  1. Florida FMC licensee can’t be trusted

Two brothers, [NAME EDIT] and [NAME EDIT] run LTC personal effects worldwide. They use “favorite” but unlicensed USA packers who loaded our cargo into an unmarked rental box truck. Movers later ripped off shrink wrap from carefully packed boxes, already signed off on the manifest, removed packing material around fragile items, discarded clothing, broke a glass vase, stuffed a heavy box of books into seat cushion of vintage Swedish recliner already boxed, and emptied contents of two boxes completely and flattened them, just so they could squeeze our personal effects into an already full container. They have worthless insurance scam, phony “lift van” sales extra, and bogus “door to door delivery contract” At delivery end, another sleazy subcontractor driver comes alone and dumps boxes off the tailgate into the street. These guys love to talk on phone but watch out, they are con artists. $2500 loss.

  2. Low Stress move to Austria

Howard and Jonathan were so helpful during our first international move. I was skeptical because the price was half as much as the name-brand van lines in the US, but it was great! I appreciated how well they explained customs procedures. They were clear, accurate, and they got their people to our place on time. Everything was carefully wrapped and arrived on time again in Europe. We opted to get insurance, but everything went smoothly.

We liked working with them so much we're using them again to move back to the US. I feel less stressed knowing I can trust them with our belongings.

  3. Cheaper is not better.

Relocated from Philadelphia to WesthMeath, Ireland. First couple of weeks Howard would return phone calls and emails. Once they picked up our shipment, nothing. I had to HOUND them for information. Globalog, the company they use are deplorable. You get NO information from them. I requested not to ship our goods through the UK because of Brexit with the result we had to pay nearly $700 in fees to have our shipment released to Ireland. We only had 17 small - large boxes, no furniture. They threatened to start charging storage if we didn’t pay.

I was also told it was rare to have a container inspection at the port. Nine containers were checked in the UK before being transported to other countries, all had to pay hundreds in fees. Howard admitted to this on the phone, said he didn’t know what happened and would try get some of our money back. To date Howard or Jonathon have not answered any of my emails.

The amount of forms I had to fill out to prove I had a right to live in Ireland was ridiculous. It took nearly six months for the nightmare to end. This company blows smoke up your ass on how wonderful their customer service is. THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY after that you’re on your own. I don’t know where these positive reviews come from. Cheap is not always better. Do your research and pay that bit extra for peace of mind.

  4. Great experience with my move back to Europe.

I just moved from the Bay Area back to Bavaria in Germany and found ShippingMyGoods on the internet. I got in touch with their Florida based team and my two contact points (Anthony and Jonathan) were fantastic. They coordinated all on my behalf. They worked with great packers in the Bay Area who took good care of both my household goods and an expensive sports car - all packed up in a 40ft container. The goods arrived in time in Bremerhaven, Germany, got trucked down to our place in Bavaria and eventually got unloaded by a Munich based moving firm. All worked out perfect. No damage, no major delays and - apart from extra custom's fees, which weren't ShippingMyGoods fault - I paid what had been agreed beforehand. I can highly recommend this firm.

  5. The. Literal. Worst.

I relocated from Iowa, USA to Dublin, Ireland earlier this year and used this company. I would refer to them as borderline criminally negligent: ignored emails, wrong/lost paperwork, incommunicado with local Irish shipping agents for WEEKS until I had to leave threats of legal action via VMs to get them to respond. Even the local Irish shipping agents said they have a terrible reputation and they'd had trouble with them before. I wish I'd done much better research before I went with them - they were an exercise in prolonged, profound anxiety and frustration. The only thing I CAN say is our stuff got to us perfectly packed and intact, whihc is only a testament to the local Iowa team that packed it, and the shippers at the S. Carolina shore. SMG is only a coordinator - a TERRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, APPALLING excuse for a coordinator. Do your homework and pay a little extra for peace of mind. These guys are hacks.

  6. Worst experience ever! Stay away!

Referred by friends, I am having the worst experience with this company and it is not my first move.

Shippingmygoods.com reviewed the cubic feet estimate (193 cubic feet instead of 100 cft) two months after they picked up my goods, although I had communicated to them before the pickup date what I was shipping with all measurements. Before they picked up my goods, I decided to go with them because their quote was lower than the ones of other moving companies.

But here is the thing: now that they have my goods, they are sending me an invoice with a price more than 4 times higher than the one I was quoted for ($5,743.90 instead of $1,390). They have become the most expensive moving company. How convenient! It has been 2.5 months that they picked up my goods and I don’t know if I’ll ever see them again. The company is keeping them hostage until I pay the bill that they more than quadrupled.

Here is how they increased the price:

    1) They increased the cubic feet estimate without informing me

    2) They added costs they never told me about (e.g. they said it is a door-to-door service but then they charged me for movers)

    3) They did not honor the insurance discount they told me about

    4) They did not honor the fact that their rate includes the standard port and terminal handling charges at destination, which, according to them, is supposed to save approximately 400- 800 euros

    5) They had one of the companies they work with (Globalog) contact me to bill me another $928.12 (or they won’t release my goods)

    Stay away from this company!

  7. Ji Choi.

Worst experience ever. I am writing. this review to warn others so they don't have to endure what I just went through for nearly one year of frustration, no communication, and being held hostage to these awful peoople. I was overcharged and paid hidden costs over and over again, but I am so tired and exhausted with this company, I cannot fight any more.

I signed the contract and paid my deposit to have my things moved back in May 2019. March 28, 2020, my things arrived completely damaged to S. Korea.

During the near year of anxious waiting, paying, trying to communicate, I went through so much distress. I tried always to be patient, polite, friendly, but none of it worked to get my things in safe and undamaged.

I am not pursuing getting money back because I cannot bear dealing with them more. I urge you to read their reviews on various sites - I am not the only person who has endured this. I have written the Better Business Bureau and reported them - they should not be in business. These people are taking money and ruining people's lives. I feel so cheated and upset. I have been so upset over and over again. I tried to give them the benefit of doubt to the end, but seeing the state of how my furniture arrived after nearly a year of waiting with no response to my pleas and requests to the whereabouts of my belongings and paying nearly twice what I was quoted, I simply can not stand by and do nothing.

  8. Horrible Shipping and Insurance Experience.

What an horrible experience we had with our international shipment via Shipping My Goods and the insurance cover from Anova which Shipping My Goods advised us to purchase, to apparently protect us.

    We have several issues..
    - The removalist used to pack our goods left a 3rd of them behind and no one contacted us to let us know
    - 1/3 of the container of goods were damaged or broken due to poor packing
    - Shipping My Goods advised us to purchase ANOVA All Risk Insurance but there was NO point in purchasing insurance through ANOVA, especially their "All Risk Insurance" as you are not covered for chipping, denting, scratching etc.. but that's not the most mind-blowing part, you actually have NO protection against damage "UNLESS ITS PROVEN TO BE CAUSED BY IDENTIFIABLE INCIDENT." This one sentence enables them to get out of any claim you may make, as you don't and can't travel with your shipment, therefore they win and take your hard earned money every time, leaving you with nothing, NO PROTECTION and NO recourse to get compensation for your damaged goods.
    - I had no opportunity to read the fine print of the advised insurance policy as Shipping my good, did not provide although it was asked for in more than 2 emails.

    - We are $4K out of pocket because we were forced to pay for another 20f shipment
    - We have $8,000+ of damaged or broken goods

WHAT A HORID EXPERIENCD.. I FEEL TRICKED and MISS LEAD.

  9. Shipping to Spain.

Our original estimate of $1380 to ship seven 50 lb. boxes to Spain from Arizona was upped another couple of hundred dollars for overweight fees once the boxes had been picked up. The shipment arrived at our house in Spain two and and half weeks after the agreed date. We also were slapped with a $330 VAT and duty charge that ShippingMyGoods finally refunded us (they had promised that their original quote included all costs and that there would be no additional fees). Finally, one of our boxes arrived open and with half of the contents missing (see photos). We had "total loss" insurance- the only one self-packers are allowed- so no compensation for that, just a "we´re sorry" from the company. Dozens of emails and international phone calls to try to sort things out, so overall the entire experience was unsatisfactory, to say the least.

  10. Very bad experience.

    I let you judge:
    Starting price $ 1673 + $ 150 insurance (2m3) TTC
for door to door without customs or port fees.
    After moving:
+ $ 300 for packing costs by Globalog
+ $ 228 to pick up my things in Rotterdam (Company Globalog)
1 item of great value {5700 $} destroyed
1 box "lost" (Sound bar TV)
The "Total lost" insurance at $ 150 only reimburses in the case of total loss ..
5 months to recover my belongings (Texas to France)
Shabby communication and a hundred emails.

  11. Superb.

Thank you so much for all your work!
I’m totally happy with the service provided! Great people! Amazing service! Super!!

  12. Moving to Europe.

Moved from Arizona to Sweden. Company was upfront with the fees, but had to make a small adjustment due to change of port for the container. Moving and forwarding companies in both the US and Sweden were very professional and helpful. All our items including our car arrived safely and in good condition. It took 8 weeks from door to door.

  13. Relocating great distances.

This is a good company I am reviewing - they are professional and conscientious and thorough.
My goods were picked up from such a microscopic, out of the way town in the boondocks, I thought I would have to help them find a trucking company that had actually heard of this place.
The operation was very smooth and easy - they have great practice and a great team-work, 'can do' attitude.
    I heartily recommend them.

  14. Moved from New York to London - August 2017.

ShippingMyGoods helped us move from New York to London. This process took 10 weeks and we were very happy with the condition that our belongings were in when they arrived. Nothing was missing and they had individually wrapped delicate items in paper. We arranged a quote of $1500 which was based on estimations and paid $300 in a deposit to begin the processing. SMG were professional and efficient. We chose the door to door option using an ocean freight service. We also used their packing service (for an additional fee) because the value of our goods was high and we wanted to be able to claim insurance if we needed to. The company arranged for the shipment to take place on a specific date and were prompt and careful whilst loading the van. They boxed up and labelled each box, which was useful when everything arrived in London. The total weight after packing was 131 cubic feet and this used two pallets. SMG sent us the updated invoice of $1900 with details of payment swiftly, which meant that they could get it sent off to Charleston, US as quick as possible. During this time, we were filling in detailed itemized inventory list which was needed by the Customs Declaration side in the UK. We were then given a specific date that the ship would arrive in Southampton, UK but not given a tracking number. Customs clearance took 2 weeks and HMRC charged £265. Globalog facilitated this. Next came Seavia and Relocations Direct. We arranged a delivery date but it had to change last minute as the pallets had been wrapped together which then wouldn't fit on the van. Although this was slightly annoying, Seavia found a solution very quickly and professionally. Our belongings arrived at 8am on the curbside the next morning and we were overall very pleased with this service. Highly recommend ShippingMyGoods.

  15. Shippingmygoods.com.

Moved from California to the UK, very knowledgeable, about all fees upfront unlike other companies. Saved me a ton of money.
