1. Check with BBB - Damaged our walls & floors and gouged our furniture

   75% of our Wood Furniture was damaged in transport. When they unloaded our belongings they ran into the walls in several places and dropped and dragged our things across our wood floors causing unrepairable damages. We properly documented and submitted our claim for damages. Its been 3 months and they continue to not to return calls. Wish I had read the BBB complaints prior to hiring them. We filed one ourselves. Still we call weekly and send emails with no response.

2. Attention to details from customer is the key.

   My movers were great. My only disappointment was with the information given to them. I specifically said I had a 20 foot container coming from a shipyard. So my movers did not have a lift with them. It was for their safety. They had 3 to 4 feet off the floor to get things out of the container. There were a few heavy items but they unloaded everything without a scratch. It took them longer than expected though.

   

3. Move from California to Arizona in late August.

   Moving to Az in late August is not a great idea. The heat and humidity was unbearable AND I moved to an upstairs apartment. The guys that brought my stuff in from the truck had no easy job but did a really good one. I know they were tapped out by the time they were done but they remained professional and courteous. I will use SML in the future and will refer them to everyone!

4. Total waste of time and money.

   Please do not be fooled by these reviews. SML is a nation wide middle man for local moving crews. The movers for my job came without any way to move the appliances I specifically needed moved. They had the smallest dolly available at Lowes and the tires were flat. They had no straps to move things on dolly or to hold moving blankets in place. It was so bad, I had to ask them to leave.

5. Will Not Use Again.

   Movers were supposed to show up between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. They showed up at 10:00 with excuse that traffic was bad. Plan ahead? I had an appointment so could not be present during unload. My wife felt intimidated by the movers attitudes. They were requested to place household goods in aisles with heavy objects on bottom and light on top. Instead, they created one big pile with some heavy objects on light and fragile objects. Total work time 1 hour 14 minutes for two hours pay. This service was recommended by Penske where we rented the truck. We will not use this service again. The only good thing was that they did not break anything.

6. Metro areas is an ordeal for this company.

   Not at all workable to and from any metro city areas whereas truck street parking with move is necessary.

7. Recent move.

   Very professional movers showed up on time, took excellent care of my furniture and boxes. Perfect packing of my rental truck, everything remained secure during a 1900 mile move.

8. Terrible - Never use SML.

   Moved my son to N.C. and hired SML for two person / two hours of moving labor to help unload truck I had rented from Penske (Note SML is their recommend moving help company) . Schedule time for arrival of support was 1:00-2:00 p.m. called prior to 1:00 to ensure all was on tracked and received confirmation "yes .. movers will be at location before 2:00". 2:00 came no help, called back and was told movers were delayed and be about 30 mins. 2:30, 3:00, 3:30, 4:00 same story. Every time there was an excuse. Finally after getting supervisor was told 4:30 they would be there. At 4:30 "one guy shows up", second one 15 mins later. Good guys and they worked fast (50 mins done). They informed me that they did not receive the order until 3:30 that day!! SML sucks! Will never recommend them! There compensation - We are so sorry, 75$ discount.

9. Great move effort.

   Great experience with SML. Used them to arrange labor in Charleston SC to unload a moving truck with our household goods.  Workers were on time, very helpful and speedy.  Cost was reasonable. Had a little bit of a problem on the final invoice which SML took care of immediately with no fuss, very impressive.  Would definately use them again, and recommend SML to others.

10. My family's move utilizing SML.

    Excellent company and reasonable pricing, fit our budget perfectly. Driver was kind, professional and kept us informed of all overnight stops and locations. SML also transported a new vehicle and it arrived in excellent condition. Both labor crews at pick up and delivery locations were fast, hard working and professional. Thanks to their hard work, our move went quick, smooth and stress free. I highly recommend SML and their labor crews.

11. SML Review.

    SML made a complicated move easy. I used the service on delivery end. Fair price, extremely flexible on scheduling, contacted me in route to ensure everything was fine and on schedule. Unloaders were very careful, fast and efficient. Four man team unloaded two 27 foot trucks in four hours and almost everything went in correct rooms. Respectful and courteous they worked in the Georgia heat without stopping. Kept them an extra hour to finish the job. I would surly use the service again if I decided to move myself again.

12. SML moving helpers.

     2 guys came and helped unload a truck that I had packed and driven from another city.  They worker hard and completed unloading in 2 hours.  I really appreciated their help.  One worker told me (when I asked) they get paid minimum wage.  What I paid for their help was WAY MORE THAN MINIMUM WAGE.  I do not know who got paid what but I think the workers that helped me should have been paid better than minimum wage.

13. Unloaded our truck into storage and then loaded it again and moved us into our home v.

    Ralph Brown and his partner Kevin were the best movers we have ever had. They are hard working God fearing men and we will recommend them to anyone we know that needs someone to move them. They took care in handling our things and helped set thing up in our home. They were on time and are very professional. They worked in a timely manner but never rushed to get the job done. We haven't found anything that was broken and would hire them in a New York minute should we ever be insane enough to move again, lol.

14. Load in one state & unload in another.

    Accurate quote. Competitive rates. Professional.
    Loading crew - called before arriving. On time. Loaded the rental truck effectively. Even though I mentioned an additional storage unit to load, loading crew didn't get request. They were willing to accommodate.
    Unloading crew - the company called days in advance to reschedule due too bad local weather. Unloading crew was just as efficient and effective.
    Definitely glad that I saw their ad on Penske's website. For the house full of things to move, it was great service for a fantastic price.

15. Truck loading - Pro Movers help.

    I contracted with SML for two Pro Movers in Milwaukee to help me load my Penske Rental Truck.  They showed up with no tools and only a hand truck and a dolly.  They had no hand tools so I had to break down the beds, dressers, TV and other furniture myself.  They had a lot of trouble properly loading the truck and repeatedly said the truck would not hold all of my furniture.  I finally had to show them how to load the final items onto the truck.   I contracted for $379 of labor and got a final bill for $559 because they went way over on the time.  When I unloaded the truck in Fl, I found many of the boxed marked fragile that was loaded by the laborers upside down, with other boxes loaded on top of them.  It was a very bad experience and I would never recommend SML to anyone.
