Moving.
We used this company in Dec 2012 for a move in a pinch due to a broken heating system, they were ok. So we used them again Sept 2014 and they broke a piece of fine art by loading it on the truck wrong, they even showed us how it broke. They said they would have their insurance company call us. We called after two weeks of nothing and they didn't answer. We called from a local number and they answered and yelled at my partner saying it was our fault and he would not give the insurance info. We had our lawyer contact them and turns out because he has a felony on his record he cannot get insurance. (which he told me he was lincenced, insured, and bonded both times I enquired for each move). He has since removed his ads stating so. Both times we wrote the checks to Jai Streeter and both were cashed at our bank the next day. So I will be reporting him to the BBB, and taking him to small claims court. I am also thinking about reporting him to the IRS for tax fraud. This guy lied to us the entire time and we believed him. We should have deducted $1500 for the fine art till the insurance company called us, which would have been never. Our move took 10 hrs because it was an 100 degree day and no one ate so I felt bad and even bought them pizza and tipped them. If you do not mind having something broken then I guess you can go with these guys but why when you can have insured movers and ones that actually know how to load a truck? Save your time, money and frustration with this guy and his so called company. .

My experience with this company was disappointing at best. Projected times were not correct. Help was unprofessional and smelled of alcohol and marijuana upon arrival in the morning. Items moved were damaged in the process. I was asked to make payment out to a person, not the company. Bad experience. .
Did not show up.
Who knows if this is a bad company? All I know is I had a terrible, horrible experience. This experience has cost me money and time. I hired Small Town Movers last week after doing an internet search. It was between two moving companies. I chose them because they said they could come Sunday whereas the other one could only do it the following Tuesday. The representative on the phone said that Sunday was available. I explained exactly what I needed done, explain all the things I need to move, and said that you are higher. He told me to be there at Sunday at 10 AM. He told me that based on what I said I needed three guys in four hours. I called back on Thursday to confirm. I told him that I was also bringing a washer and dryer. He said he's been a have four guys. I was all set. Waited at my house early in the morning. No small-town movers. I called many times but only got an answering machine.Finally, at 6pm, I gave up. This morning at 9 AM I still have not received a call back so I called them. The representative who I spoken to said I don't have any record of a move yesterday. I asked him if her remembers us talking about it and he said yes but we didn't solidify. He said they never move without a deposit. I told him that he never asked for one. We had an agreement and I believe we were all set. He was angry that I was not happy but I have a walk-through at my house this morning and it is being done amongst boxes. I do not recommend this company. If you do use them, make sure you get everything in writing. Their phone service is incredibly unprofessional. .
Horrible experience.
This company was hired to move our small office from Haydenville to Easthampton. They arrived 45 minutes late, in a rented truck, with one handtruck. Fortunately, we had several dollies and trucks, because they'd have been perfectly happy carrying one box at a time down a long corridor. Loading took a looooong time, even though they sent six people--all of whom needed showers. They expected to be paid on the spot, despite having been told that, as a business, we had to have a check cut and it would be mailed to them. This process involved all six crowding into the office in an apparent attempt at intimidation. Despite being told that they would be called when the check was available (three days), two men showed up unannounced at the office, again to be intimidating and unpleasant until the check was handed to them. Very unprofessional overall. There's had been the lowest bid, but I believe the final figure came in significantly higher than expected.
Great moving company in Western Massachusetts!
This company is fantastic! I paid to have three people do the move, and they sent five at no extra charge! They never took breaks, but worked right through at a very steady pace to get the job done in a very timely manner. They clearly are not out to gouge their customers, but rather to work hard for a reasonable fee. I had no damages and they clearly knew how to pack the truck well. I couldn't be more pleased, and would highly recommend them!
Small Town Movers.
We had an excellent experience with Small Town Movers of Greenfield Mass. They responded to our last minute request on a Saturday because someone else had dropped the ball on our previously scheduled move.
Jai and Kevin of Small Town Movers were punctual and brought two additional helpers. All were friendly and courteous. These are experienced skilled movers. Nothing was damaged, and the costs were very reasonable.
I would not hesitate to use this company again and would recommend them without condition.
