  1. Commercial Services

I have used Smith Dray Lines commercial services for approximately 7 years. They receive, store and deliver product for me by appointment. At times they even assist with assembly and haul off and dispose of debris. They are very capable of these services and generally speaking do a good job. So why the one star rating? I contracted them for a commercial extraction of fitness equipment in October of 2020. They quoted a price for the extraction, transport of the equipment and storage for six months at nearly $4,000. I was onsite and assisted with the extraction and inventoried the Olympic weight plates while onsite. Everything went smoothly until about a week later when I visited the Blythewood, SC warehouse to meet a client to sell some of the items. I noticed that some of the weight plates seemed to be missing. When I pointed this out to my account rep, she said she would have to see if she could find them. A few days went by and I received the invoice for the job. Prior to paying, I asked if the missing weight plates had been located. I was told that I must have miscounted and that there were no missing weight plates. I reminded my account rep that I had actually counted the plates two times while on site and was sure that 225 pounds of plate weight was missing. I then asked for a $225 reduction in the invoice to account for the value of the missing weight plates. My account rep doubled down on how I was wrong (shouldn't the customer always be right?) about the number of plates and then in so many words, said that she had provided additional services that were not previously agreed upon and that I should just pay the invoice and be happy that she hadn't charged more for the job. I asked to be contacted by a supervisor which, as of the time of this review nearly two months later, has yet to happen. A claims rep did contact me and offer me $135 to settle the claim which I agreed to in order to cut my losses and move on. In addition to the $135 settlement, I requested a new account rep to work with in the future. A few more days passed and when I followed up with the claims rep, I was told that I had accused their employees of theft and that I would either need to work with my existing account rep or take my business elsewhere. Prior to writing this review, I reached back out to the company to try and see if I could resolve the issue regarding a new account rep, but received no response. It is unfortunate that Smith Dray's employees at the Blythewood location decided to terminate a 7 year business relationship over a request for a $225 adjustment in an invoice. To me that speaks volumes about how much my and your business is actually worth to them. Do yourself a favor and shop around. I have found they are not the only game in town and they are not the best value either.

  2. Smith Dray Line Movers of Blythewood, SC.

December 2017 we hired Smith Dray Line Movers of Blythewood, SC to pack, store and move our belongings.

Our story is unbelievable, long and complicated so trust us when we say Beware!

Our biggest regret is using this company! My husband researched many companies and felt that since his company uses this company for their moving needs he decided we would go with them. We couldn’t really find any bad reviews which we now have learned there are lots of them.

90% of our belongings were replaced with replica looking items on top of missing and stolen items. From fine art, beds and bed frames, to holiday items, heirlooms and lots of brand new items never used yet, our personal baby cloths, pictures, furs etc.. Our belongings were with this company for seven months.

We found so many of our items being sold on the Internet with EBay, LetGo.com, Facebook, Etsy, etc..
We were able to buy back two heirloom pieces. The third piece we almost got back didn’t happen because they figured out it was us trying to buy it back. Very long and complicated story.

    We filed a police report.

If I could attach pictures of how our items were received you would be blown away. Our pictures speak volumes for themselves.

Our entire world has been turned upside down by Smith Dray Line Movers of Blythewood, SC. Our biggest regret in life is using this company.

If you would like to save yourself much heartache, stress and tears we recommend not to use this company.
