into the other in 6 hrs!! I will be moving again out of state within the next three years and there is no question,,,,, I will definitely have this company move me. Totally satisfied in every sense.
Recent Move.
Absolutely terrible. We have been long time repeat customers but something bad has happened with this business. The owner, Steve Schaap is rude and incredibly unprofessional. The phone is rarely answered and Glen, the Operations Manager, does not return phone calls or e-mail message. Recently we learned that Schaap 'lost' seven items that we had in storage at their facility..total value $30,000. I have rarely, if ever, dealt with a company that provided worse service. I would rate at zero stars but that is not an option.
Move from Colonie to Malta.
Terrible. We have several issues that we were told by Glen he had people to clean new carpet and fix a leather sofa. Will not return call or email. Also spoke with Steve who was going to address the problems with Glen with no return call. It has been 2 months. They have a poor rating on social media and we can see why. If you value your furniture, do NOT use this company. This was our 4th move and never experienced such a poor experience.
Moved May 2017.
The movers were to arrive between 8-8:30. A call at 8:05 let me know the radiator hose blew and the driver had replaced it but that they were on their way. They never showed til 9:20. The truck was too small and only 2 men arrived. I paid for a larger truck and 3 men. The one driver said he didn't know anything other than what I had to move wouldn't fit in the truck and that he should've just stayed in bed. 2 hours later another truck arrived with more help. The movers damaged the wall coming down the stairs from my house which cost me an additional $500.00 at the closing as the new owners had done a walk through and took a video of the damage. I myself made several calls to Kathy who had done the appraisal and got no return. As the day progressed, the movers moved the last piece of my furniture and as he carried it upstairs, I was told..looks like there's some damage to your stuff. I took pictures, sent the video from the new owners and submitted a claim form. I was denied any monetary reimbursement for the ruined entertainment center. I was told that since I packed the boxes it was my fault that something along the way spilled and ate the finish off the top of the entertainment center. The company didn't seem to care, perhaps because they're a large company. I was recommended this company from my real estate agent. I was disappointed and very stressed over the entire situation. Moving itself is stressful and expensive. This company showed no compassion and completely disregarded my situation.
