  1. The worst.

Do not hire these guys under any circumstances. This company is set up to fleece you. It is the only thing they take pride in.

Please warn everyone and anyone you come across not to hire these movers or anyone without investigating them first. Companies like this will change their names from time to time, so an absence of reviews should be taken as a bad sign.

If you get Nicolas with a Russian accent, hang up.

  2. Worst experience with movers ever!!

I am not sure how this company gets away with being so criminal. Not only did they lose 13 items, they damaged more than 40% of the rest. They overcharged me, but waited to tell me that after they loaded the truck. They intimidated me when I tried to get them to deliver my things, and when they finally came, told me that if I didn't pay first and sign the contract saying I received everything in good condition that they would leave and not remove anything from their truck. I got the police involved and things were less threatening. I felt sorry for the undocumented workers that helped because they were curteous. It was the main driver who was a bit vicious. I took pictures, lodged a complaint and was only offered $60 for damages.
I am a single woman who had two small children who had to witness the delivery and they were frightened as well.

Seems like this company continues to get away with such behavior and poor customer service. Wish there was a way to shut them down and prevent others from this type of experience. Hopefully my review will help warn them.

  3. Missing items and damaged goods.

Do not use Silver Van Lines unless you want your wallet raped and your belongings lost and or destroyed. I trusted this company because they were backed by the BBB and they lied to me every step of the way. I was quoted a flat rate from the get go and at each step of the way they tried to get more money out of me. They lost furniture and ripped over 13 boxes open and took what they wanted and destroyed most of the rest plus they destroyed 4 planks of brand new flooring with their hand truck. I am a 65 yo disabled woman that moved from Seattle to New Orleans and had never hired a moving company before. Silver Van Lines lie from the get go just to get you in hook, line and sinker and then to add insult to injury they offered me a settlement of $24.00. Really? Are you kidding me so you need to think real hard before hiring this company and trusting them with all that you have.

  4. Do Not Use Them!

The movers were great! They were the only thing I liked about silver van lines. I was deceived and lied to, which I am pissed about and will never recommend this company to anyone. When I initially spoke with customer service and gave them a DETAILED list of everything I wanted to move, I was quoted at 400 cubic feet with a specific price. Which was why I went with this company. Then the movers come and tell me what I'm actually looking at is 550-600 cubic feet FOR THE SAME LIST OF ITEMS I WAS INITIALLY QUOTED AT! On the day of the move I find out I need to pay almost $1000 more than what I was originally quoted. So, I decided not to ship everything because that was ridiculous and I still payed more money to move less of my things. Also, I was also told the fees included everything, which was another lie. Charging a fee after the fact for stairs and walking over 75 feet is ridiculous when you tell me that everything is included in what I'm already being charged. There should then be no additional or hidden fees. This company was a rip off! So, my husband and I decided to call the manager. Obviously, we have reason to be upset. He was rude, continuously spoke over us and would not listen to anything we had to say. He told us both to shut up, called us names(crazy trump supporter, I didn't vote for him btw), and spoke to us like we were children. We're waiting for a refund and have taken our business else where. We're contacting the department of transportation and the BBB. Please go somewhere else.

  5. Bad Customer Services.

I had a very bad experience with this mover company, and I don't think I would recommend it to anyone. I received a quotation from this company with a maximum of 500 cubic feet space and a weight of 3000 lbs at a rate of $1465, with some free services attached to the quotation. I had some unpacked items that needed to be packed by the company. The mover named DINO seeing my unpacked items told me that the price will go up to $2400 without checking my stuff in the storage which was less than 500 cubic feet. I was agreed to pay for the unpacked items (5 boxes in all with a quote of $15 each). But first he should check my items in the storage before giving another price. But he insisted that if he has to reduce the price he will go down to $2300 otherwise he will leave then he started the truck and let me know that he will leave in 5 mins if I don't make a decision. I found myself trapped by this company, I couldn't do otherwise than paying the $2300 since I flew from Texas to California for that purpose. When my belonging arrived in Texas the driver let me know that my belonging took 480 cubic feet space, less than what was in the quotation. I will not recommend you who are reading this review to take this company, please, I do not have the habit of making review on my bad experience, because for me they were minor issues that can be fixed, but this one I noticed that this is stealing and abusing the customer. I would like to warn you once more unless you would like to waste your money.

  6. Horrible service.

Max Martinez, a customer service rep, was yelling on the phone and calling names and telling me to shut up when I was complaining about the pick up service. The company was late in pick up and drop off. Quotes was different from the actual payment I had to make because they say they don't charge for packing, but they do. Upon delivery they charge for how many feet away your door is from the truck and how big your elevator is. Everything they say is a big lie and will deny us later on. A lot of my stuff was broken and scratched by the company.

  7. Horrible experience worst servince.

We had a terrible experience working with this company for our move from California to the east coast.

They gave us a quote for the move after we gave the full information about what needed to be moved. All the items for the move and the details. The quote was reasonable and we booked our flight tickets around the quote. We understood some minor adjustment may be made to the move, as is expected with all moves.

Their movers showed up (they seemed to be independent of the company and barely knew about silver van lines) and forced us to agree to a price that was more than three times the quote even though nothing changed from the items being moved compared to the quote! Our flights were booked so we couldn't even reject it. They said that there were long distance fees and elevator fees even though we provided the destination and floor number (and even reserved the elevator) when we requested the quote. They gave zero explanation of how these items tripled the cost and said that its take it or leave it or deal with the company afterwards, but that they will fix the price for us since the quote was only a fraction of the cost. We were stuck and had to move forward with the hopes that it was an error we could resolve by calling the main number.

When we tried to discuss the change in price, we were bounced around multiple people in the company. Eventually, the owner got on the phone and told us that he didn't care what happened, that we signed paperwork, and he was going to instruct his truck to leave our stuff in the middle of the county and we can come find it if we don't clear the payment.

We ended up paying the ridiculous cost but will obviously never use them again.

  8. Horrible Experience.

Do not hire this unprofessional company. They were terrible from start to finish. The small damage compensation it took 5 months to get can never cover repair for my antiques. They smashed my furniture inbetween 2 other customers and everything was bent and torked. Dont buy their pricing either because it was a lot more than what was originally quoted. Not professional.

  9. Worst Moving Company.

AVOID this moving company ! Silver Vanlines in San Diego is the worst moving company I have ever used. My property was lost, some was damaged and the movers damaged my home bringing in the furniture. This was a horrible experience. Don't waste your money with Silver Vanlines - also don';t believe them about when your furniture was shipped !! Their DOT is 2464484. Confirm everything in writing with this company to protect yourself.
