  1. Worst Experience Ever!! These People Are a Scam!

They change the valuation rate from first point of contact once the driver shows up. You are hurried to sign their "pick up" paperwork, not allowing you time to read the small print. OVERCHARGE for items that were already quoted from first quote. When delivered, lost and major damage to items. All contact with all emplyee's was the worst customer service EVER. Rude, blatant lying, talk in circles. Heidi, the so called CSR supervisor lied to me on several occasions stating she didn't have a manager, then stated she did, but that they don't speak to customers, stated she didn't know who the owner of the company was etc. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. I don't know how they sleep at night doing the scam they do!

  2. Can't Believe Company is Still in Business.

AFTER MOVE DID NOT RECEIVE BISSELL CARPET SHAMPOOER, SONY HEADPHONES, MAGIC MILL GRINDER, HOPE SOMEBODY IS ENJOYING THEM. ANTIQUES BROKEN THAT CAN NEVER BE REPLACED, EXPENSIVE FURNITURE SCRATCHED, GOUGED AND BEYOND REPLACEMENT. GLASS FIGURINES BROKEN IN HALF, CRACKED AND/OR CHIPPED. 32" TV SCREEN SHATTERED, HAD TO BUY NEW TV. GOUGED DOORWAYS OF NEW HOME WHEN DELIVERING ITEMS FROM THE MOVING DOLLY. UNBELIEVEABLE THIS COMPANY IS STILL IN BUSINESS. TOM JORDON SMOOTH AS BUTTER AT START OF ESTIMATE AND PROCESS AND COULD CARE LESS AFTER MOVE AND DAMAGE. SHOULD HAVE DONE MY HOMEWORK AND CHECKED REVIEWS, HAD TO MOVE FAST AND MOVING STRESSFUL ENOUGH, THOUGHT I HAD CHOSEN A DECENT COMPANY. WHEN MOVERS DELIVERED, ONE WAS SO APPALLED BY CONDITION OF MY ITEMS HE GAVE ME HIS PHONE NUMBER AND SAID HE WOULD BE WILLING TO TESTIFY AS TO THE DAMAGE, HE COULDN'T EVEN BELIEVE IT AND HE'S IN THE BUSINESS.

  3. Deceitful and Shady Sales Tactics.

If I could give them anything lower than one star I would.

!!DO NOT HIRE THIS DECEITFUL COMPANY!!

They started off with a very reasonable quote of $2,400 and then less than one week prior to my move they raised the quote by $800 and threatened to cancel the move. Upon pick up they waited until all of my belongings were loaded to ONCE AGAIN raise the quote by more than $500. All of these charges for packing materials was never brought up until after they did it. Originally I was assured a delivery window of only two to three weeks, but unsurprisingly that changed and it took them close to six weeks. Once they had my stuff and my money Tom my sales rep stopped taking my phone calls about when will my belongings be moved. If he answered the phone or replied to a message he'd push me off to another department that wouldn't answer their phone.

Upon delivery they once again tried to demand $300 in cash to unload my belongings on top of all the other charges. I warned them that a semi would not fit on my street several times in the days leading to the delivery, but they ignored me. The delivery man tried to THREATEN how much more money it would cost if I didn't pay him then and there. We ended up writing a check for the amount. With such a bad experience up to that point why wouldn't my belongings also be in poor shape? Several of our boxes came wet, others came collapsed, and a few pieces of furniture broken. They even dropped a large piece damaging my tile in our new house.

Working with this dishonest company and the deceitful Tom Jordan resulted in a gross amount of stress. This company employs non-truthful sales tactics, and can't even take a contract that they produced seriously. I would like to see some form of refund for the amount of money they milked using exploitative sales methods to make a few extra dollars. They are only there to collect your money and have no pride or regard for their clients.

I encourage everyone who made the same mistake of employing this company and to file against them with the BBB. They need to shape up how they treat their customers and be honest and transparent. Not setting up quotes and contracts to trap people into separating with their money. All said and done this company cost the same as Allied or Nationwide. Do yourself a favor and hire a REAL company, that will treat you and your belongings with the respect that you deserve.

  4. Do Not Use!!

Tom Jordan is rude and lies. Once they have your money
they do not care. Now Customer service line does not work.
Broke goods, missing boxes, they contracted to two thieves
who I personally felt in peril with.

They are horrible. Do not return calls. Do not care. I lost
items from family I cannot replace. Threw boxes onto the
ground, left a mess! Creepy people.

  5. Rude.

Tom Jordan was so incredibly rude to me. I called him to make my final payment with them, and he yelled at me and hung up the phone. He told me he wouldn't repeat himself anymore, told me I was lazy, would not work with me, OR let me speak to anyone but him. I was able to get ahold of corporate and they apologized and are handling the situation. Beware.

  6. Do not use this mover.

Subcontracted out all of the move and it showed. When movers delivered items, they were very careless with the boxes. We heard a box crash outside. They brought it inside saying it was already broken. They rushed us to sign off on the delivery even though we did not have a chance to check and make sure we received everything. They even removed furniture covers before we had a chance to compare item numbers. As a result, we ended up not getting a bookcase delivered. I emailed Scout about the missing bookcase and other broken items. Jordan replied and said they would have to check on the bookcase. After about a week she let me know that they could not find it and to give her a call. I called and she said her supervisor asked what the value was and that they would just give us the money for it. I emailed her a link to target with the bookcase that was actually missing. She then replied that she was wrong before and that we woukd have to file a claim through their claims department (which by the way is alsi subcontracted out). We received the proposed settlement for close to $850 worth of missing and broken items. The proposal was for $75.
There was no number on the proposed settlement to call so I called Tom who I talked to originally about the contract. No help! Showed no concern and basically had a hands off attitude. He said calling him was like going to the garden center to get a refund for a tv. Wow! I thought our contract was with the moving company.
Stay clear of this moving company if you want your items to arrive in one piece and if you want a company that truly cares about what they do.

  7. Run, Don't Walk From This Company.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Same experience as the other reviewers. I contracted with Trans-United (just as bad) who contracted with Scout Moving. According to Trans-United they belong under the same "umbrella" as Scout but Scout says they aren't affiliated. Total bait and switch. Charged us over $300 more than expected and then stopped taking my calls when I disputed the amount. Told them they were pretty much holding my items hostage since if I didn't make the final payment they wouldn't deliver and then I would have to pay storage and additional fees. I knew once I made the final payment I would never get a refund.

Please take heed of these reviews and steer clear of this company and Trans-United.

  8. Very Poor Service, Dubious and incompetent.

I really doubt if many of the 5 stars reviews for this company are real.
They deliberately omit many of the items you tell them from the docu sign document and will say "don't worry it's just an estimate.." they don't do onsite review on the day of the move they will suddenly demand an outrageously higher amount then you begin to haggle with constant threat of just leaving your item!
They don't move your item rather they keep it in WA and start harassing you for storage fee at less than 2 weeks! They reluctantly backed out after I called.
When you request delivery they become very evasive and pushing around to non-existent staff. Finally, I was told I should expect delivery 3 months after the move.

  9. A good Job.

We used Budget Van Lines as a broker and they contracted Scout for us. Our move from Seattle to Arizona went quite well. They were very efficient and courteous picking up our furniture. We did all our packing except for a few items they packed and did a good job with.
Delivery in Arizona also went well.

A few issues arose but were resolved. The final price was incorrect
but was resolved amicably. The office told me the truck was still in Seattle at 14 days after pickup but then it showed up a day later. All in all it went well and they were super courteous and friendly at all times.

Ive seen the negative reviews but our experience was good. As was the price.

  10. Terrible experience with Scout moving company.

The worst experience ever, rude foreman, under packed boxes to increase cubic feet and costs. Did severe damage to my belongings. The salesman talked of a discount due to my experience, door was slammed on that discount after waiting 40-days. Please beware of this terrible moving company who also operates under GTS Trucking.

  11. Do Not Use This Company.

Worst moving experience ever. They gave a 3 hour pick up window and never informed when they would come - till 1 hour before they called to say we are coming. Was in such a hurry left without taking all items in the inventory list; also had packed some items that were not in the list and extorted extra money to unload those items. Delivery side was also a bad experience. They said would come between 3 to 5 pm, arrived at 6.30pm and parked blocking thoroughfare - when asked to move the truck, threw a tantrum and demanded extra $75 to unload items and said would leave if was not given the extra money. Extremely unprofessional and rude driver/mover said things like "I have double parked moving truck; no where in the US is it illegal to do so - you rich people have a habit of complaining".

  12. Extortionists.

Do not use this company! Stay Away! I moved a small apartment from Oregon to Maryland. Weight was less than minimum 2,000lbs and quoted $1700. The problem came when the driver, Dwight, called the day before delivery to inform me that a semi would not fit in my new apartment building's loading dock. That would cost an additional $300 to rent a second truck that was smaller and could easily navigate the loading area. I asked the driver if he had actually seen the loading dock, viewed on website, called the leasing office for dimensions or viewed the dock on Google maps, he said no to all. When asked how do you know that your semi will not fit in the loading area if you don't know what it looks like - since it is designed for the length and width of semis and they deliver here all the time. He said he just assumed. Dwight arrived 90 minutes late and couldn't back the truck into the loading dock because he was an incompetent truck driver. I have photos of his semi clearing the sides and ceiling of dock but he said it couldn't be done. All this just to charge me an extra $300 that must be paid in cash! When he left to get the smaller truck another semi backed in made their couch delivery and left in 15 minutes. (Sheesh! I wish he stayed to show Dwight how it's done). Dwight then told me my door was too far from the elevator (greater than 100 ft) so that was an additional $200. (It's actually 69.7 feet. I measured afterwards.) He refused to unload the truck until he received the cash in full. At the conclusion of the delivery he told me I have to fill out a survey. I told him I would not do it now and would forward to company later, he raised his voice and said no fill out now in front of me. I was frightened and alone with this man in my apartment. I rated him poor and showed him out. Extremely intimidating, extortion mafia tactics and obviously taking advantage to 'legally' mug a single woman that he felt he could strong arm.

  13. Do Not Use Scout Moving.

I moved from San Francisco to Chicago and was provided a quote.  I even provided a VIDEO that we walked through TOGETHER on the phone and somehow my bill after my items were loaded on the truck jumped $1000 because of the "space."  I wonder why this is..hmm..while unpacking I had items like a PLASTIC SHOT GLASS wrapped like it was ready to go into space.  And don't fall for the "full service" line..they drop off your boxes and bail town like their houses are on fire.SCAM!  I should have used Mayflower!!  I am planning to report this company to the BBB.

  14. Black Mail for your Goods.

The move went fairly well Although the disappointment is setting in more and more every day. They lost some of our boxes. The biggest issue is the driver called and said they couldn't get a 53' truck in our new property and they would have to do the "shuttle" thing and that was of course $850.00 extra. What could we do ?  We wanted our stuff.. so we paid. They put the stuff in a smaller truck and brought it in. (Is this when the boxes went missing?) In any case.. since we've been here, I've seen ATLAS, UNITED, BUDD and other carriers with 53' trailers and large sleeper cabs pull right in.  (See the pictures) WTH??  Better drivers?  Or maybe the $850 goes right into the delivery team's pocket? And now that I'm asking them questions SCOUT MOVING aka CASCADE Relocation is giving us the run around ..  In short have extra cash ready for the "black mail" oops I mean the truck won't fit !!
     .

  15. A great help!

I moved from Seattle and chose Scout Moving and Storage because I didn’t want to hire a cheap moving company that was going to lose my stuff, but I didn’t want to pay too much, and they were a very reasonable middle of the road price. After working with they’re relocation coordinator Melissa, I feel like I got the star treatment for a great price. She went over every detail with me, contacted me every step of the way. I never had to bother her once. It was like she knew what I was thinking and gave me an answer before I could even ask the question. The guys just delivered my stuff over the weekend and everything was in great shape, I am so relieved. Thank you Melissa, and thank you Scout Moving!! If anyone wants a company that will treat their belongings with utmost care and respect, they should hire Scout. They hadn’t even done the move before I fell in love with them. Just the amount of time that Michelle, the employee I worked with, spent with me going over all my questions and then asking me questions about things I hadn’t even thought of. I could tell they knew what they were doing and when they showed up Tuesday morning to move my things it went off without a hitch. I can’t say enough how great these guys were.
